I recently rooted my G930A, running on Android 7.0 Nougat. It has a snapdragon 820 Qualcomm processor. I'm trying to find an install for TWRP, however I can't find one for US qualcomm variants, not even on the TWRP site/app. Only ones for the Chinese S7 devices. Does anyone know if there is a working image for a G930A for TWRP?
Sorry, there isn't a custom recovery because of the locked bootloader. If you want to flash zips, etc, you can use FlashFire from Chainfire.

I have no issues installing 6.0.1 marshmallow firmware with odin and then using the usual twrp guide to flash twrp and supersu it - no issues whatsoever.
with the new firmware now i keep getting a bootloop and i SWEAR i dont do anything else! i use the updated twrp, latest supersu and i still get bootloop - why? can someone give me a proper guide to root and twrp stock nougat? or do i have to go to back to marshmallow stock, twrp and supersu it and then flash a custom rom based on nougat?

So the 7.1.1 for the Axon2017G has been released today. Since I have a Daydream view and Daydream does not work for all Daydream apps on Lineage, I'd like to install it. But I also like Lineage and I would favour installing both using Dual Boot Patcher.
I know there are tutorials for dual boot patcher, for going back to stock, for installing lineage on the G version but since they are not meant to be used together, they contradict in some points. So I what I am asking for is a feedback whether what I want to do will lead to the result I want. Which of these steps are wrong / which are missing?
0.Getting the latest SuperSU from here: supersu.com/download (Is it really the same for all devices?)
1. Flashing SuperSU for Dual Boot Patcher to work
2. Altering the ZTE 7.1.1 TWRP flashable using dual boot patcher.
3. Altering SuperSU using dual boot patcher.
4. Altering the Bootstack using dual boot patcher?
5. Flashing the altered Bootstack using dual boot patcher?
6. Flashing the altered 7.1.1.
7. Flashing the altered SuperSU for Dual Boot Patcher to work on the ZTE 7.1.1.
I ain't sure about 4. and 5.. I already have the N-bootstack since I am on LOS... Do I have to flash it/another version again? If yes, do I have to use dual boot patcher on it?
btw, will I loose my data on the LOS when rooting? And just to be sure: installing the ZTE 7.1.1. won't replace my TWRP with the ZTE recovery/ the bootloader with the stock BL, will it?
I know these are many questions, sorry. But this is the first time I root and install multiple ROMs on a device.
Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated!
Hey guys, so I'm still pretty new at this whole android modding stuff (but I do have some background knowledge). I managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, and root B29. However, now I wanna upgrade up to Nougat and eventually to the newest firmware available (either B19 or B25, not sure which one yet because I've heard quite a bit about B25's lack of fastboot). Anyways, I have no idea how to get there while still retaining my custom recovery and root. I tried using Flashfire, however, since MiFavor auto-installs after it finishes downloading the OTA, I can't stop it fast enough to launch Flashfire and install it through that. Could anyone point me in the right direction (or show me a guide) that would help me get to the newest firmware? Thanks!
P.S: This is slightly unrelated, but I was wondering, would I have to flash a custom bootloader+modem if I choose to flash a stock update through TWRP? I heard that if you choose to upgrade to a newer generation of android (i.e: Marshmallow to Nougat) through a custom recovery, that you'd have to flash an updated version of the bootloader+modem as well, but the thing is I'm planning on staying on MiFavor, so I'm not sure if it'd be necessary.

I recently downloaded the latest upgrades to the firmware. Need help with rooting this device now. It's running Oxygen OS 3.6.1 and Android 6.0.1.
u can use same methods .. like unlock boot loader and flashing any custom recovery!
You need to unlock your bootloader, then flash TWRP recovery through fastboot, and then flash Magisk or SuperSU through TWRP.
On one of my Moto G5 Plus phones, I had rooted it prior, so couldn't install OTA updates, but I found some twrp flashable packages to get to NPNS25.137-93-14 on retus, and then I installed a twrp flashable oreo (both found here on XDA), but in the process, since it flashed new system partition and all, I lost root. Is there a working method to root on Oreo? Preferably without having to lose data since my bootloader is still unlocked and I have TWRP installed.
Can't you just flash Magisk?
Nothing about rooting deletes your data, unlocking the bootloader does that...

Just flash latest magisk.zip through TWRP as usual. If the Magisk Manager isn't installed after that download and install the latest one from Magisk thread.
