Hello fellow Android geeks! I have a quick question today. What will replace the Google Now Launcher when it is pulled from the Play Store? The AOSP launcher, the Pixel Launcher? Please post your input below, any is appreciated!
Nothing. You will just be left with an outdated launcher that no longer receives Play Store updates.
You might want to try Nova Launcher unless you aren't looking for a custom launcher and are asking if the stock launcher will change. That would depend on your Rom. The Pixel Launcher is pretty basic but I guess if you were using the previous Google launcher that might not matter to you.
I can't live without Nova. Pay the five bucks and get the prime upgrade. Then become a beta tester. It's updated pretty regularly and other than the swipe left thing that Google has, it's a great product. I have literally restored the same TIBU data (updated of course) for the last three phones. Lol

Hey guys, I am an iphone user looking to buy a new android phone and the nexus 6p is my current choice. However, i would really like to know if the themer app is supported on the nexus 6p( on their website it is stated that they do not support the nexus 6 which got me worrying). Can anyone confirm with me whether the app is supported on the 6p??
I used to be a huge supporter and user of Themer but earlier this year when the developers all but abandoned the app and their forms here on the website I gave it up.
From what I've seen they have never even officially supported the Nexus 6, so waiting for it to get supported for the Nexus 6 P may take longer than you're willing to wait.
I guess they have picked development backup of the app but don't answer any questions and I have heard that they aren't adding any new themes to the theme store but that you can go by designed ones elsewhere.
I am currently using Hola Launcher. Pretty nice, simple, lightweight.
Now, if you're really interested in trying it out on your Nexus 6 P it may actually work. It worked perfectly fine on the g3 before they made it "compatible". All you have to do is find an apk download of it and side load it on your device.
Nexus 6p has layers a different for of themes strait if off the box ....root and get layers manager from app store ... Get some layers and find which one you like

First of all thank you so much for your reply. I noticed you said to download apk and then sideload. Does that mean the app is no longer available on the playstore???
Hey All
I currently have an ageing Nexus 6p and looking at getting a Pixel 2, Im considering going root free for the first time since the Galaxy Nexus. Has anyone left root and what are your experiences and is there a way to restore app data on a stock phone without root?
Thanks in advance
I was forced into going to no root on my old GS5. HATED IT. Like seriously it was dreadful. My use of root is for just a few main reasons:
1. Ad blocking with Adaway.
2. enable tethering on legacy Unlimited plan (build.prop edit)
3. App Control (no bloat, no crapola)
My Current ROOT apps are:
1. File Explorer
2. Adaway
3. greenify (magisk)
4. Magisk
5. Custom Navbar (I like my back button on the right side because I am right handed)
I stopped flashing custom roms back in the GS3 days and have just enjoyed a few system mods ever since. for the last few months of the GS5, it was completely dreadful. I personally will never own another Samsung AT&T device.
Google now does a good job of app restoration but it does not offer the data restore like TiBu does.
Used to root every phone and tablet. Was getting a little overwhelmed with so many options... I went root free with new Nexus 6p. Haven't looked back. Using Nova launcher pro though.

Have rooted every device since the beginning of time!!!
No compromise without
1.Adaway (thumbs!!)
2.Tasker (of course!)
3.Greenify
4.EX kernel app
5.lucky patcher(yeah but not for crazy stuff I've purchased these paid apps and never will do that to a developer)
6.kernel Tasker
I don't use custom ROM because stock is enough but with a powerful kernel we r free to go with no lags
Love my 6P I could say Google's new pixel 2 xl that panda coloured one was inspired from Nexus 6p design..(just look at the back sides) they look gorgeous
I need root for the tethering. I'm on cricket wireless and the tethering doesn't work without root. Or do u guy know a way to get tethering without root?

Guys, my phone is 7T and it's OnePlus launcher doesn't have the Google Feed in the home screen instead it has OnePlus Shelf feature. A couple of months ago I read that OnePlus 8 series ditched the shelf and replaced it with Google Feed. May I please know is it true? If yes, which version of OnePlus launcher does your phone have?

Good day, I would like to ask in this community a question, I recently bought the Kindle HD 10 (2019) and I am very happy with it but obviously the Amazon customization layer seems terrible to me, after investigating I found in this community a tool to remove everything from Amazon and I thought it was great, a great job, very grateful, but the only thing that I couldn't remove was the launcher, that's why I've come to ask you if you can recommend launchers for this tablet, I can't find one that convinces me, thanks in advance .
Any other applications for the tablet that you can suggest will be well received

The answer will be Nova Launcher. I guess we all tried all sorts of launchers but always end up using Nova Launcher. The premium/paid version is sometimes for sales for 99 cents

After download the new version of the Amazon Fire Tools v9 It comes configured with 3 launchers to install, among them is the Nova which I tried but I was bothered by the advertising in its free version so I tried the Microsoft one and the truth seems very good, I liked it, I will continue testing it a few days but I'm very happy at the moment, thank you for your suggestion.
i have a qustion, for you one plus users..
im a pixel nexus user for a long time.
no pixel 5 xl this year. (BUMBER)
question is if i root the one plus device can i get all google apps . that i grown to love all these years. ????
i dont want to custom ROM . i could live with Oxygen OS
Yes, you can. And if you also root, you can get the Google dialer framework as well
Yes, a lot of google App's are included in stock os. The one's not included can be downloaded from the playstore...
Your thread says 9Pro, but this is the 8Pro.
I did not think there was a 9pro thread yet..
I was under the impression that some Google apps, are exclusive to pixel.
Like for example
Camera app.
Phone app.
Google assistant.
Calendar.
Digital well-being.
Live transcribe and sound notifications.
Just to name a few..
The phone and the camera app really are the only things that the oneplus doesn't have. The camera app is easily installed without root. I think for the phone app to work seamlessly, you'd need to root your phone.
