I'm still on stock NI2 4.4.4, but I rooted many moons ago. Ever since Google updated their Wallet app to the new Wallet with Android pay, I can't use Wallet with NFC. I used to use the vending machine, but now it says "android pay cannot be used" and it kicks me back out. I tried temp unrooting with SuperSU, as well as RootCloak. I even tried older versions of the Wallet app, but nothing works. Anyone have luck with this? Maybe I should cross post in the Unified S5 thread.
As far as I know they removed the 'tap to pay' function from Wallet. You can only use it with Android Pay.

Do you think it could be your ROM? Try using a different one something on your ROM might screw with it

It does for some. People have temporarily disabled su, added cards in android pay, then re enabled su. I've had no luck with it though, but wss hoping others might have.

Only on rooted models. Xposed nosafevolunewarning or gravitybox for example, or whole custom rom with fix.
S7E powered by Echoe™ v5
We need a better answer than this. Rooting isnt an option for everyone, and from what ive seen, might not be possible with this phone without causing major issues.
What do you mean "We need a better answer"?!?
This is the only way to disable the warning, you have to root!!! If you cannot or do not want to root then you have to live with the warning!
+1 rooting + something like xposed (for instance) is the only way.
I have xposed installed and nosafevolumewarning doesn't work for me...

Has anyone been able to install Google Assistant on their A7? I have the Axon 7, Nexus 5x and Pixel. I am going to return either the Axon 7 or Pixel. I have Google Assistant on Both of the other phones and am wondering if it's possible on the Axon. I have yet to really use my Pixel because i am trying out this Axon and actually really liking it but......... I like rooting. I don't want to void the 2 year warranty on the Axon but would rooting w/o bootloader unlocking void it? Is it the bootloader unlock that voids?
Thanks for any help received.

They said that they were reworking the bootloader unlock method. I'd wait for that, then install Xposed, then install Android n-ify. They added Google assistant to the module.

Google Assistant? I checked the repository, and the last update they had was back in May, which does not have the Google Assistant.

Does Axon void warranty with Rooting? Seeing as there is a locked bootloader root.
There is an Xposed mod for just goggle assistant. I'm running it on my a2017u rooted and unofficial bl unlocked

No. Only the bootloader unlock which they are replacing.
Replacing the bootloader? Or they are changing the policy?

Are you using android N-ify? if so can u tell me which build number you installed? I tried to install build 712 yesterday but it ****ed the UI up, especially the notification toggles. Google Assistant was working though but I had to remove it since the UI was messed up.
Nope just the assistant mod no n-ify mod

Changing the method and policy that hopefully only voids soft and not hardware warranty.
Will this module work on a rooted xposed device with LOCKED bootloader ?

Do you know how to tell if I'm using the new Google Assistant vs the old OK Google/Google Now?
I installed and activated the Google Assistant module from Xposed and rebooted. When I long press the home button or say "OK Google" it seems the same as before, just like using the old Google Now.
A2017U B27 unlocked, rooted
Google App version 6.5.35.21.arm64
Assistant Enabler module 1.0
Xposed 3.0 alpha4

When you long press you should see the Google assistant symbol instead of the Google now one. I'm not connect to data in the pic.

Maybe this will help?
Got it working by installing an apk of beta Google App 6.6.14.21.arm64, rather than the latest stable build available in the Play Store (6.5.something). Uninstalled and reinstalled Xposed Assistant Enabler 1.0 module, rebooted, works. When reading the Xposed description of the Assistant module, it specifically mentions 6.6.14.21.
FYI, saying "OK Google" to start the Google Assistant currently does not work; it continuously opens the configure voice tutorial, even if you've configured it before. The Xposed module developer is aware of the issue. Long pressing the Home button opens the Assistant correctly.
Hi,
Is there a way to remove the camera shortcut button on lock screen, tried to search on setting couldn't find the option. Thanks!
If you are rooted, you could try using substratum and install "lockclean". Both of these are on the play store. Are you on Oreo or Nougat?

You can use substratum without Root, but you're gonna need to pay for Andromeda, which lets you use substratum on Oreo, without any Root access.
I've searched and someone said last year it was an issue. I've tried two different rooted roms (One 9.0 and one 8.1) and neither will allow ok google to work. I'd just root stock but I need tasker wifi tether automation which doesn't seem to work on the rooted stock roms for some reason. Neither does secure settings.
Thanks
Dave

LineageOS does. I've been using it for Oreo on Nexus and Assistant works fine.

I mean at all. It never works. When I tried to even activate it manually it was delayed. With that said, it was a freshly wiped brand new phone so I'm not sure what that was all about.
