Hi,
Is there a way to upgrade from OxygenOS 3.5.6 to 3.5.8 on encrypted OnePlus 2? Installation failed systematically.
Thank you

I worked perfectly. Thank you
How about for a regular phone owner who doesn't know how to 'download the zip file and sideload' Surely updates should be possible on an encrypted phone without any of that. Oneplus should make a straightforward download available that works for encrypted phones..

In a command prompt on a Windows PC (with adb and drivers installed) whilst connected to your phone.
As of April the 13th, there is also a solution from oneplus, which involves installing updated updater app, after which the ota update works on encrypted device.

*****Important: Known issues and fixes:
Unable to upgrade to 3.5.8 for encrypted devices
Fix: Download this apk, install it. Go to Settings > System updates > Proceed to download the OTA package and reboot to upgrade to 3.5.8.
For those who have encrypted their devices but have yet to update their phones, please also perform the steps above in order to upgrade to 3.5.8.

I just got the new T-Mobile update, but I haven't flashed it. How do I get it off the phone? I looked in /cache and /download and it's not in either. I am rooted so I have access to all the folders.
Thanks
Same here. Trying to figure out how to pull the OTA for you guys.
Have you guys tried this method? Starting from #6 on.

There is now I had made one earlier today for my new N6Shamu rom which uses the LYZ28J as a base. I de-odexed it as well. While I was making the rom, I edited the kernel so it does not force encrypt. Try this flashable zip and let me know how you get on.

Not sure if these two posts are related and I'm probably doing something wrong trying to apply this update. I am stock rooted with the MultiROM version of TWRP 2.8.7. When I go into ADB Sideload, ADB loses the connection so I can't sideload. I just updated to Windows 10 Pro too, so I don't know if that is related either.
These are the commands I used after I connected my phone:
adb devices (works)
adb reboot recovery (works)
In TWRP - Advanced, then ADB Sideload (works)
Swipe to Start Sideload (connection lost)
Cancel (connection restored)
Any tips or help to get this installed would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue. I found this somewhere and it worked:
From a command prompt (administrator):
adb devices and be sure it shows your device serial number.
adb reboot recovery
Use the Power button and Volume + button to get past the green droid with the red sign.
Unplug the usb cord from the PC and then plug it back in.
In W10, go to Device Manager.
Find your phone under Other Devices with a Yellow !.
Right click on it and choose "Update Driver Software"
Choose "Browse my computer", then "Let me pick from a list."
If you see categories, select "Android Device", then select "Android ADB Interface".
The driver will install and adb sideload should proceed with the update.
What a PITA but it worked.

I'm guessing you're using TWRP recovery.
The problem is you can't flash incremental updates via TWRP, you need to flash the complete ROM zip. It's about 1.2GB and you can't find a mirror link on AndroidFileHost
No i am not using twrb.
I just changed my phone location using VPN and got the latest update via ota.
Once i reboot as part of installation it says "failure to upgrade?"

Download rom from the given link. Take nandroid backup of your device (assuming you have TWRP). Wipe dalvik, system, Data cache and perform a clean install. First reboot will take some time.
(Warning: You will lose data)
or just download the signed incremental OTA and flash that file via TWRP
Enjoy!!!

4. Flash boot.img Oreo 3 in recovery

You don't even have to sideload it if you're using the factory zip. Just flash it like you would any other ROM in TWRP.
But it's an successful way...
We all know that different methods possible...
I was just offering a little less convoluted way of doing it. I didn't realize the king had spoken.

Hello all,
I am several versions behind on my P2XL simply because it is rooted and I have to it manually. Haven't had time to do it but I know I am missing out on several security updates that seem to be rather important so it is time to update. I would prefer not to wipe my phone; however, since j am so many versions behind maybe it's better to do so?
Curious am I able to just install the February update over my current October build or do I have to push each update to the device before moving to the next?
Please let me know, thanks so much

You can just use the Feb update. You don't need to go thru all the updates to that point. And you don't have to wipe the device. Just run the flash all batch file in the factory image with the -w removed.
You will have to download the full ota from Google's page and flash it if you want to skip every incremental update.

And/or you can flash the February OTA via twrp if fastboot isn't your cup-o-tea. However, no matter what route you choose, you'll still have to install twrp and root again. Happy flashing :good:

Are you also using Dolby on top of Viper, I was for a while with great results but can't seem to find Dolby 9 as opposed to the 8.1 I was using previously.

Yep, using Dolby as well. Here, you can use my copy :good: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1B5oSZ96oi7JC_IQnU1qiNPwQWPjr72aL/view?usp=drivesdk
As far as updating, make sure your platform-tools are up to date. Extract the February update, and place all those files in your platform-tools folder.
Then edit the flash-all.bat file, removing the -w, and leaving a space between the remaining words, and save the edit.
Put your phone in bootloader mode, plug it in to your pc, open a command prompt on your platform-tools folder, and type: fastboot flash-all
Let it do it's thing, then boot up to the OS to make sure it's all good.
Then fastboot into twrp, flash the twrp installer zip, then flash magisk zip, then your custom kernel(if used) Boot up, and there ya go
