I just got done rooting, is gapps necessary for the US 996 V20, if so can you provide a site or a link please. I have a rom butnot sure about gapps.
thanks
If you have the play store then there is no need for gapps. Gapps should only be necessary for ROMs based on AOSP or Lineage OS.

thank you for the reply ! but I have downloaded from the link in the this topic aicp rom open GApps and many people are also vulnerable and are in need of the support of developer
The problem is not the developer responsibility. It is the Lineage base rom that is picky about certain Gapps. So all the after market versions (CRdroid, Resurrection Remix, & AICP) for the KLTEVZW are similar. It also helps to wipe cache, data, system, & dalvik before installing. I have used all these roms and consistently Open gapps arm 7.1 mini works for me.

unfortunately not, and i don't know why. i mean, the device has a snapdragon 410 which is developer-friendly so this isn't a problem, maybe it is because of the lack of developers using this tablet.
Is it possible to port other Galaxy Tab A variant custom rom to SM-T550?
Lol i need the kernel so i can try ubuntu touch on 550
UPDATE on Lineage OS for SM-T550
I found a custom rom for the sm-t550 running Lineage OS with Nougat 7.1.2. I installed it on my tablet and it ran pretty smoothly. I had an issue with google play services crashing though. Here's the process of how I did it.
First I downloaded the zip file by visiting Android Biits website and enter SM-T550 in the search. Should be the first link
Then I copied the zip file to the sd card of my sm-t550
Boot to recovery and do a backup (strongly advise)
Now do a factory reset/wipe data
Install the zip from sd card
Install Gapps for Nougat 7.1.2
Reboot the device and proceed with the setup and enjoy!
If anyone can solve the google play services crashing please let me know because I like this rom and would like keep it.
SM-T550 with Lineage OS 14.1
I have this ROM installed, but there's no audio through the devices speakers. The Play Store doesn't crash for me. I flashed open Gapps pico version. And I have Magisk running with Xposed framework installed. I have to use bluetooth headphones for sound though. I don't really mind having no sound, but if there's a fix, that would be ideal. This is by far the best ROM I have installed on this device thus far. Completely debloated and runs smoothly. I left a message on androidbiits about the sound issue. Hopefully deadman from github that created the ROM can do an update.

I use AospExtended on my device and OpenGapps works fine.
Make sure to get gapps like this
ARM -> 7.1 -> pico
if downloaded gapps with given instructions still dosent works then you maybe downloaded a corrupted zip file.
Hey, guys.
Is there any rom for Lavender that does not require flashing gapps with every rom update?
It's kinda annoying to do clean flash every time it's updated.
Hello, this rom includes the gapps, I do not know if it is stable and if everything works: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3940289
Afaik the Pixel Experience and Evolution X has pre-install Gapps on the ROM
I finally installed Resurrection Remix and installed BeansGapps, But BeansGapps hasn't been updated since 2017 and the devs for RR still recommends it.
I really wanted to try OpenGApps because It's the latest but I read that there are problems on it. Is there actually any bugs on OpenGApps? Should I switched it to Open or should I stick it with Beans? and how do I reinstall GApps?
They're just GApps after all, they have no difference but of the way it installs and supported Arch's.
Open GApps are running fine, don't worry if Beans hasn't been updated, google apps shall update their apps automatically, forcibly, you won't even see any difference.
