Is there a special kind of wireless charger I am going to need to buy for this phone? It's my first of this kind.
Should work with QI or PMA wireless chargers. Qi is the more popular standard and has more options available.
Fast Wireless Charging?
Does any one know if it supports Fast wireless charging?
I Have been trying to find the wireless charging specs on the phone no luck so far.

Does not support fast wireless charging. Ive tried 3 different fast chargers and the phone will only do standard wireless charging speeds. LG also stated they did not incorporate fast wireless charging and I believe it was due to the way the phone is being cooled.

No Problem. The sammy charger still works just not fast. I have one next to my bed so at night I drop it on and by morning its full. Thats about the only purpose I can see making sense though.
Just got a Samsung wireless charger
I got the Samsung circular stand charger that comes with both cable and plug and I'm impressed by how fast it charges. I am however a little concerned that the charging light doesn't change from blue to green when the phone reaches 100%. It stays lit and even the phone still indicates that it is still charging.
Should I be worried about this or is that normal?

As far as I know, quality chargers would slow down the charging at the 99% and keep topping the phone up, that way it keeps the battery safe from overcharging and it maintains the battery. I don't have exact science in detail in my head nor have any article saved to provide the link, but I think that this must be it. Look up your particular's charger's specifications online.

Hi, since I installed the most recent Verizon OTA update for my S7 Edge, fast charge has not worked. When I plug the phone in the included samsung fast charger, it charges over 6 hours. However, wireless fast charging does continue to work.
Any ideas of why this is? Fast charge is enabled in my settings.
Go to Settings-> Battery-> Fast cable charging ON
---------- Post added at 12:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 PM ----------
Then make sure your cable is pushed all the way in your charger. Try another wall socket or another cable.
Yes, it's enabled. I've tried another wall socket and cable.
I tried resetting my phone, but the fast charge still doesn't work. Very odd.

For me it's been the opposite. Wired still works like a champ, but wireless fast charge is very spotty and I have to pick up and set down the phone a few times to get "fast" to finally show up.

That might be case dependent. I have a thin case that works well with wireless charging, and another that is thicker and that one I have to position more carefully.

I have the Unicorn Beetle Supercase witch is thick and have no problems with the Samsung fast wireless charger. I go from about 20% to 100 in about 1 and a half hours.

Hey guys, one of my co-workers has a S8 (Cricket). He just noticed that under his settings in the battery section, there is no toggle to enable Fast Wireless Charging under the Advanced options.
I've been searching here as well as in Google for any answers. I've seen a thread or two randomly on other forums, one was a VZW customer who apparently found from their customer service, that there was a known issue on some devices and the fast wireless charging option was removed. Not sure if this was in a series of production, maybe earlier production devices? That specific thread was from the beginning of Dec 2017.
I've really found no concrete answers, and actually don't get anything when I search that is specific to Cricket Devices. I've got an ATT S8+, and I have the option and actually use fast wireless charging every night.
Hoping someone knows a way to force it back, or if this is something to be fixed by Samsung?
***EDIT - I just realized that my boss doesn't have fast wireless charging either, she hasn't been able to use the fast charger we got her for Christmas. She has a Vzw S8+.
TIA
It's available after first use with a fast wireless charger. Just put it on the charger and it will be there. Hope this helps.

We put it on a known working fast wireless charger, no dice. It was actually tried for a short period (30 minutes) and then completely charged on a fast wireless charger overnight. Option still isn't there, nor did it fast charge ever while on the charger.
Anyone else have a suggestion?

Yes that's correct
You need a fast wireless charger which is plugged in with a fast or quickcharge adaptor otherwise it won't work

Which one?
On mine it's just a matter of whether or not it's plugged into a fast charging brick. If I want slow charge, I use a charger other than the one that came with the phone. Works on my Verizon S8+ no problem

Choetech, using a fast charging brick and cable from a Samsung S7. Works fine for my ATT dev, have tested with another ATT dev (Note 8) and it worked fine on it as well.
I use the following. Cheap and cheerful. Plus all of them are fast.

It's Not the Charger, block/travel plug or lead.
I am, and always have been a loyal Samsung user since the (slide up) D500 which I still have btw.
Had every other S model as my provider contract is over 18 months so tend to miss a model. S4, S6 now on S8+ and had charger port issues with them all. So Samsung changed the port, and lead to one that even an idiot like me can plug in whilst driving in the dark without breaking it. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when my S8 stopped fast charging. As the title states, I have only ever used the charger and lead supplied with the handset and after past issues am ULTRA carefull when charging.
So I bought a Samsung (EP-PG9201) wireless fast charger. Using S8's f/charger block + lead from my S6 placed S8 on it and yeah, it charges but no fast charge? Followed all the settings advice but no Accessories option in Advanced Features, Device Maintenance, Battery, Advanced Settings but no wireless charge option (fast or otherwise) Yet prior to my purchase I checked these settings to see if S8 was compatable and the wireless option was there but greyed out but now it's gone!?!
Soz for the waffle but IT'S WOUND ME UP 100% Any help or advice that doesn't include charger, block, lead, settings, phone case or software updates would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys
Blacksnake
It works..!!!
Thank you... It actually works.
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Nokia 6 (2018) can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
There's an 18W charger included. I believe the claims of 50% in 30 minutes are pretty accurate.

hi guys,
I have recently bought this smartphone and I have one question. When I use its own charger the default mode of charging is fast charging but I don't want always to use fast charging since it's not good for the battery life-time. Is there anyway I can do to disable fast charging?
thanks

I believe the only way is to use another charger, because this is all hardware related.
Hi people,
are there any other 3rd party chargers for nokia 6 that you would recommend.

Hi. I have just bought this phone and it was all fine. I needed another charger for work so bought a 3Rd party one. It was fine the first few times, but now when I connect it the phone automatically shuts down and will not start again. According to the tech that checked it out, the battery was completely flat.
I suspect I can only use a OEM charger. Really inconvenient.
Nokia lie about fast charge between 0 % to 50 % in 30 minutes . I tested it many time 50 minutes to charge 50 %

Not true. I have never used the OEM charger. Fast charging is tough on the battery as others have said. I have several other chargers (one came with my audio chromecast, one came with an old HTC phone, one is a no-name charger). They are rated anywhere from 1 amp to 1.9 amps. All have worked perfectly. At work I leave my phone on my desk so leaving it plugged in until charged regardless of how long it takes is no big deal. I also make sure to take it off charge once it reaches 100%. It is not good to leave it on charge when full.
More than 2 amps at 5vdc are overkill for the battery and it's causing nothing but a superfast degradation but hey we have superfast charge on a cheapster ...

I'm using an old Aukey QC2.0 charger that I bought 3 years ago for my Zenfone2, it charges quick too. Using a meter I checked that the Nokia charger is using QC3.0 and for instance can charge at 6V/2A or about whatever voltage it wants, but my QC2.0 charger is 5/9/12V only and with a meter I checked it is charging at 9V and ~1.6A. My car charger is also a QC2.0 charger and works too, on the lock screen is it written "fast charging" and yes, it does.
The chargers I use daily for 3 years now (I have the old 2.0 version but now they are 3.0 version)
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Charge-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B01BBZJ31Y
https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Samsung-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B01B2BMIMS
so practically using QC 2.0 and QC 3.0 got same charging speed? so what is the advantage of using QC 3.0? can anyone give some info?
QC2.0 is something like 5V/2A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A, while QC3.0 voltage range is wider, something like 5V to 20V, requested by the device, it can be 6V/3A for instance. Battery management is better I guess.

For Nokia 6.1 plus yes, tested.

They didn't disable anything - it doesn't have the Qualicom Quick Charge variant, but it does have it's own variant of a rapid charge.
Using two wall chargers I have here and a Benson certified USB-C Cable, one of the wall chargers support QC2.0 and the other QC3.0. Both charged "normally" reporting on the screen as "Charging".
Using the stock USB-C wall charger that came with my 6P, using EX Kernel and the stock kernel from January 8.1 stock ROM, both reported "Charging Rapidly". I switched kernels using EXKM and a backup of the stock Kernel to test this.
Also, I bought a Tronsmart USB-C Car Charger, and it too reports "Charging Rapidly".

Hey everyone,
So I got my nexus 3 Months ago, I just found out NOW that it is not fast charging at all. I bought a new ANKER charger and wire with it and its just charging slowly which got me really annoyed as I wasted money on it because I thought it had nothing to do with the phone at all. I did some digging around and the maker of franco kernel found out that bloody google disabled the bloody fast charging on the 6P?! What kind of solution is that? I mean they could of at least gave us options on whether to disable or enable it in the phone. Is there ANY way to get fast charging enabled on this phone?

Nexus 6p just charges at a higher amperage then most average phones. As long as you use a charger with 5V/3A you should get charging rapidly. Just remember as the battery percentage increases the amps get lower. Use an app like ampere to make sure your getting close to 3000mA. I think the highest charge I seen on the stock plug was like 2800mA.
Well I bought an ANKER Charger and usb cable with it which definitely says it is fast charging compatible. When it comes to charging my phone I got a small text on my lock screen showing me how much charge there is going to the phone while charging. The average charging mAh is 1,400 and the voltage is 4.3V. I am pretty sure that it has reached a higher charge rate....I'll have to keep an eye on it. Do you think thats an acceptable charging rate?
It's not just about amperage, because some of their chargers are a whopping 8A - https://www.anker.com/ca/products/108/203/Wall-Chargers
Anker doesn't support the variant of rapid charging that the 6P accepts, therefore it only will negotiate down to a normal "charging" rate, which IIRC is exactly what you're getting.

This just happened to me today as I tried wireless charging for the first time. Was testing with Samsung 15W charger, gonna look for another charger to see what that does.
Edit: Samsung 15W charger with 25W power supply did not work, Oneplus 50W with 65W adapter worked. Tried the power bricks with both chargers, only 50W+65W combo worked. Looks like it is a little picky with chargers.
Epico Wireless Stand Pro also charging slowly. Charging also stops from time to time. Might be firmware issua?
Alignment seems to need to be pretty much perfect to work...
Already sick of waking up to an uncharged phone so have switched to wired for now.

My BMW has a charging box, same like a charging pad. When I put my phone inside, it doesn't charge.
I always need to hold the phone 1-2 cm above the charging pad for like 5 Seconds. Then it starts charging and I can lay it down on the pad.
It's like the phone has to perform any handshake with the charger first and when it is too close it doesn't work.
Maybe it works in the same way for you.
According to Ampere, the Nothing Phone 1 stop wireless charging as soon as it reaches 38 degrees (celsius), which is incredibly low
