I'm using Ext2Explore to open system.ext4 ROM file, but the GUI is buggy and the sorting feature that mixes folders and files makes me very confusing.
I can't just use Ubuntu because i'm not a linux expert and my PC is running Windows
Do you know which program is better?
EDIT: Use 7-ZIP

Open partition
or
Drag&drop system.ext4 file

I have written a little app that allows for altering of the SDConfig.txt file used in UC, with the ability to create "CAB: ....." statements automatically after the user has selected a CAB. The same works for XML and SHOW commands.

}
Requirements:
.NET CF 3.5
Only useful with a UC compatible ROM
QVGA device
Usage
Either load the "Default" (Storage Card\SDConfig.txt", "Other" (a file of your choosing) or create a new file.
Click on images at the top of the page and select files.
Save file as either "Default" (Storage Card\SDConfig.txt" or "Other" (a file of your choosing).
Know Issues:
When using an empty file, new line is created at the top of the page.
Future plans:
Bug fixes!
Addition of "browse" rather than search functionality.
Cab file rather than exe.
Ability to call SDAutoRun automatically for testing.
VGA Compatability.

Anyone can help me ..

If that's the case, save the file to somewhere like \My Documents and then copy it to the root of your internal memory manually.
This is a freeware that I found by Hou Ming that addresses all the missing features that should have been included in the Windows Mobile stock File Explorer.

Some of the new fatures :
*Resizable header for easy sorting by file name, date of last modification or size
*Tree view of folders; you can now jump easily from a location to any other on your device in one step
*Show extension option for those who ask themselves the same question I do: “What type of file is this?
*Icon view that enables the display of files as icons similar to your desktop computer
*Real time image preview; now you don’t have to open several files in order to send the one you desire
*Open with Program allows you easily select an application to open the specific file you select (useful in case you don’t have the correct file associations or when you want Album app to open your images instead of Windows default picture viewer.
*File property context menu for easy renaming and attribute changing
*Open all executables with Parameters in case you need a special parameter when launching an application
*Sending shortcut to Programs for instant shortcut creation of executables placed directly in Programs folder in Start Menu.

CEListFiles
From time to time I have the "pleasure" to see my WindowsMobile device struggle with low storage / low main memory. I get that low memory message and have no clue, what caused the problem, which program used the place up or what data files should rather be saved on memory card. Searching for files I can delete on the device itself is painfully slow, especially if I examine the Windows folder and it'S sub-folders. Using ActiveSync and the Explorer on the DesktopPC is better but not efficient too. So I wrote a little tool for myself I want to share with whomever it appeals to use it.

CEListFiles is a tool that displays the device's file/folder structure on your Desktop PC. There are a few special features:
it shows each folders size including all subfolders
it shows ROM files with a little "R" in the icon
it lets you export and import the file/folder structure so you can compare it to a previous state or have the file/folder structure analysed by a more experienced user without need to have access to the device
CEListFiles is easy to use:
connect your device to your DesktopPC via ActiveSync
select the folder you want to examine in the edit field ("/" for the all folders)
click the button bottom left
Attached you find the most recent version CEListFiles 1.5
If you like CEListFiles just buy me a beer.
I'm impressed: great work!
usefull for me too, let's test the speed

No sign of any zip here. There's tar archive inside rar archive... tar archive isn't compressed.

Yes, thats exactly what i did.
Hi mate! So how can i use it?
bro if you don't know what ?,stay away from this thread.
I was bored of .apk files either having Winrar icons or simply being a blank slate. This quick little guide changes said icons to anything of your choice.
1) Download FiletypesMan - 32bit, 64bit.
2) Extract this download to another folder and launch FileTypesMan:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3) Download your preferred icon (.ico files only) which will represent all .apk files. I personally use the following:
.ico version download
4) Note: A majority of the images you will find will be .png, I used the following website to convert it quickly: http://www.convertico.com/
5) While in FileTypesMan go to Edit - New File Extension or press CTRL + T:
6) Enter the following, making sure to choose your required icon and press OK:
7) Verify apk entry, the quickest way being CTRL + F and typing apk:
8) The effect should be immediate and can be tested by viewing any apk file:
Enjoy!
Awesome post, thanks a lot!
Alternatively:
(on XP)
Open an explorer window
go to menu: tools
menu: folder options
tab: file types
look for the .apk file type
click: advanced button
click: change icon button
...et voila!
Thanx
very useful. Thank you
