Actually I'm having problems coz' it does nothing. Only there's an icon saying that rooting is in progress and it's not rebooting. Maybe becasue I don't have unlocked bootloader on it?

..only way to use 4.4 with calling is the chinese rom without gapps and no rooting required.
..am satisfied at the moment
***** 4.2.2 rooted and calling function enabled.*****

Same case here, new device and need root :S
Same here. This model is big in Asia, and it seems that there are no root for this device yet
Root is available

I fail to understand why anyone would flip the knox counter by rooting but not install custom recovery?
Where is the sense in that? Absolutely bemusing :what:.
Haven't taken the new firmware yet. Can I still root with engboot?

Was reported in the general section that you can't.
Where? Having trouble finding the reference. Thank you!

You cant... and the V4 bootloader prevents you from going back to rootable firmware. Sorry... unless a new roit method is discovered, your **** out of luck
I just rooted PH1... Follow all guides as usual. No reason to downgrade to PG5.

But will Odin go back to older firmware? Or are you stuck on PH1 bootloader? Thx for confirmation.
Probably stuck, but you should still be able go between the latest U and V firmwares. I am giving up on a non engboot root method. Sammy signed that kernel so it should always flash and permit root. But, that's not a well educated guess...

You can't. The only reason we can is because we have a leaked engineering kernel that allows root. Sadly Verizon killed root on the S6 about a year ago.

Hello, I just tried rooting my verizon s7 edge on the ph1 update using the link someone on this thread provided to someone else and am now stuck in a bootloop with the verizon logo stuck on the screen. How did you achieve root on yours? by using the same steps? Also, what do you think could have possibly went wrong and how would I be able to fix this? Your help would be much appreciated.

If you're stuck on the boot logo, you HAVE TO factory reset the device. When I rooted this happened to me and after doing the factory reset, it worked like a charm

Oh wow.... haha thank you. I was really trying to avoid doing the factory reset but I figured since I will be doing a clean install anyways then why not. lol So it worked the second time you tried to root?

When I was stuck, I did and the factory reset and it booted up right and I didn't have to re-flash the kernel. If dosen't boot up right away, re-flash stock firmware, don't dis able anything, then flash the kernel and it will work .

Oh ok, well hopefully it boots right up. lol So I really haven't been into rooting and flashing roms for awhile now so Id thought I give it a try on this phone. What would you say would be best for performance/stability/battery life as far as roms go? Or do you just stick with stock? i do not do a whole lot on my phone and I also don't really use much of the features that came along with the s7 edge. i just use it for light gaming/social media/picture taking. So I guess what I am asking is what is your recommendation?
I've tried Kingroot, odin flashing which nearly gave me a heart attack because I thought I bricked my phone because rooting failed and I don't know what to do anymore. Hopefully someone with the same phone as me can help me out? Or anything at all would be amazing. I am very new to rooting so information on it would be terrific. Thank you all in advance!
Kingroot sucks, on what android version are you and what model are your phone ?

I've rooted my One M9et with Kingroot smoothly so I thought I could get the same experience with my S6 Edge Plus, unfortunutely that wasn't the case. I am on Android 7.0 and my device model is G9287. Cheers!

On galaxy s6 edge plus you can only use kingroot on Android lollipop... If you are on nougat then you first need to flash twrp and then as soon as you get twrp access you can easily flash superuser flashable zip through TWRP.
Press thanks If i HELPED :fingers-crossed:

Same reason as the U. No way to get root in.
I think the A20S would be better with root. Especially because you could then also adjust the kernel. Unfortunately, the A20S is often lagged.
