Just got new OTA today for Osprey 2GB 1540 got January 1 2017 security patch. I was shocked this is the first OTA I have gotten on my wifes phone since we did the initial OTA update when we bought it to get 6.0. Did anyone else get it? Build # MPIS24.65-25.1-14

I was prompted with a Jan 2017 patch update this morning as well. Osprey, 2GB, 1540 model. Update Version: 24.211.14.en.US (from the system update notice)
I haven't accepted it yet.
I am using XT1541 1GB model and I went back to stock ROM with stock Recovery few weeks ago . I recieved two security updates one after another which I acceptede an disntalled succesfully . However I am not sure if you have a custom recovery and whether they will be compatible with customer recovery . One of them was security update an dsecodn one included support for security+ unicode 8 support in text messages or something like that
usually they wont work with custom recovery. Nice to see they are at least giving us security patches, since we wont get 7.0 officially. (as of now anyway)
Well, just over a year of phone uptime, haha. I was seeing how long it would go before crapping out, and now Motorola wants to give us security updates from the past year and 3 months.
I'm not sure I'll give this phone another year of use to try again.

I received it as well for my XT 1540. See this. Still have not updated; waiting to find enough time time to restore pre-rooted ROM and rebuild. I am interested in others (with a rooted stock ROM) experience in flashing latest OTA.

There is no such thing.
I received the security patch, switched to stock recovery before trying to install, but was unsuccessful, I have root/xposed so it seems you need to have an unmodified system partition to work
anyone knows a way to apply the ota successfully without flashing stock system first, or at least a way to get rid of the annoying notification, prompting for the update?

Hello guys!
I updated my moto g TE (xt1556), to january security patch, but I'm having problem to install xposed, after install stuck on warning bootloader, anyone more having this issue? or any idea how can I fix that?
I've installed the update on my XT1541 (non-rooted), but I'm not too happy about it. Had twice issues with network connectivity and it generates a bugreport every 2 hours or so. Haven't had the time to look at a report to see what crashes...

Just got a software update notification on my G5. I don't see any version number or details, anyone else get the notification?
I just got it, did the update, and was wondering the same. I was hoping to get a surprise android 7 update. I guess it would be too much to ask for LG or any manufacturer to release an update with an android version released 6 months ago.
The one good thing I can say about apple. When they release an update it gets pushed out. They dont let the manufacture and then the carrier finger f#%^ it for a year before making it available.
AT&T update also
I also just got the update, in fact it's still installing ... Phone nows says Android Version 6.0.1, Kernel 3.18.20, Build MMB29M Software version H82011n ... no idea yet what is different
I just got the notification. I'm not installing it as long as the phone doesn't forcefeed it, that last H82011K buggered my phone pretty bad and it gives me flashbacks of bootloops and factory resets now when an update pops up.

AT&T has finally started rolling out the long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat update to its variant of the LG G5.
---------- Post added at 03:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:29 AM ----------
Currently downloading the update now.
Yep just got the update on my phone.
It has been a week and have gotten the notification twice and been unable to download it on the Wi-Fi network I was on. Now I don't get it at home and even when I set the clock ahead it says android is up to date. What gives?
It's only too bad Nougat is so greedy for battery. Look at that - 37 minutes screen on and I'm down to 48% left. Awful.
Not worth the upgrade IMO.

1.) Return to the USA, power down your phone and insert your active AT&T Sim card.
2.) Power your phone on and then go to settings>general>about phone>software update.
3.) Press "update now" and wait for update to finish.
Since you aren't yet on the H82011N firmware, you will have to repeat step 2-3 until you are on H82011N, before you can finally update to Nougat, which is H82020J.

I've been looking for a way to capture the actual file myself. Apparently it's impossible for the AT&T G5 because the bootloader is locked and no root is possible, which would be necessary to intercept and copy the actual OTA file.
These problems directly stem from the fact that AT&T will never release a KDZ or TOT for us because they're evil, and ultimately don't want their clients to gain root and potentially extend the life of their phone hardware via 3rd party Roms like CyanogenMod.
Since I am not a developer I am curious whether you can make anything that would for us with the nougat source code for the h820?

Hey,
I just bought new moto G5 plus from flipcart and its model no is XT1686
and it is running NPJ25.137-15 Android version (Running January 1 Security patch)
and now I got OTA for updating to NPJ25.137-67(no security update info given) and I don't know which is safe or not Because I had slimier issue with my moto G4 plus and it got hardbricked and I had to wait a long time for the appropriate blank-flash. So guys anyone can tell me should I update or not? or should I flash stock ROM using Fastboot? Bootloader is locked but Stock firmware doesn't requires unlocked bootloader, right?? PLEASE TELL ME
This is just fine. No reason to suspect Motorola would break your stock phone with a stock update....

Ok I am taking risk the update is about 214 MB in size. I am really worried because Motorola broke my phone(g4 plus) when I installed june security patch when I had January patch ( the march one was missing) so it hardbicked my phone.
I am really worried right now. Is this gonna work?:crying:

You've got a new device, so the chances of your hard bricking are very low, since your bootloader is locked and never been unlocked. Additionally, as others have mentioned, the NPN25.137-67 update is the currently available update for Indian devices. So your device should be unmodified and downloading the recommended update.
But yeah, provided you do not downgrade, you should be okay to receive and flash OTA updates. I still don't quite understand how you bricked your device with the June update, did you downgrade your G4 plus to the December update? I'm confused as to how you flashed the June 2017 OTA update without taking the March patch first...

I got the OTA for installing June Patch and I installed it (I didn't aware of one last patch was missing) I connected my phone to charging, The update was downloaded and started installing, once loading bar reached 75% it went blank. I tried to open boot-loader but it didn't opened, it was worst nightmare. This is why I get worried when Motorola release new update

Yeah, that's what happened with most users with the June 2017 update on Moto G4 devices (and lessons may well apply to G5 users too). If you took the June 2017 update (or for Moto G5 users, the May security patch or newer), then downgraded with an older stock ROM, the OTA would install thinking your device bootloader was on the same patch level as your system (which in this case it wasn't). Thus, the OTA would have corrupted your newer bootloader, leading to a hard brick. You mentioned being on the December/January update, so you'd likely have obtained the March 2017 OTA, which corrupted your June 2017 OTA - else, if it were the same patch level, the OTA would likely have been okay.
In other words, don't downgrade your device and take OTAs, regardless of whether you're on a G4/G5.... Besides, you've still got your warranty with a new G5, so you might as well wait for the next OTA update after 137-67 - hopefully it's soon, as EU - and likely US users - are on the NPNS25.137-33-11 (August 2017 security patch) and other US users are on the May 2017 update (NPNS25.137-35-5)...

Does updating to this impact Adhell2 installs? Will it re-enable all of the bloat that I've disabled already?
I installed this update this morning and I received "Android. System. UI has stopped working" every time my phone tried to boot.
I thought that Substratum StatusBar Icons for Samsung was causing the issue. I was able to boot into safe mode one time and uninstalled Substratum StatusBar Icons, thinking that this would fix my boot issue. My issue was not fixed and I was not able to boot into Safe Mode again without receiving the "Android. System. UI has stopped working" error every time.
I installed Samsung Galaxy S8+US Unlocked Firmware XAA Version Live!!! (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s8+/how-to/galaxy-s8-xaa-version-live-t3613013) so that i can get my phone working again.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on re-installing the updated T-Mo firmware?

In case anyone was wondering, I just decided to test it myself. Before applying the update I re-enabled all of the packages because I read elsewhere that people had an issue if certain Samsung system apps were disabled. I did not uninstall AdHell2, just re-enabled all of the packages. The update went by without any problems and I then disabled all of the packages I want removed from the running system after the update.
The only thing I had to do to get back to my same modified config was re-run the ADB commands to restore the mobile data toggle.

Hello all. Just wondering if there was anyone else still waiting on the Android 8 update? It's April 2019 and I still haven't received it yet. I even tried connecting my phone to my computer through Hi Suite, and it tells me I'm running the latest update. I'm still on Android 7 with EMUI 5. Not sure what's going on. I'd love to get the update though. Any suggestions?
Calm down, this is beautiful for FRD-L04 users, but unfortunately you will receive just B562 update after oreo, then it's the end. End of software support i mean. Honor is making strange things, continuosly update security patches on nougat while forgetting about oreo...as FRD-L09 user (running Oreo since it was officially launched a lot of time ago) i can assure that i've not received any other ota update after oreo and i should manually update even to B562

Same boat here. Been using my device stock from day one and finally got an itch to look into any update past Android 7. Found this thread so I installed Hisuite. Sure don't care what-so-ever for their EULA in their app. It's no wonder folks worry about the security of Huawei devices when you have to give up so much just to get a software update. Anyway I states I too have the latest available updates. For such a great phone hardware wise it feels like a shame how little updates it really got during it's life. Ah, well it still is functionally fine for now so I'll carry on as is.
Does anyone know how I can go to EMUI 8?
I've tried OTA, HiSuite, and Firmware flasher. None of these methods work. Firmware flasher, however does find the EMUI 8.0 upgrade, but even if I proxy the download, it won't show up in OTA update. If I download, it won't flash. Any ideas?
It's 24,19 MB for me, seems like it's only the security update once again.

Somehow you were suggested to download full 11.0.11.0 OTA (it's size is 1.34Gb) instead of incremental 11.0.10.0 -> 11.0.11.0 OTA (24,19Mb).
While http://c.mi.com/oc/miuidownload/detail?device=1700353 still points to full 11.0.10.0 OTA .... probably some dummy instead of updating link in Community Web server accidentally updated link in OTA server ?
Hi all. I've recently updated my newly acquired A2 to Android 10 from Pie. I tether my phone for many hours per day but the phone's Data Usage measurement of Hotspot & tethering is only ~20MB when I know I've used a few GB for the same date period. I don't know if this is a problem introduced in Android 10 or a problem that was there with Pie, as I've only recently started to use the phone. Does anyone else have this problem or know what's going on? thanks

Android 10 version of Mi A2 still has all bugs from January it was realeazed, they don't fix anything. The only thing that maybe they have fixed is the performance. So I guess another bug.

Yes. It's such a shame - it's a well made and good value phone, but these small bugs make it annoying to use. Going custom is probably the best solution, but I don't think I'm ready for that jump yet. The choice of budget to mid range phones has increased a lot in the last couple of years, and Xiaomi no longer have the market to themselves, so it's their loss.
Does anybody have patched boot image?
There in information about call recording added in this update for MI A2. True?
@jorikello, I've applied the June update but there is no recording option when I make a call. Perhaps it's region specific because of local laws on recording - I am in the UK.
Somebody to report call recording availability after June update? I have not this option unfortunately... For me it's important functionality update.
