need solution for restarts phone in stock roms (tw roms) - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my phone restarts after showing (samsung galaxy s5) in stock roms or tw roms but boots with asop based roms
and when i want to take efs backup it restarts
my phone is galaxy s5

Had a similar issue with my s5 about a month ago. No ROM would boot for me. The solution for me was to flash stock firmware via odin and then reroot and apply custom recovery after that. Its a pain to do it all but it worked. Might be worth a shot

[q] urgent!! Sg s4 how to install cwm on i337ucuamf3

Hello XDA, I've been looking for 1 week on how to install a custom rom on my rooted galaxy s4 on mf3 at&t but first i need to install cwm so can any of you all direct me to a video or give me steps on how to install cwm for i can install custom roms? thanks.
If you have been looking for a week, than you should already know that you cannot flash a custom recovery on mf3. It will brick your device.
Currently not possible at the moment

Btw it does not brick your device. It just puts it in a loop which is easily fixed by holding power button and volume down and instead of pressing up press reboot. Wala no longer bricked
That may work. There have been cases of hard bricks. Please be 100% sure of your information before posting.

Hard Brick
I tried to install CWM and the method mentioned did not fix it. Best Buy couldn't fix it either but they sent me to Samsung repair center and they flashed with Odin so mine is back to stock MF3 now.

[i9505] No sound

Hey guys, ever since I've installed Android 4.3, stock and custom, I'm not getting any sound.
Not through my earphones or through my speaker.
I've re flashed this phone like six times in two days because it wouldn't boot at all after first flashing 4.3.
Any help is much appreciated.

The only way to fix this as far as I know is to flash the complete official firmware package via Odin. Then you can proceed to install a custom 4.3 ROM but you may have issues if you use a pre-KNOX firmware.

That's what I did. I flashed stock 4.2.2 and then installed CarHDROM 7.1

You may need to flash stock 4.3 full firmware (sadly you will get the KNOX bootloader) to resolve this.

Yep. This exactly what happened to me. Lost sound and wifi. Had to flash latest leaked version 4.3 Via odin, then root it via odin, install titanium backup , delete all that knox ****, install custom recovery, then you can really start playing with your phone.. eg.. custom roms, kernels etc.. hope this helps
Similar Problem!
Hi, I'm having similar problems I have no sound at all coming from the device, I've read most threads that say no sound on the heading for I9505 and for many people flashing I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_I9505XXUDMH8_HOME.tar resolved the problem but not in my case.
Last night I tried flashing I9505XXUEMI8_I9505OXAEMI8_I9505XXUEMI8 and after I changed the kernel I got some sound when turning the volume up and down but the phone was running very slow.
Today I tried flashing Omega rom v15 flashing the right modem for the new bootloader before flashing the zip and no sound, I tried changing the kernel, still nothing.
So now I'm in build number XXUEMJ9 and baseband MJ5.
I've also tried flashing stock with a pit file but didn't make a difference!
Thanks!
I've fixed the problem by flashing 4.2.2 stock and have been using it since.
Just rooted my phone. All other ROMs just don't work

I believe flashing to stock rom slot is currently disabled in SS.

Why would it be "disabled"? I've been flashing custom Roms to my stock slot on my N3 AND S5 without any issues... even as recent as about 45 mins ago.
To the OP... A lot of people make a nandroid backup of their system and store it on their external SD card and PC and then flash whatever ROM they want in the stock slot. I prefer it that way so that I always have a correct reading on my storage space. Sure, every now and then I flash something that isn't for me or is very buggy but I just re-flash my backup and I'm good to go. Besides, having the ability to flash the stock firmware via Odin makes it a lot less scary as you can always go back to stock firmware if all else fails.

[Q] Omega ROM 7.0 New Bootloader issue

Hi im wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I just flashed Omega rom 7.0 with no problems but then i flashed the new bootloader using Odin and it was successful too but for some reason when i check the bootloader version its still the old one.
I figured it out. Make sure to power down completely first and then boot into download mode and then flash thru Odin that way.

What is all about that new bootlader? Do I need to flash it? What has changed?
Thank you!
If you want to use the stock kernels you have to flash the new bootloader. Things like screen casting to a smart TV can only be done with stock kernels.

TWRP Nandroid Restore problem

Hi all,
I have a KLTE Galaxy S5 G900i.
I successfully upgraded it to MM, rooted and installed TWRP 3.0.2.2 test2.
Prior to doing this, I made a nandroid backup of the previous Lollipop OS using TWRP 3.0.0.0.
I need to restore this backup temporarily, but when I do, it bootloops.
Do I need to Odin Flash TWRP 3.0.0.0 before restoring the nandroid backup? Do I need to wipe/format any partitions?
Thanks,
Donald.
Any custom roms are still using lollipop bootloader. You can Odin back in the meantime

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure what you mean??
Odin back??
Cyanogenmod are still using lollipop file systems and marshmallows are completely new. There a few carriers are still on the rollout once that's done cyanogen will merge the latest bootloader to their roms. To answer your question you need a stock 5.1.1 from sammobile and flash through Odin and root.
