I am using Project Lucky V1.1 on GT-I9300I, I flash kernels that are made for ROMS based on Motion Roms and i Get a bootloop. So which are kernels that work with it. The Stock kernel in the ROM is [email protected]
Edit - I found out it works. No need for an answer.

I've been searching the forums to see if there is a custom kernel that you can flash over the stock rom. My friend did this to his motorola droid so that he could overclock the processor, so I assume someone has developed a similar kernel for the hero. Is this possible/does this kernel exist? I am aware that there are custom roms that allow for overlocking, but all I really want is a custom kernel.
Pick any kernel you want as far as I understand it. Of course, make a Nandroid first, then flash the new kernel. If you have any major problems with it, you can just restore the Nandroid, which will return you back to the stock kernel. I am about to embark on this same journey myself tonight. I'm going to use this one here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705074 . Good luck to you in your endeavors.
I see on this site about flashing new roms, the 3.1 android and others and the Kernel.
Is their 2 different rom chips one for the kernel and one for the OS..?
When I flash a custom rom does that change the Kernel or do they have to be flashed seperate.
Is there certain custom roms that have both..?
When getting a custom rom do I need to get a new Kernel..
Do the custom roms have both, Little fuzzy here..?
Thanks for the info.

Kernel and Rom are 2 separate flash...
most custom rom dev already takes care of the kernel for you with their custom roms ( kernel built in ... 1 flash takes care of both )...
but if you're interested in flashing a custom kernel... just make sure about its compatibility with various roms.
read thoroughly in custom rom & kernel's threads 1st post... they usually let you know what's the requirements are...etc
Thanks so much, that clears my mind and makes things much easier.
Hi guys
i've been googling and searching through xda for based-on-stock 4.2.2 and 4.3 kernels for the past couple of days, but the links are all down.. i don't want KK or LP because i don't like them, plus text reflow doesn't work in those anymore.. would someone please help in providing a link to stable JB kernels.. such as Adam kernel for example...
thank you
What version of Android is currently on the device?
I'm running omega v14.1 which is based on Android 4.2.2
but I also downloaded omega v17 which is based on 4.3
so having kernels for both would be nice
Ok, so you never upgraded the stock ROM from the originals? If the links are down you're going to have to hunt, as I know you don't want to download a stock ROM just to get the kernel.
Thing is.. I want to stay on jelly bean. I don't want the stock kernel. I wants a tweaked kernel based on the stock kernel with all the extra governors and features.. like Adam kernel by wanam. But the problem is these are a bit old and all the links are dead. Even wanam's site is down (no idea why).
So I really would appreciate it if someone who still has copies of these would share them here
thanks again
Friends , we all know that Agni kernel is the only give official supports to miui based rom on redmi note 3 . But there are lot of very good kernels for our kenzo but all the kernel developers support stock android os . I have little bit of issue will agni kernel .so I have been searching xda for a long time about other kernel that can be useful for miui 9 ported rom .
The main problem is all ported rom come with Agni or Unicorn blood kernel . But we can't flash a custom kernel over other custom kernel. so we need stock boot.img to flash first and then we can flash any custom kernel based on android 7.0 .
Today I found a ported rom comes with Radon kernel. so I extracted the boot.img and tried to flash on EPIC, MiuiPRO, Xiomi.eu roms & MIUI.AM by turkdevs, all are working like a charm. Then I tried to flash shadow kernel over it , booting successful but blank screen.
I reflashed Radon Boot.img, get every thing ok . Then I flashed franco kernel and it also working fine .
my point is you can try this and test a good kernel for you now. look at the attachment bellow for radon.img file
you can try it on epic, miuipro based or turkdev ported roms.
FLAST RADON.IMG >THEN CAN TRY ANY CUSTOM KERNEL (obviously based on android 7.x only)
I think this post will help you .
I will not responsible for any thing wrong to you device

Thanks for sharing :good:
I tried this, to see if pokemon go works well with Agni and MIUI.AM (it comes with unicorblood), but it works bad like I reported in Agni Thread.
NOthing changed.
Hey guys, hope you all are fine. I have recently rooted my f800l korean with dirty santa method. Now i want to try some custom rom on this, but no rom is booting up, even super rom is officialy listed on their website for f800 but does't boots up. alwasy stucks on lg logo. Some body tell me which step am i missing?
Sorry for my bad english.
as far as i know, theres no officially custom rom that espexially made fot F800L. but dont worry, you can flash 'SOME' VS955 rom in F800L
heres the lost that alreasybtesred by mw, and yes its working
1. VS955 extreme syndicate v1 <-- stock nougat based, no signal, wifi working
2. VS955 Lineage 15 <-- recomended by me, AOSP based
3. VS955 Weta rom <-- stock nougat based
and dont forget to flash custom kernel after flashing custom rom.
im using F800K M2000 (latest version)
AOSP based ROM works out of the box, stock-based doesn't because they're all using different device's stock ROM as a base. Stock-based custom ROM on this device for the most part is just stock + debloated + misc. mods and snakeoil. You can get most of them working by (re)flashing modem after you flashed the ROM, but ultimately its still the same thing. Its better just to root the latest Nougat/Oreo stock ROM for the device, install mk2000 kernel, then debloat it yourself. The korean text in dialer, as well as Korean ROM quirks (always roaming, missing menu options) can be dealt with using a build.prop edit.

Way to disparage the work done by the few devs left here who provide their time and effort for free.

There's a big difference between actual development (kernel work, device tree for AOSP porting) and chucking whatever popular snakeoil is out there and repackaging it. There's a reason why Original Android Development got split into a separate category back in the days, so repacks 2468295 can be kept in its own containment forum. XDA hasn't changed much since the Blue Angel/Himalaya days in that regard.

i agree with you. lets take an example lesson in my experience while im using lineage, yes the rom is much lighter and faster than stock, but the camera result is not as good as when im using stock rom. the result from camera is very crappy (compared with while im using stock rom). so once again, im very agree the best rom for any device is stock rom+ custom kernel of our choice and of course debloat as our choice as well. this is the reason why im choosing extreme syndicate v1 rom because it just lite as AOSP rom because its extremely debloated and my camera working perfectly, the the DAC work as well.
does lineage-15.1-20181214-X86CPU-vs995.zip work on F800L Bro ......im using lineage-14.1-20180214-UNOFFICIAL-vs995.zip now on F800L
Anybody try to install LOS 17.1 and have the camera works? The camera work fine when 15.1 LOS installed. But soon after I dirty install the 17.1 its stopped working.
I'm haven't install any gapps or any custom kernel. Or should I?
