[Q] what if Odin hangs or I use a wrong file while Rooting?

Hey guys,kindly help me out.
I am considering Rooting my S4 today so while rooting if the odin hangs or I use the wrong files to I can simply unbrick the device by installing the stock Rom via Odin, right? And this is how you do it to every other device, right?
When do you use a Pit file?
Don't use the wrong file, you could brick your device. And I wouldn't use a pit file, they are very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing
Read, then read some more on how to root your phone before you try.

I would try flashing the stock rom, not a pit file. Odin will take 10 to 20 minutes so be patient. Don't unplug it. That can brick it.

The method never worked for me, I found out if your computer does not recognize your phone via USB before you attempt this method it will never work, my phone would not come up at all when connected to my USB port. I ended up contacting Verizon and sent my phone back, told them it died on new update, it's been 2 weeks haven't heard from them.

How did you brick your phone? I know it sounds weird but I'm looking to really mess up the bootloader on mine without simply triggering kies and having it lock up my phone. I figure if I can brick the phone then use an insecure debrick image I may be able to flash an unlocked bootloader to it without having to use JTAG and everything.

Same as the galaxy s3 LTE variants, and so long as this works then there is hope to unlock the bootloader. I'm so excited this works here! :fingers-crossed::good:

Desperately need pit file for N910

I'm desperate to get my note back up and running.

What this charming person means to say is that you shouldn't post questions in development forums, as its against XDA rules.
Questions like this belong in the Q&A section of the Note 4 forum.

I'm a fan of your work, I hope you could help. are you familiar with SD card boot recovery? i seemed to have hardbricked my N910G (Dead boot) and so far the fix is not available yet on this forum: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f20...-n9108v-sm-n9100-sm-g901f-1876234/index3.html
i do have a nandroid backup but since my phone won't even boot to download mode(not even switch on) and i don't have a JTAG box to revive it, the next solution is to boot via SD card recovery but i need to do the procedure from the attached pdf file using a working N910G which i don't have, anyone here have a SDcard for boot recovery for N910G it would be much appreciated.

base from the other forum some successfully revive it using N910F but since the pit file they have doesn't include N910G, i was wondering if your PIT file and Battlehero's BL (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=41389) would work if created via odin using the T-Flash feature. with that it would be possible to do Download mode from the SD card.

How does the actual "debricking" process work? Is it a case where you are fooling the phone into believing that it is updating to a newer bootloader or modem?

Yes your device is bricked.
Follow instructions carefully and be patient.
Download qualcomm usb drivers
Download debrick.image
Download win32 disk imager software
And write debrick image to fully formated microsd card using win32 disk imager
Put micro sd card in phone and try boot normally
If doesn't boot try hold power button for few seconds
If doesn't work try whole procedure again.
Once came back to life flash stock firmware in odin VERY IMPORTANT
You messed up device so be patient to bring back to life
Hi, upload the link again, you can

Phone bricked and Odin always gets stuck at system.img

I tried installing UK firmware on my Galaxy S8+ using Odin, but it got stuck at system.img and now I can only boot the phone into download mode.
I've tried installing the original firmware as well but it also gets stuck at system.img.
Has this happened to anyone else? And is there anything I can do to fix this or am I ****ed?
Thank you very much in advance for any help

If your Odin and files are right it might be the cable, if you're not using the original cable it causes that it happend to me many times. Hope this helps you

Well that is a very dangerous process and should not be done if u dont have any major issue but since u have pretty much death phone as u say it cant hurt to try as a last option.
Google what nand erase is in odin option,it will explain much better then me [emoji14]

Edit : try and see if u can find any emergency firmware aka repair firmware for you s8 if it exists and flash with that

Have you fixed it already? If not try flashing everything with odin and also in 'Pit' tab put dreamlte .pit file from inside CSC .md5 file(open with rar)
Double check your files make sure you're not flashing an old fw and your Odin
After that, you probably try to flash using a non original data cable, its not a must but some cables can cause that

I've triple-checked everything. Both Odin and the files are all up to date, and the files are from the same firmware I had on the phone before it got bricked.
I'm going to try using firmware from SamMobile instead of SamDB.org, and will post back with results.
UPDATE:
Flashed firmware from SamMobile, it went through and my phone works again. Can't believe I spent $7 on SamDB for faster download speed and all I got was some files that don't even work properly. Next time I'll be more patient I guess
