i noticed after a while my always on display turns off. is it supposed to do that even with good battery.
I also noticed that, but i had it in my pocket and after taking it out the always-on screen went on again, if i did not press the button while taking it out. But as i actually have the phone in a clear view cover, and there the always-on screen is deavtivated completely, i cannot say for sure.

You sure it wasn't just very dim? I noticed mine was very dim early when the room went darker

My phone did the same thing the other day. Once I picked it up the display came back on.
I figured the phone was sad because I wasn't using it. LOL.
So after the night the display was still on. So just laying on the table did not turn it off. But i got a dead pixel over night. Well not really as the red pixel is only shown on the always-on display. As soon as i turn the phone on, the red pixel is gone.
there is a option in the settings that puts the screen completly off when it`s in a pocket or in the complete darkness since it`s using the light sensor on the phone.
I found in mind the feature fit toggled of somehow and I had to turn it back on. Not sure why.

Where do you find this setting?
Settings->Display--> keep screen closed(or something like that)
In my case, the actual setting for always on display keeps toggling OFF. Same for Edge Screen (Edge Panels). This has happened about five times since I bought the phone last week. I can't correlate it to anything like low battery or permissions. I guess a conflicting setting or app could be the culprit though. This has happened a few times even when I'm not using the phone for a short time. Any thoughts?
My S7 edge is doing the same thing also. In my case the Always On toggle is still set to on. I have no idea why the screen is just `turning off`.
It's a shame; I really got used to the always on.
Just a follow up; I determined why AOD kept turning itself off. Apparently dust or grime got between my tempered glass screen protector and the screen. Once I removed the tempered glass protector, the AOD began functioning again.
The same!

Don't know why, but the same happens to me, just randomly??
Mine S7, now with Oreo, also turns Always-on off it self. Maybe in connection with App updating or?. It has done that several times now.
Don't mix this problem up with Always-on turns off for power saving when screen is covered - in a pocket or face-down..
So my wifi is working fine when I'm using the phone. But everytime I turn my screen off my wifi disconnects itself. I don't have any settings changed for that to happen. I actually have my wifi to always stay on during sleep.
I have attached some pictures. When the screen turns off the WiFi turns off after a few minutes. It shows my wifi and underneath it, it shows "internet not available". I then have to manually hit connect and my wifi reestablishs the connection. It's really tedious and I don't know what to do. Don't have this problem on my s6 edge or any other device. I've read it may be an issue with android 6.0.1 as many people with nexus 5x's and 6p's have the same issue. I've tried many things but nothing seems to work.
Do you have any apps that could be doing this (such as power saving apps)?

Nope. I've got around 15apps that I transferred over from my s6 edge and they're just your usual Facebook, Twitter etc. I have no idea why it's happening
Just to double check; when in the wifi settings, press more, then select "Keep wifi on during sleep" and check which option is selected...

Yh I have it set to always
Try changing it to never and let the screen go off. Then restart. Change it back to Always and see if that fixes it.

I had a lot of problem with my S7 Edge and the only way I found to fix it was to remove the Mac Adress filtering on my router. Without it I have no problem, but with that security feature activated, the S7 was permanently losing the network and/or being terribly slow from timme to time when browsing.
Hope this helps

I believe that you mean you did not have to manually set your S7 Mac Address on your router? In that case, that feature is not activated otherwize you will not be able to connect at all... :fingers-crossed:
Same wifi issue here. I cannot download apps through Google play nor does Google photos backup.
If I select "Never" in "Keep my wifi on during sleep", wifi never disconnects when the screen turns off. Does it mean my S7 Edge never goes to sleep?
EDIT: Did a data factory reset and still the same behaviour.
From the box, the always on display (AOD) shifted around every minute or so to prevent burn in.
Two days ago I installed the T-Mobile update for my s7 edge. Last night, I was trying out my new wireless charger when I noticed the AOD no longer moves around. I tried charging directly, rebooting, powering off, changing themes/styles to see if it would start shifting around.
Did the update cause this change? Is anybody experiencing the same thing? Is this a bug or intentional (didn't see anything in patch notes). Thank for any input.
I love the AOD but now super paranoid about burn in.
Have you tried turning AOD off, waiting a bit, and turning it back on? Maybe reboot while it's off, then turn it back on.
Yeah, reports circulating that the T-Mobile update is causing the AOD to remain stationary. If you're on T-Mobile, definitely turn off AOD until they release a fix.
Yea I've tried disabling AOD and rebooting but it's still stationary. I went ahead and disabled it entirely and hoping a fix will be released soon. Thanks all.
Damn, disabled mine until it's fixed. Didn't even notice, thanks.

Is it dimmed more like the night clock mode? I was thinking maybe they did that and figured it's not a problem any more, but just guessing. I have Verizon version and I jist use the night clock mode all time as the regular clock seems too bright.

The brightness of the AOD is still determined by ambient lighting. The only time the AOD moves to a different position now is when I power up the screen then lock it. If I don't power up the screen, it will stay in that same position with auto brightness in effect.

Yeah, definitely must be a bug then.
I'm annoyed of the Night Clock where it shows the time of an alarm that's set out few days out. I now disabled all alarms so I don't see that. lol.
Also, the stupid + sign on the icon groups in TouchWiz is really awkward and wastes so much space. They didn't have this in Galaxy S6.
Had this issue on a Fresh install (Not present on the Same Version previously (I rolled back after a upgrade)
My default was stuck in the middle and did not move, I went in and change the clock style to the round clock and hands, and mine is moving around the screen as normal
So I have a strange problem. I used Samsung's own migration tool to migrate the data from my T-Mobile S7 Edge to my Sprint S7 (non-edge) phone. The T-Mobile S7 Edge had the Edge Application 'Night Clock' enabled to activate at 11pm and turn off at 6am. My Sprint non-edge S7 now has the 'Night Clock' displayed between these times. Because it's on a non-edge display, it isn't visable at the same angles and I want to turn it off. Problem is, that the non-Edge S7 does not have the Edge Apps menu available in Settings, so I cannot find where I can access this setting to turn it off.
Any suggestions? I thought I would ask before I do a full reset of the phone.
Hello
The wifi goes off after 4 to 5 minutes when the screen goes into standby.
Spotify, sidesync, ... cuts
Even the ping no longer responds
If the screen remains on permanently or the phone is charging, no problem.
In the settings, the wifi is always activated
No battery power
Testing on several Internet networks
Has anyone ever had a problem?
thank you

Same issue here. Noticed it happening some time in November.
SM-G935F, stock, on DTM firmware. I can say that the issue started after receiving DTM OTA for G935FXXU1BPJK in Novemeber, and has continued after receiving DTM OTA for G935FXXU1BPLL a few weeks ago.

Been there, Done that, Doesn't matter... I've gone in and reset that setting at least a couple dozen times, to no effect. I've also tried rebooting into recovery and clearing cache before and/or after resetting WiFi Sleep. Nothing has fixed it. Only thing I can think of doing next is a restore/wipe via Odin.

If it occurred after an update, and cache cleaning did not help, the next step is a factory reset or Odin flash due to bad installation.
