Bootloop into Twrp - LG V20 Questions & Answers

After installing Lineage for att (h910) and flashing gapps, which didnt work, I'm stuck and getting a bootloop into twrp. So, twrp is easily accessible. The actual operating system is failing to load.
Considering going tinto the bootloader and running step3 fastboot flash boot boot2.img from the dirtysanta root files.
My thinking is this might give me another shot at a boot image that works.
Any ideas to help? I have a Skype interview tomorrow afternoon and I need this fixed asap.

If is TWRP loop then .... there are countless threads here with the same question and an answer for it. First, flash a rom (any rom compatible with your variant) then completely power off the device. Then go into recovery mode by doing the appropiated gesture (which means leave pressed volume down an power button until the lg logo shows, right whent he lg logo shows , quickly remove your finger from the power button and press and hold it once again (do not remove your finger from the volume down at any moment) Then you will see the white screen where you have to press yes in both. and then you will be out of the loop. ) If you didnt understand my guide, follow this: http://www.recovery-mode.com/android/lg-v20.html . :good: This should take you out of the TWRP loop.

Thanks for the reply, but heres the thing: the LG logo doesnt show. It goes right into the izarre red triangles thing. Then goes to the white factory reset choices. I tap yes twice and the it gives me the LG logo. Several times I've held the button combo down after the logo appears but it ignores it and goes right to twrp.

But wait.... are you explicitly turning off the device? Like off off? (remove the battery if you must). ? if not then you will be booted into twrp. Now, if that doesnt work... hmm kdz would be the ideal , if and only if you had a kdz file. Now, i see that there is a kdz file but it is for the h910pr and not h910. ... Sorry. Hope someone else can help :good:

h910pr kdz
I flashed the h910pr kdz to recover from a severe brick. worked a charm. it has a claro boot logo and i occasionally receive a notification in Spanish but it saved my butt. i have seen a report of someone doing it and their cellular service not working, but i did not have this issue. if the h910pr rom could be rooted id say its a safe kdz to fix bricked phones with. once its on the h910 it could be rooted and used to reinstall twrp and then reinstall the proper firmware.

[Q] Did I permanently brick my VZW LG G2?

Guys, I was an idiot about this, but I am at the end of my rope and could really use some help to try to fix things.
Here is what I did incorrectly:
Used TWRP to flash the wrong ROM
Created a backup in CWM format, not TWRP, so I can't restore it.
I have tried the three major methods on these forums multiple times to try to unbrick, with the following results:
Flashing official factory firmware with LG Launcher got hung up at the 12 s mark (when it transitioned to the "downloading software" step) for upwards of 15 min before I exited
Using the KDZ method seemed to work and actually got me really excited! But the "firmware update" progress bar on the download mode screen didn't move and a reset only ended up back at TWRP
Using the TOT method also appeared to start to work, but it failed because the build/dll didn't match. I have the VS98011A_01 version and used the TOT that I found in the thread.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Do you have the LG bootlogo coming up, if so try this:
(Something similar happened to mine, and I hope this will help.)\
Turn off phone, then when off, hold down power and volume down button until it reaches the LG logo and then release and hold it down again, if that doesn't work, when just hold it down until you see a screen that says something like: Hard reset/ factory reset. For me it took me to my recovery screen, where I just flashed a older ROM onto it, and you should be fine. I then later flashed a recovery file. I hope this helps, and if you need it any clearer, just reply :good:
Also from reading this, try flashing another ROM, if you have one present on the device, which will then allow you to boot-up then restore.

[Q] [Q} Is my D802 Bricked?

Hi all
my D802 can't reboot with following method, could you please help me investigate how to fix it?
1. Can't enter download mode: I power it off, then hold volume up and plug in USB, but only the first screen shows up, can't enter the second one:
http://i.imgur.com/Kc4egAZ.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/jdCWBEW.jpg
So I can't flash kdz image.
2.I am able to access TWRP with official factory default( power+volume down to power on, when LG logo shows up, release power and volume down, then hold power.). But no matter I flash CloudyFlex which in my sdcard, or sideload flash others ROM, the cell phone will no boot up, always stuck at LG logo.
Any possible way to fix? Thank you very much.

not sure, I did few stupid things before.
1. I flashed LG G Pro 2 ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2673143 but it not good for me, so i went to recovery. but this rom replaced my recovery to a unknow one, not TWRP. when I was in this unknow recovery, my phone linked with PC via USB. PC found a lot of unformatted drivers, I did the most stupid thing: formatted one of them.
2. G Pro2 rom still can boot up, I flashed stock kdz, and rooted it with ioroot10, then flashed TWRP 2.6.3.3.
3. copy CloudyFlex_1.4.zip into sdcard through MTP mode of stock rom. reboot into recovery TWRP, flash cloudyflex, phone never boot up again.
4. No matter what rom i flash, always stuck at LG logo and the phone become hot.
sorry for my pool English.

Sorry man, I have no idea what you may have formatted then.. :/
I can't think of anything right now.. If you can't get to download mode and flash stock kdz again.. Then I don't know. I hope some one comes along that knows something. Sounds serious. I'll keep on thinking about things. But I have to leave the house now so..
Sorry.

I was in a similar position to where it would just always boot into recovery forever. I tried doing several restores from stock and other backups. Different ROMs and even went through dirtysanta again. Nothing worked.
What wound up working was me getting into the device's factory restore screen (not TWRP's). I believe you get there by turning on the device while holding the Vol down + power button, when the LG screen comes up - let go of the power button for like 1-2 seconds and then press/hold it again. It should be a white screen that's asking if you want to do the factory screen or not. Just do that. It did its thing - then went to the LG screen again. I was a bit impatient and only waited like 2 mins. It didn't go anywhere (you could probably wait longer or so) but I just simply took out the battery and then put it back in.
It did wind up booting to the system again after awhile.
Just letting you know what I did after I messed up with a certain thing in a hidden menu.
Twisted
Not solved.

Yellow Screen of Death? Rpm Crash at boot

VS995 Unlocked with dirty santa, Konverged kernel, stock rom
The other day phone just randomly shut off without warning, battery was low (5%) so I figured battery just died. Went to plug phone in, got to the "device cannot be trusted" screen and to the LG screen, screen goes black, and gives me this yellow "RPM Crash" screen (see below). I can boot into fastboot just fine, and up until just a few minutes ago I was able to boot into twrp by flashing my twrp image as boot and rebooting the phone (if I use the button method it gives me the factory reset screens, goes to the lg screen, and goes back to the crash screen). I can reboot to recovery from twrp and it works just fine. Booting into download mode shows the download mode icon for a few seconds and then it goes black and to the crash screen.
Issues found/fixed so far
I saw in another thread someone had a boot.img issue so I messed with the boot1 and boot2 imgs from the dirty santa process and managed to get to a looping verizon screen with boot1 and the encryption unsuccessful screen with the boot2.img
In twrp my data and dalvik partitions were corrupted but I was able to reformat and repair them. (I found out when trying to wipe them in fastboot)
In fastboot, after working in twrp I was able to wipe and reflash all partitions except system I extracted from a kdz with no luck as far as getting past the error.
My system partition is currently wiped and I have not flashed a new system.img as fastboot won't let me flash it and I cannot get back into twrp to flash it.
I'm curious if this is more of a hardware fault than it is a software fault as download mode was also affected
Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have a H910 that just received a screen replacement and I am also getting the yellow error screen. I am still able to get into Twrp though. However no matter how many times I flash a Rom, it keeps getting stuck at the yellow screen.

Can you take a picture of of the screen, or is it identical to the one that has been posted? My guess is that you put the wrong screen on.

Here is the photo, sorry it's not the best quality since it's taken with a OnePlus One.
I had gotten the screen replaced by a cell phone repair shop. Luckily they still gave me the original screen. If it's a bad screen I will just get them to switch it out again...
You will have to upload a better quality picture for me to be sure, but I can tell you that you are getting an selinux failure for some reason when it is trying to load some driver. Again, I need a better picture.

Sorry for the delay, I had the repair shop reinstall the original screen I was using. I am still getting an error screen, but I have my actual camera with me so here you go. I have tried installing a new ROM, I've tried doing "STEP3.BAT": https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/root-h910-v10m-t3664500 Because thought it needed a new boot.img
Still having errors. Any advice would be great. I haven't reverted back to stock because not sure how, and worried I'll lose twrp and would prevent me from actually doing anything.
I have a LG g4 that got the blue screen of death and it won't respond to anything I've tried so I'd say this is the same...........
my lg v20 started displaying this RPM crash screen two days ago. I am not certain what caused it, but it was immediately after charging it with a power bank. To boot mine, I have to plug the phone to a wall charger, once it shows charging, I press the power button and it will boot flawlessly, after that I am free to unplug it. I cant say if it wouldnt degenerate and I havent tried flashing the phone afresh. For now, I would back up my data to avoid surprises.

How do you boot into twrp? I am unable to. Are you currently able to copy your files from your internal memory to sd via twrp?

Black screen, bricked, boot looped..

As the title says. My k20 is boot looping with a black screen. The LG logo no longer shows.
I had Lineage 15.1 loaded, and thought I wound make a twrp backup using Travis' Red Wolf 64bit recovery. (Greetings, fellow Hoosier)
But, that wasn't enough for me. After the backup, I wanted to try the Nethunter Kernel. I was softbricked, so I recovered the boot partition and all was fine. But, silly me figured if nethunter didnt work for me then to try out FuseBox. After flashing that, the phone rebooted into a black screen, no logo. So, now way of knowing what stage of first boot it is in.
After some fiddling, I can get it into download mode, still black screen, I only know it's in download mode because LG Up(With Uppercut) suddenly detects it. At first, it only stayed in DL mode for for a few seconds then rebooted. Durng one of those "few seconds" boots, I manage to quickly start the LG Up Upgrade process, halting the reboot. I tried flashing MP26010j and 26010k. The flashes complete successfully then reboot, but.... still a black screen and continually reboots after about 15-30 seconds..
Tips, suggestions, ritual sacrifices?
If not for the boot looping I would think that a video driver isn't loading.
alternatively, anyone know of a comparable or close enough phone under $80 usd?
Had the same problem with bricked black screen.
i fixed mine by flashing a kdz with lgup tool
Connect it to windows make sure it doesnt keep disconnecting hold vol and power buttons different ways till is stable
flashed it like 4 times till the lg logo poped up and booted up factory mode now im back to lineage/wolf revovery. Dont give up yet
I do appreciate the motivation. I just went through the process another 10 times with the 26010j kdz, and 10 with the 26011k kdz. No luck.
