[Q] Disable palm rejection when using stylus ? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I'm on lineage, and when I use the stylus, my Note needs one or two seconds before registering touch input again. I assume that it is some kind of palm rejection or sthg like that ; but is it possible to disable it ?

keyboard slide unlocks device

Hey there!
I ve got a weird problem since I got CM7 on my milestone. Whenever I slide out my keyboard a bit mobile is unlocking itself, same thing happens with MIUI. It's troublesome because I send a lot of unwanted texts and emails to random contacts and numbers, making pocket calls as well :/ Did anyone encountered this problem and is there any solution?
Thanks!

I think the only solution is to set security code or sequence lock (standard android security settings)

nope, changed lockscreen for security lock and gestures and still when I slide the keyboard milestone unlocks itself :| any ideas?
You have to use standard android security (under settings --> position and security), sequence or pin code, it works for me

Turn the battery side of the phone to your leg, so the touchscreen won't have anything to touch. =)

Hover feature

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew why the feature where you can hover your finger over the screen doesn't work on my GS4. On the lock screen you can see the little dot when you hover over but it doesn't work on camera, texts, gallery, etc.
THANKS EVERYONE!

Air view only works on selected apps, basically the Samsung apps (Samsung email, gallery, browser, messaging), it doesn't work with all apps (which kinda sucks)

Enable information preview, and also don't forget it will hover the content only when the data displayed doesn't fits the screen fully.

Also..
I had it turned on, but it wasn't working.
Turns out the sensor gets dirty, or dusty or whatever.. just clean it up with your finger or paper towel.. , and it should work again.

Try testing it with the Try command on each function.
If it works you have nothing to worry about.
You can also test it with *#0*# > TSP Hovering..

Action memo question

Is there a way to activate the air command without using the s pen? I want to use my finger to create the circles and boxes for the different memos without having to always use the s pen

Check it this app. It's an air command shortcut.

There is no more Multiwindow bar on Galaxy Note 4 like in other phones. Now to use multi-windows, just use the Recent App list and click the multi-window icon.
Shown here in Samsung Original advert.
I know this.

Try gmd s-pen control https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.spencontrol or gmd control https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol
If can use another button and got xposed installed you can get the app "Xposed additions" which let you reconfigure all your buttons to just any action you want

Fingerprint scanner emulate home button?

Is there any way to make my fingerprint scanner into a capacitive button when the phone is already unlocked? Google turned up some options that say there are apps for Samsung devices, but anything for the axon?
Yes you can. There is an app here on xda apps called Fingerprint quick action. I already have it installed and default action is to toggle notification bar. Home is also an option.

What's your hit to battery life?
None, I still get more than 6hrs of screen time (2 days of use).

That app works beautifully, thank you!
Just to throw my own thread off topic, is anyone else surprised that we're creaming the pixel for onscreen time?

Amazing app. I hope in the future it can be set to Back button functionality so it'd be easier to use the Axon at night. I'm still having a hard time pressing Back or Recent capacitive buttons in the dark.

I'm using the Pie Control app for that - so I don't even have to stretch my thumb down to the bottom of the screen, just swipe in from either bezel. I'm gonna try the Fingerprint Quick Action app - but what happens when you accidentally brush the sensor as your fingers are fumbling around the back of the phone like my fingers often do?

This doesn't require root privileges and teaches dexterous disciprine.

The Pie Control app from the Play store only needs root if you're using some of the special functions (menu) - it works just fine without root.
Also I set this app to turn off with the scanner and don't have problems until I play games and have to move my hands around the back of the phone a bunch. Was frustrating to keep having my screen turn off in the middle of Asphalt 8. Maybe there's a way to make a quick toggle widget for gaming mode?
