Little question about unlocking boatloader?? - Asus ZenFone 3 Questions & Answers

Ok so I bought the Zenfone 3 ze520kl about 5 days ago and a I have a little question.
One thing that I enjoy in my devices is to root them , but this is my first device that has a locked boatloader. So I am aware that if I unlock the boatloader I will lose warranty , is there any step in order to lock it back so it can get accepted by warranty ???
Thanks in advance.

actually you can't re-lock bootloader with official guide

Strange thing with unlocking bootloader

Hi all,
I have unlocked my bootloader with the steps from laser nice job ... then i installed the new doom kernel and everything was fine.... The only thing that was wrong was that i didnt could sent any sms. So i flashed the right baseband and the sms was fine but know i`ve got the se letters back....
So is my bootloader unlocked our what did i do wrong
i'm new, but..
ok i did not unlock my BL, but..
i think that unlocking the BL is permenant (u cannot relock/undo the unlock)
so, the 'Sony Ericsson' that you see now does not mean that you lost your bootloader. (i know that if u unlock BL, u gett a new boot screen, but maybe the bootscreen might have just accedentally rolled back to the original). i dont think bootloader can ever be deleted once unlocked. SO MATE, congrads, u still have the BOOTLOADER!

[Q] Possible to install stock Android and not lose unlocked and rooted condition?

Hi there,
I am a noob who has been following the threads in this forum and I managed to unlock the bootloader and root my Nexus 4.
Now I apologise if the following question has been asked before, but I did not find an answer that I understood.
Let's assume that in a few weeks/months a new version of Android is released. Can I install it without losing the unlocked and rooted condition of my device?
If yes, any easy (for a noob) to follow tutorial?
Thanks very much.

Next version is probably out later this year, October-November. If you apply the OTA, your bootloader will remain unlocked, but you lose root. You will only be able to root it again, if devs find a way. They usually do, just not necessarily instantly.

Can I root then unroot the OPT without voiding warranty?

As above, could I unroot or re-lock the device if I encounter any hardware issues for warranty purposes?
Done a quick search but couldn't find any info re warranty just that an unroot is possible
Thanks in advance
same question here. In Oneplus one, if you falshed a factory firmware you lost root. In fact people (calkulin used to release firmwares with root). I wonder if that is the case here as well. Also I am not sure you lose warranty for oneplus if you root,
No you don't void your warranty if you root the phone.
Could you provide an official source confirming that?
https://oneplus.net/support/answer/will-rooting-or-unlocking-the-bootloader-void-my-warranty
Since Oneplus One, Oneplus has supported devices that were rooted and unlocked. They, in fact, would tell you how to unlock it if you asked. If they changed. That policy, there'd be a much bigger commotion than the one over it not having NFC.
That's great thanks for the replies
Is there currently a way to unroot/relock the device?

Just flash with stock rom,
OnePlus allows you to unlock bootloader and root your phone without voiding your warrenty. That's one main reason why I love OnePlus over many other companies.

Does Mokee rom relock the bootloader?

I have a Xiaomi Redmi 2 (wt88047) with Mokee's history release on android 6.0.1 (MK60.1-wt88047-170418-HISTORY) installed.
Recovery : twrp 3.2.1-0.
I wanted to try out some other rom on my device but it seems that the bootloader is locked on my device by mokee rom. Ichecked this (bootloader status) by using the command--- fastboot oem device info.
This shows that bootloader of my device is locked . I read that trying to flash on a locked bootloader results in a bootloop which I dont want (obviously).
Hence what should I do to unlock the bootloader (if it is locked) or I can go forward and flash any rom as it is?
I know that redmi 2 ships with an unlocked bootloader but it appears that it is locked now.
Please help.
Thanks in advanced.
I don't have a Mokee ROM,but try to look for an option like on the screenshot.
Have a nice day.
Thanks for responding
I have done this but I don't know the steps to be followed after this . Can you help me with the steps to be followed after allowing oem unlock?
Unlocked
As i know bootloader is already unlocked out of the box...
Wt88047 didnt came with locked bootloader..
Strange it's locked after flashing mokke mm

As far as I know, that's it. Now you can flash other ROMs, check if you've enabled android debugging and you good to go.
