I'm facing a lot of bugs in Nougat especially late touch responses in certain apps. I wish to downgrade back to Marshmallow but is that possible without unlocking the bootloader?

Hey, it should be possible through stock recovery but first try a factory reset and wipe the cache memory also.

Hello, I found no way to downgrade. The firmware available on the asus site does not allow downgrade, at least through stock recovery

Dude, try to flash it with odin and this one-file stock ROM:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712462437
After you flash, you will get boot loop. Then remove the battery for few seconds and put it again and go to stock recovery and do wipe data/factory reset.
If I did it, so you can too.
I want to go back, too. Will this trigger Knox?

Hi guys,i realy love to flash a custom rom in my Zenfone 5.
Yes,I can flash roms or whatever via recovery, the only real problem here is,when i unlocked the bootloader, the camera will not working either on stock rom or custom rom, others are working just fine.
Flashing custom roms sure are fun,but this issue gave me a huge bummer as camera is realy important.:crying:
I used alot of methods to unlock the bootloader, but the problem still remains the same.:silly:
My Zenfone 5 Model is A501CG,here are the specs :-
-2/16gb ROM
-Intel Atom Z2560 1.6ghz
I found out that they are few users that having the same problem as mine.
Don't worry,i can make the camera back to normal, but for that,i'll have to relock the bootloader
I hope the devs will work on this problem.
Thank you and sorry for my bad english
You might have done some thing wrong or used the wrong unlocking tool am using same device with RR and camera works fine. try https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Fin8UxrD6PRU9MM1lQZkV0SG8/view

It's a uncommon issue that I found too.
Unlocking my friend's phone EXACTLY same way I did on mine (40.30 bootloader, 59.A1 ifwi) made his phone camera stop to work.
I don't know what is the issue, but it makes impossible to use the camera on the phone with a unlocked bootloader.

You can try it. There's a small chance of your phone bring different from ours (which causes the camera bug). If you get camera bug just relock bootloader.

There is but it can seriously mess your phone. Apps such as kingroot can root your device without having you to unlock the phone but these apps have a bad reputation. So recommend to root by classical method.

Either way you will lose warranty. Using kingroot etc will void your warranty.
Only software warranty will be void not hardware.

No. You won't be able to update via ota (over the air) nor you will be able to update via Update.APP. However you can flash update.zip via twrp. You can find it on xda. It will erase your data though.

I currently have an unlocked USA Samsung Galaxy s8 on Android Pie (latest patch, bootloader 6) and would like to revert to Android 8.0. I found this guide here on XDA, but I was wondering if there was a way to do this without removing the fingerprint scanner functionality and will I trip Knox? Also, I'd like to install PartCyborg, is that in any way possible, and do I still need bootloader version 1 or 2? Thanks for any and all help.
Did you ever get anywhere with it?

If you are already on bit 6, No you cannot. Anti roll back stops it. As for part cyborg rom if you follow the jrkruse edl method you can have cyborg rom and root on nougat only.

Hi,
I rooted my S10+ using the magisk patch on the firmware. I've read an article on thecustomdroid where it says I can perform an OTA without losing root. Is this correct?
Thanks in advance
Yes it can be. just make sure it's not UI update (just security/fix) update. because if it a new UI update may you not get stable experience with magisk app for incompatible issues
