Android Wear 2 / LG Sport Watch. Screen orientation - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone knows if it is possible to turn off the screen rotation feature in Android Wear 2 or is this a special LG feature?
It's not the "Tilt to wake up" and stuff like that, it's just that it rotates the screen all the time when I move my arm, would love to have it stuck in one orientation.
Edit
I did a factory reset of the watch and Android Wear app on the phone, now the screen rotation stays the same on my arm but rotates correctly in the charging cradle.

Dissasembly, screen rotate broken

I recently replaced the screen in my 6800 - (I'm out of insurance replacements, and I don't like the Touch Pro Verizon offered me very much.)
The dissasembly and re-assembly went swimmingly - except for the fact that my phone now reverts to Landscape every time it wakes up, as if the switch that detects the sliding motion is broken or disconnected.
Does anyone have any details of where this switch is and how it works? I have heard mention of it being a magnetic reed switch, but I also see a little tab of metal in the slide mechanism that looks like a contact closure point for this.
Any ideas or information?
I know this isn't probably the best answer, but have you looked into software that will rotate the screen? You could then assign that software to a button and rotate that way.
Yeah, I have "Screen Rotate" mapped to the messaging button, but it still reverts to landscape every time the phone goes to sleep, even if I set the screen mode to "portrait" in the settings.
I took it apart all the way again last night, I still can't find any sign of the mechanism it uses to detect open/close.
There are some metal ground clips on the lcd side that I think it uses to sense its location. If you slide the phone out you will see a gold colored clip in one of the slide groves.

[Q] Force screen position?

Is there a way to force the nexus 10 to use a specific orientation while using an app that controls the screen orientation?
I have a thermal sensor (seek thermal) that uses the otg port. The software and sensor are listed as not running on the n10 (google play doesn't allow n10 to download. Not compiled for n10 specifically) , so I forced an install. The thermal sensor and software work great, but with the screen orientation /rotation is reported wrong to the software. The software detects/displays it in landscape mode when it is actually portrait and displays it as portrait when it is held in landscape. The thermal sensor is on an otg cable, so I can place it in any position. The sensor does not not influence the orientation problem. Since the software was made for phones, I think this may be related. The software detects it is poitioned at the opposite orientation than it actuall is. I've tried locking the screen rotation. No luck. The app flips the display even with the screen rotation locked.
It's not really usable in this position. Think of it as walking or driving with every word, sign or scene sideways. The text and controls are always sideways. I need to be able to flip the display (+/-) 90 degrees so the display shows the actual environment.
Is there an app or setting I can adjust to pass/report the actual screen orientation to the thermal sensor app?
System = n10 2012 running lollipop. 2 years with the n10 and have never seen an app that had this problem.
Thanks for any help!
Ed
On my N10 I'm using an app call "Set Orientation" which has an number of screen orientation controls. I specifically use it to allow landscape mode with the pogo connector pointed up (don't ask). I'm not sure if it provides what your looking for but it may be worth a try.

Always On in landscape?

So I know home screens cannot be rotated on stock launcher, but anyone able to rotate the AOD? In my car I have my mount/holder with my phone in landscape so it doesn't block too much of my head unit and my OCD is triggered looking at the AOD sideways. Also, I have the new Samsung wireless charging stand on preorder and was hoping to put the phone on it in landscape as well.
If it's not possible, not a big deal, but if I overlooked something I'd like to be able to rotate it.
I'm getting an Android Auto compatible radio in my car next week so it probably won't be an issue there as I'll have the AA screen rather than the AOD.

Navigation Program on E-ink in Landscape mode and without switching off

Hello,
the E-Ink display is perfect for a navigation program, if I drive a motorbike, but there are many problems. Maybe it is already solved by other users.
If I start it as E-Ink-App, the display is only in Portrait mode, but my holder is horizontal.
If I start it with Yota Mirror, the display is going to Energy Saving after a short time. It is not possible, to switch it on again, while driving.
Does anybody know, how to use a navigation program in Landscape mode on the E-Ink display?

I have changed the holder for the yotaphone to vertical now.

Smart View screen off?

Hi guys,
Is there really no way to turn off the phone screen when using smart view? I've been searching and there doesn't seem to be any threads in regards to the issue, so hopefully I'm just being stupid.
Surely such an obvious feature can't be missing?
Thanks

you need to install smart view app and configure in settings
With the latest android update, while connected to my tv with smart view (Note 8), my phone screen turns off after a few seconds. How can I set this so that it stays on? (I use it for exercise and sometimes want it on tv and sometimes on my phone. I don't want my phone screen to turn off.)
I've a note8 and I want my screen to be off.. somehow even after the update, my screen is still on. Can anyone point me to the right direction on where is the setting for this? Thanks

That is exactly what I also need - Connected with Smart View my Tab S3 Screen should stay ON - can't figure out how to do that. Is there a way?
Screen locks ...goes dim
Launch the app you want to screen cast then swipe down or up on ur screen...the app you are having trouble with is associated with a game booster .
Click on advanced settings of game booster/ launcher and disable "auto screen lock"
Hi, was wondering if anyone had further answers on this. Particularly the screen going off after few minutes whilst using smart view?. I have tab s3 and it does this whilst using zwift, it does not appear to be linked to a game booster or launcher (or j can't find that setting).
The screen doest lock i just need to swipe it to revive it, but i wish it could stay on so i can use both screens ?
Thanks all
Solved
Its seems there is nothing you can do when smart screen is activated. Even the 'screen always on' apps that are out there are ignored while smart screen is active. Also the alwzys on in developer options is ignored.
However i found a solution with an app called Macrodroid. Create a macro to be trigged when smart screen is running , adding always on screen as the action and its working fine :good::good:
I think this would also work in reverse for those of you who are having problem wiyh screen not dimming or going standby

This did not work for me. The Macrodroid isn't even recognizing Smart View being opened.
