Google Assistant not working with my account - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I've been troubleshooting this for about a week and my searches are coming up with nothing.
Model: Angler
ROM: ABCrom_angler-7.1.1-20170313
GApps: Mini_Dynamic_GApps-7.1.x-20170215
SU: Magisk-v11.1
Kernel: ElementalX-N6P-4.06
Problem: Google Assistant will activate and hear my query (doesn't matter what the query or command is) then respond with "I'm sorry, I am unable to process your request."
Things that have been tried:
wipe of system and data; fresh install of ROM, open gapps, Magisk su, elemental x kernel.
wipe system and try dynamic gapps.
verifying my online account settings are not blocking Assistant access.
Now here's the strange thing that has worked on every setup this far: I add my wife's Google account to the phone and set Assistant to use it. Assistant then takes all requests. My account is a standard free account (read: not business) from back in the original days of Gmail.
This began to happen a couple of days after Google announced Assistant for all but I was waiting for a ROM update and didn't begin investigating it in earnest until this week.
To reiterate: this is not a problem with 'Ok Google' or voice activation.
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi... Strange that you get it working with your wife account and not yours. Sounds like some privacy features enabled on your account. Well, that's just a thought...
Did GA ever work associated with your account? You didn't specify it in the first place

Sorry about that.
Yes my account fully worked with Google Assistant before about a week ago. I had been using Get Assistant-Root to enable Assistant on my 6p before Google released it last week. About a day after the rollout began I started noticing the problem. Since then I have clean flashed and just let the Google app update itself to Assistant.
Edit: something to add my account activity on the web is showing Google Assistant taking my query then showing the sorry reply so it's going to Google's servers and getting logged. If anyone has and idea or knows the most direct way to contact Google to have then troubleshoot. This is actually the first time I've been unable to find a solution or Google it out. ?

Have you ever found a solution to your problem?

I hate to say it, but with time the Assistant started working again. Nothing I tried really seen to affect it. Must have been on Google's end.

I am just the regular [email protected] user and my google now 'help and feedback' says google now on my Domain has been disabled. Also, I have 4.4 KRT16S. I have no idea what happened or how it happened but it did. I have searched the internet and most of them ask to login to admin.google.com and go to settings and so on but my google account just cannot login and have the access to admin.google.com
Any help is highly appreciated. . .

Hi,
I had this problem too and there was only one way I could fix it.
Install Google Search v2.6 and update it later if you want.
Cheers.

Yeah, did the same a couple of days back and got it back. I was hoping Google would fix the problem, waited till 4.4.2 and had absolutely nothing. The search app itself is screwed up pretty bad. Thank you for the reply though. :good::good:

Google now problem - "Google Search has Stopped"

Possibly relevant information;
I'm in the UK
I updated to OTA 4.4.3 yesterday on my Nexus 4
Completely stock and un-rooted.
Running GEL
Basically woke up this morning and my phone was in an infinite loop of "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped"
After taking quite a while on it, I uninstalled GEL and uninstalled Google Search updates, reinstalled them both. Removed all data from Google Play services and set up GEL again; exactly the same thing happened.
I also then realised that this was happening on my Nexus 7 as well, I managed to get my Nexus 4 Google Now working offline; but as soon as it reconnects it crashes.
I believe that it is picking up some rouge data from Google's servers it cannot handle then crashing, but I cannot find a way at all to remove my settings and options from my google account, I can't find any record of this happening elsewhere today but it may be that google's servers have wibbled and a lot of people are experiencing this; in the meantime though my phone is practically unusable.
OK; so I have got it back up and running by disabling GEL and Google Now; but I want my Google Now back!
I'm happy to wipe the device if it fixes it; but worried that it's on my online profile anyway, so first of all is anybody else having the same issues today and second of all is there any way online (web based) to change my Google now settings and disable cards, etc?
Stack Trace first line (seems most important)
java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'int.java.util.Calendar.get(int)' on a null object reference
I've disabled calendar sync on device and deleted calendar data; but still happening..not sure if it's grabbing my calendar data from my google account?

Removed my google account, added a 2nd account and it works fine, back to my account and it's broken again. Something on my profile on google's server must be broken; but don't know how I can go about fixing that - as settings only available via Google Now, which crash!
It's fixed itself...with a lot of coaxing.
It was made worse as I had to get a train today; when it was back up and running google now was reminding me of my booked trains, which is new to me. My train home was in something like 37373733292 hours. Clicking this card made it crash! Removed the card and all good.

Lollipop Upgrade issues with play service.

Hi
My nexus 10 received the lollipop update last night. Once the upgrade was completed I tried to open up gmail or email where upon I received the following error message:-
Google Play Services, Google play services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacturer!
I then did a quick google which pointed me to APKMirror website. I tried to update the google play service but it's made no difference. In addition to this I can no longer see the google play icon so cannot access or update any new apps.
Has anyone else got this issue?
Thanks
Stan..

No. I flashed lollipop using fastboot (losing all data in the process); this could be an option for you.
Cheers poldie,
I wiped my nexus and put it in recovery mode which sorted it out in the end.
Not happy about doing that but heh it worked.

Essential Phone lock-out after factory reset

Hello,
For context: My friend bought an essential phone a while back that her and her sister used for a while until supposedly an update released requiring them to sign into their google account. None of their credentials seemed to work and so they gave up on the phone all together and got new devices. My ancient LG G4 needs to be replaced and she offered me the phone if I could figure out how to get around the lock-out. At first I thought it'd be as simple as performing a factory reset or rooting the phone, etc.
Well, it turns out that they had already tried that. The lock-out persists even after a full factory reset was performed. I double-checked all of their credentials with them to make sure none of them worked. Nothing. Since I am locked out and the phone has been reset, installing rooting programs is much more difficult and I really don't know what options I have left. My only hunch at the moment is that there might be some way to use the shell on the fast loader to interface with the phone, but I doubt I'd have many permissions. I've scoured lots of forums and videos looking for new approaches, but many of them assume I have access to the phone and can install apps, etc. Does anyone have advice? Let me know if you need more info. Thank you!
Are you getting a message like "This Device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device"
If so, that is Factory Reset Protection (FRP). If the password on the Google account used on that phone was changed, it makes it even harder to solve.
I don't know if FRP can be bypassed on a PH-1. You could try searching for it.

Yes, that is exactly the message I received. At least now I know what that security measure is called. That might help me on my search. Thanks!

I was able to bypass FRP on a used Essential Phone I got from eBay, which was running PPR1.180610.091 (August 2018 Pie release, the first one ever). Most instructions seem to involve using TalkBack or GBoard input settings to navigate to the online Help & Support activity, then searching for a help page that has a YouTube video to launch Chrome from there and download a replacement Google Account Manager and another app to force browser sign-in for Google accounts.
Hopefully, those hints will be enough to help figure out which instructions you find online are legitimate.

Good to know that can work on Essential Pie, I thought it was a fake video the 1St time I saw someone doing that on some other phone!

I appreciate your advice, but I've seen that one before and it no longer works with my release. The video never loads in, can't actually be clicked on to open. I'd need a more modern approach unfortunately.

Fire HD 10 [7th Gen] 5.3.7.0 GPlay inst. | Google Login Problems

Yesterday i noticed that for some reason my Google account got unlinked from my Google Play Apps, so i couldn't use any of the Google related stuff. When i tried to re-link/login i got the message "There was a Problem communicating with the Google Servers - Try again later"
So i started scouring the Internet for fixes, of which there are a few but rarely are they applicable to FireOS and they basicly all boil down to "reboot, wipe cache, delete data, reinstall" and so on. Evantually i ended up doing a Factory reset but that made it only worse since now all my Apps are gone except for the ones from the Amazon Store which got saved in the recovery. I reinstalled the Google Play APKs and got again that same error message so i tried creating a new account which went kinda okay until it came to the final login, again that error, however once i closed the Google settings a pop-up offered me to login via Browser and that worked for whatever reason, so at least i got access to the Google Play Store again, but with no access to my App Library. Even more curious, occasionally Google picks up on my Login attempts and i get e-mails with "security warnings" about a new device. Using other devices i can login to Google just fine btw.
Currently i have 3 Theories as to what happened:
1. It just happened randomly, as it appearantly sometimes happens with Android if the Internet is to be believed.
2. A sneaky Update changed something and now the Google Login Auth on my Fire clashes with whatever updated, i assume that based on what is currently happening with the Amazon Netflix App and Google Play.
3. A few days ago i installed WhatsApp (sadly a necessity since it stopped supporting Windows Phone and there are People i need to communicate with via WA) and since Google Play stopped working "shortly" after i'm inclined to assume a correlation. Ironically WhatsApp doesn't work anymore after the reset, it now got connection problems too.
At this point i've pretty much tried all fixes, applicable to FireOS, i could find short of rooting the Fire and modifying the "hosts" file, though i looked at the File, using a root explorer, and it already contains what the Fix said it should contain, so i'm not sure if that would actually help.
I hope someone here has some more ideas on what i could try to get it working again, though i'm already getting used to the idea of having to Flash it in order to get Google Play working again. (kinda a feeling of excited dread and second-guessing the idea, so i'd prefer methods that aren't quite as invasive right now.)

Your Fire tablet have registered with Amazon account that causing all Google services. Try to deregister it and reset to .
Useful methods to install Google apps using Fire toolbox:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/development/official-amazon-fire-toolbox-v1-0-t3889604
Can you protect your Google account by adding phone number in Google account settings.
So i did another Factory Reset, i couldn't get around not login into my Amazon account but this time i skipped restoring the Back-up and it worked, I was able to login into my google account, though that might be because i did it via the GPlay Store which kinda looked like a Browser login, rather than via GPlay Services but it is solved regardless, at least for now. I'm going to keep an eye on it for a few days, but i hope the Problem is solved for good.
