I used to have HD Voice (VoLTE) working on my 6P on Verizon, but have recently (for the past few months) realized it no longer works. So I went to the Verizon website to enable "HD Voice" and it shows "Not Compatible" for the 6P. Does anyone have VoLTE working on Verizon?
I am on PureNexus 7.1.1-20170215-OFFICIAL with ElementalX-N6P-4.06, Vendor: NUF26K, Build: NOF26W
Edit: Updating for anyone else who might be experiencing the same issue.
After a response from user mademan420, the difference I saw was mademan420 had the My Verizon app installed on their device and I did not have any Verizon app(s) installed.
Installing the My Verizon Nexus app made my device show as "Compatible" under HD Voice in the Verizon app and on the Verizon website once again. HD Voice works now.
For anyone also inquiring, for now HD Voice aka VoLTE only works from carrier to same carrier calls between compatible devices. It will not work on cross-carrier calls, although there have been reports of carriers testing with some users and compatibility in the future.

Just to confirm, I am not talking about simultaneous voice and data. I am talking about HD Voice, where if you make a phone call with someone else with HD Voice on Verizon, you get the HD symbol in the phone app.
Also, what ROM are you on? Do you have any Verizon apps installs (My Verizon)?
Does your Verizon account show your 6P as compatible with HD Voice?

Great. I installed the 'My Verizon' app and now it shows HD Voice as an option on their website and in the app. I was able to enable HD Voice and it works again.
Thank you for your help, I knew it had to be a possibility still since it worked in the past.
I never had the My Verizon app in the past, they must of changed something where you have to have the app to get HD Voice.

Ok here's my dilemma, in about a month I'm going over to parts of Europe/on a cruise. I plan to take my phone and wanted to see what options I had. I've been back and forth on devices but settled on the nexus s since it gave me the best overall experience however I am now stuck with the fact I don't have wifi calling. I planned on using that on the cruise to call out and at my hotels where wifi will be available. Do I have other options? Can I use my phone and do Google voice to call/text?
Side note if I don't figure this out I was either considering trying the sensation or maybe getting a xoom since I wanted a tablet but again can I use Google voice at least to call or text? Or just get a cheapy phone that does wifi calling like a blackberry and go with that?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
you can send texts via wifi. if you link google voice with your phone, you can log into g voice via browser on your phone and then send texts. I'm not sure about making calls though.
Can't you do SIP WiFi calling? Setup options under Settings --> call settings --> accounts Add Account
That's assuming you have a SIP line?
Skype is another option...
he can do that, but he will still be charged for it. idk if that's what op had in mind or not.
If you're getting free Wifi on the boat or hotel, you can use Google Voice to send SMS for no additional cost. You cannot make voice calls over GV without roaming charges on your T-Mobile bill.
To make voice calls, either set up a SIP account or sign up for Skype and use that over free Wifi.

There should be a hacked wifi calling app available..I'm pretty sure I saw it in the dev forum, so just dig it up. Of course u'll have to be rooted. I'm using wifi calling on my nexus one right now from Pakistan.

Thanks just dug up the thread and saw that development has been stalled. Hopefully it'll be available in the future.

I have used i9023 on skype for vidoe calling with more than 30 mins.
Did you check if the call drop is happening from the other end?
Sorry for the offtopic, but did the newest skype version change your icons while receiving a call?

I got Nexus S day before yday.
I installed Skype from market yday, so I suppose that it's the latest version. But skype video calling doesn't work, I mean I don't see the video call option.
Should be doing something in the settings? Thanks

it seems like skype is aware of this issue with canadian i9020/i9023. skype 2 doesnt seem to recognize it as a nexus s and thus we dont get the video call function. Im not sure when a fix is supposed to come
I just saw this thread, so I figured I would download skype on my NexusS (just got it a week ago). I did a quick test call to my wife who`s out of town and it worked flawlessly. Not sure why it`s not working on some of your phones.
Hey guys,
Looking to upgrade to the Nexus 4 when it comes to stock. The only 'bloatware' I care on my current MyTouch4G is the wifi calling feature from TMO. Since this phone doesn't have any of the TMO bloatware, does that mean it does not have wifi calling built in?
It's a great feature for inside offices and homes, and I would like to keep it. This may be the 'break it or make it' factor in my phone decision. I've searched and have not had any success. Can someone confirm this? Thank you.
T-Mobile has said that they will not be releasing WiFi calling for the Nexus 4.

So there is absolutely no software from TMO on the Nexus 4 at all, right?
Thank you.

That's correct. But T-Mobile WiFi calling isn't the only answer to your need. Look for Vonage app one the market. It's free, uses your mobile number to call out and the quality might be even better that what you're used to. It won't accept calls so for that you might have to check out some of the sip solutions if you need to receive calls on WiFi. Also, Vonage works over 3G/4G as well.

Well in that case it's simple. Just use Google voice with your number. Google voice sends all text messages thought the internet connection whichever available at the time. The are some inconsistencies for MMS but once you port your number there are other benefits which I think outweigh the problems with MMS. Vonage app sends text messages through internet also.

It's the xposed module and yes it does work. Somewhere in the settings, I can't remember. I think it's in the security hacks section of xposed.
It is in wanam under security.
Does anyone know if AT&T's statement regarding allowing video chat apps that come preloaded on AT&T phones to once again work over their mobile network by the end of 2013 applies to Google Hangouts? I know they were addressing the outrage associated with them blocking Facetime...but it seems like it should apply to Hangouts also. I can't get an answer from AT&T, everyone I've talked to with customer service didn't even know what Google Hangouts was.
Note 3 -- Tapatalk version [HORRIBLE.1x]
It seems like Hangout uses the actual phone number from the carrier to send and receive SMS even though it was my Google Voice number that was confirmed after the update. I have tried sending SMS from Hangout but my friend did not receive it on the other end.
I had AT&T blocked all text messages since switching to Google Voice when they told me that they would only offer unlimited text message plan. Yea, I was annoyed enough to go change my number on all my friend's contact list. SMS from AT&T itself isn't blocked and those are the ones that show up in Hangout.
The latest Hangouts update allows me to use over mobile data BTW.

Sweet I just checked mine and mine works too. Awesome
I'm thinking about moving to the 935U ROM for the sake of faster updates and removing some bloatware.
I do use Wi-Fi Calling, so I was wondering if anyone had setup the app successfully with the 935U ROM?
I also use the Sprint voicemail app - and i did find that the older apk works, just wondering if you there's been any compatibility issues?
Thanks

When I was using this firmware, wifi calling was built into the phone app. I couldn't get voicemail to work though. I also couldn't get the Kids mode app working.

I'm using the Wi-Fi calling and it fine. It's just there's no Voicemail app. I installed the Sprint Voicemail on it, but it's having a hard time connecting.
no sprint vm apk's will work because they have dependencies on some other sprint apps which wont work properly because they have some on system files.
So unless someone debugs and finds all of those and ports them never gonna happen.
Unless sprint gets finger out of butts and makes a proper VM app like the other providers. This is them basically not supporting unlocked phones.
Ive been on 935U since it was available to install and generally love it. Excellent battery life. WIFI calling works fine for me as long as the wireless connection is solid. No voice mail app though and Sprint apps do not work on it which I have gotten used to at this point. I prefer not having all the bloat.
I have been having a couple issues recently, not sure if due to the latest security update. Ive had issues with the keyboard coming up blank, text messages being delayed and/or coming in all at once at the same time, and today I happened to check my voice mail and there was a message from this morning but my phone never rang. I have even had a complete lockup/reboot recently which I never had on this firmware. So not really sure whats up.
I have been thinking about getting back on a Sprint firmware for when Nougat is ready so might end up switching back.
