[Q] How Do I access my External-SD Card? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Ok I finally found the answer to this question and am posting it in case someone else needs to write to the External-SD Card.
As I have found, Samsung/Google/Android does not directly allow writing to the SD-Card. I guess you have to trick the system into allowing it to write. I ended up making a directory under /storage/0000-0000/Android/data called /com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup and pointed TiBU to that folder and now I can save my backups to the External SD card.
Here's the article I found showing you how:

Changing file premissions

Hello,
Today i flashed the new froyo firmware and cant write anything on my external sd card if i connect it to the pc. I rooted the phone and downloaded root explorer, but i cant manage to change the premissions of the internal sd and external sd card.
I however can change permissions to other files so the app and root is working fine.
Does it have something to do with the firmware or with my phone... i have no clue anymore. I am nearly desperate and about to downgrade to some older rom. Saw some other guys posting same problem but noone seemed to care. I am opening a new thread as my 2 questions didn't get answered in the development section under the froyo debate...
Please again if anyone is so kind to reveal the secret to this i am sure many people will be happy...
tnx again and sorry for spamming but as i sad i am loosing my hopes

[Q] Enable applications to write to the external SD Card

Hi
I need to figure out how to add an application to the group media_rw so that it can write to the external Sd Card @ /mnt/extSdCard. I tried to make SD Card world writeable but it doesn't seem to like that. Since the group has write permission I need to get the id in question added to a group, but it doesn't seem to work like UNIX/Linux. Anyone have any idea how Android 4.2.2. does this? I am trying to do this on a Galaxy S4 I337M.
Thanks
Pete

If you're working at that level, you're in the wrong place - go to the XDA pure development forums. You're asking an Android question, and if you go up a few levels, there are a LOT of better places to ask.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 Moving app+files to SD Card

Hello folks, I just got new SD Card 64GB because the official rom from samsung systems takes about 7GB from the internal storage [Notice: My internal storage 16GB].
So, I want to move almost all of my apps + files to the SD card (not all of them mostly the high size files).
For e.x: I've Mortal Kombat X from the play store when I move it to the SD card only the app is moved but the data stay in the internal storage Phone/Android/obb/xxxx also I tried other apps the same thing!
also I've tried moving the file by my self to SD/Android/obb/xxxx same problem and on launching the game it required an file installation (dowloading)!
My device info:
Model: GT-i9505 LTE
Android Ver: Official Samsung Lollipop 5.0.1
Internal Storage: 16GB
SD Card: 64GB
Root: NOT ROOTED Device
So, is there any solution ?
Thanks for your time guys...
You can try this. However, there is no guarantee it will work, and you assume any and all risks in trying it, including but not limited to bootloops or soft bricks. The app requires root as it needs to be able to pull data files from the /data partition, and you'll need to make a second partition on your MicroSD for the storage space. Certain features require a purchase to unlock.
I will give it a try!
I have just downloaded it from the play store but I think it required a root access!
Is there other way to move files to SD card without rooting my phone?
And what is the easiest way to root my phone
I mentioned that root was needed in my first post on this thread and why it was needed. There's no way to do what you want to do without rooting, so search for CF-AutoRoot on the forums for the easiest way to root.
Okay strephon thanks dude ☺I really appreciate that...

Can't write and read from internal SD card after upgrading to Flyme 6.1.0.0g

Hi,
Today I upgraded my Meizu MX5 to Flyme 6.1.0.0G, using Method 2 detailed in the following tutorial: https://forum.meizufans.eu/topic/25...ional-firmware-on-your-chinese-mainland-meizu
It wasn't the first time I used this method to upgrade my firmware version. Unfortunately, this time something went wrong during the process, and though my phone booted up successfully with the new firmeware, I had noticed that I could no longer access my internal storage through the file browser (it crashed everytime). In addition, I couldn't copy files to my phone using PC. It seems like the phone's sd card has become unreadable and I can no longer make any change in it.
I am really hopeless, and don't know how to fix it. All I want now is to go back to my previews firmware (I already have the image). Yet, I don't know how to do that, because I now can't even copy the image to my SC Card...
I feel so lost right now, and I'll appreciate any help you might be able to provide!
I'd appreciate any help!

Looks not so good:
new galaxy TAB A7 10.4 Cannot Move APPA to SD card as in previous models
BEWARE you cannot move any APPs over to the external SD card, I have a 64GB internal which is large. If you get a smaller internal and download may APPs you coud be out of gas with nowhere to go. Samsung claims it is a copyright problem. However how come all of a sudden its a problem when...

This user says that it should also work on a stock unrooted device too.
