Yes only Chinese firmwares.
With all these updates there was never once with any fix for the notification issues. I got a feeling this is not in the software team's agenda. With my usage, I got notifications quite regularly with the native email app and the Google news update notifications quite regularly if check on these app every now and then. However if I happened to leave for a while, then it will kind of go into deep sleep and completely shut off. This can be a plus or minus, cause it can save the battery quite considerably, depend on how one looks at it. Probably with my usage pattern I can live with it.
Installed it last night. Thanks for the changelog, I couldn't read it, because it was in Chinese. I haven't noticed any difference either. Most Chinese users will only be interested in QQ and WeChat notifications, which seem to work fine
I starting to believe something is wrong with my mate 9 (MAH-AL00) last OTA I recevied was B167 and I've been checking on a regular basis in system update and no firmware updates appear (missed 173 and now 175)

Did you checked with wifi and 4g?
Did you tried hicare with China region?
Did you tried the 3 dots in system update to download latest full package?
If you tried all this maybe a factory reset can get you the update, but don't blame me if you didn't find the update.

yes I tried all the above even using a VPN connected to China network didn't get me any update. I also tried connecting the phone to a computer with HiSuite but could find an option to manually upload the update.

So maybe try factory reset, I know it's weird but i usually get updates after a factory reset.
Maybe because my apn settings will be the default one,not sure.
You can also update manually with firmware finder application from playstore.

man factory reset is something I have done in a while and not sure if it will delete my data or settings and since I'm not rooted installing and configuring everything again will be painful,
I downloaded just now and I can see the update in the list but it appears with 0.0 MB in both options listed.

Sorry no idea, but as far as i know Chinese firmwares are easy and fast to get, not sure why ur not so lucky, and yes factory reset will wipe ur data and settings.
If you decide to do a factory reset, try reset settings first maybe you got luck there.
i went to the settings for firmware updater and enable updates via system update, went and try to check for updates and now I got the notification for the 175 update, I installed it and I can see if a little bit faster with some apps, problem now none of my google apps works is asking me to install core GMS again

You know....I am soooooo fed up with this!!! and I need help.
I have auto-updating turned OFF and software scheduling updates OFF, and then now, I just connected to my Wifi connection and my phone started to download a 350MB software update bundle even though every AUTO Checking of Software Updates are TURNED OFF. I dont know why its still downloading updates when I have all of these disabled to automatically check for updates.
Please see print screens.
I DO NOT want ANY software updates to be downloaded especially I dont even know what updates they are.
Please help me on this. I want this to be disabled.
Just sick of this!!!!! I mean really....
Now, I do not really know what this 300MB update bundle was, but it wasnt the Android 4.3 update as I just checked.
I have no clue whatsoever on what updates were installed.
How can I check what updates were installed?
Thanks

My phone is not ROOTED.
Can you post screenshots of this please on where I can find this in order to disable this?
I want to disable auto-updates because Im afraid it might "break" things.
Thanks, I would appreciate some print screens.
Will Android version 4.3 be downloaded automatically as well?
Now that, I will not mind if 4.3 would be installed automatically since I heard that should fix the "lag" issue on the screen on most S4 phones.

Ok, if I root my phone which I do not want to do then is there anyway to disable these updates?
I just want to conserve the phone storage space which is now approx. 8.36gb and therefore I do not want these updates.

Since your phone is factory stock an update wont break things.
Samsung updates are not to be feared.
And the updates. Dont waste space... as the software gets refines you get more.
I now have 9.1 gigs when I use to have 8giga when I just got the phone
Samsung is optimizing the software and it is getting slimmer.
Updates do not waste space.
So relax... it sounds like this is your first Samsung flagship.

You will get 4.3 automatically if you leave the software update feature on.
Samsung update services are decent.
For example the Samsung Galaxy S2 was updated to 4.1.2 via OTA even tho it is considered an old phone from the Gingerbread 2.3.4 - 2.3.6 era. (FEB 2011)

Yes.
But my advice... leave auto update on.
If you tap the check for updates button you may see an update but it wont download because the update server space is full.
Your fear is understood but unnecessary.
Its best to let it download by itself over wifi.
When it is done it will ask you if you want to update... it will not reboot your phone without you knowing.... nor will it install new software without you knowing.

Sorry, but one more last question. I tend to turn off my WiFi on my S4 most of the time even when I am at home.
Now I enabled the Auto Updates as you recommended. But as most of the time, I have the WiFi OFF and only enable it when I need to.
Will that be OK for the updates?
So far, I did not get the Android 4.3 update.

3G strains the battery much more than wifi bro, leave wifi on if you can for better battery life. OTA`s can be downloaded on 3G but wifi is cheaper and faster. 4.3 isn`t out yet, will take another 2-3 months for the official one, leaks may come earlier.

As the user above says.
Leave wifi on for better battery life when you are at home.
If you turn off wifi and do not want the phone connected to the internet make sure you turn off mobile data as well.
With your internet service off: The update will just take longer. I am not sure the updater service downloads the data in pieces as a torrent client or download manager would do.
So its best to leave it on... go to sleep and wake up to see the notification that the update has been downloaded and ready for installation.

If you have problems after update, you can make factory reset, which will erase all personal data from the phone and fix the errors, keeping you with the lastest firmware. Now you can go to application manager/all apps and find SoftwareUpdate. Disable it and I think, you wont be able to update before enabling it again. No root needed to do this.

No you can't roll back as you would on a PC from the phone itself.
What you will have to do is download the version of firmware you want and like and use a PC based software called ODIN to re-flash the phone.
If you do this you can keep your old settings (it wont wipe your personal data) and "roll back" to a version you preffer.
However updates seldom if ever break things in my region. I do not know about other regions.
For example: I keep my S4 STOCK STOCK STOCK so I have never had the need to roll back any update.. and nothing so far has broken in the 4 updates I have received over wifi.
Other people may have other experiences, possibly bad ones with apps crashing or the phone being slow.
So what they normally do in such a negative case is a Factory reset.
A factory reset will have the new firmware but it removes all your settings and downloaded apps and presents the phone as if it just came from the factory.
Your settings and apps will then be reloaded once you log into Google and / or your Samsung account.
So relatively speaking it is not a major hassle.

Thanks for all the info here. So far no issues.
Just got the update. Don't know yet what's new.
Nothing visible so far, maybe some optimization and fix for the screen bug.
Only difference I can spot is that the network type (H/4G/LTE etc.) is now placed on the left of the reception bar instead of above it.

The default SMS app now has stickers(You actually have to download Sketch from the play store)
and there are some new quick share options at the popup menu that appears when you share a file.
Also, it says something about a revamped camera ui but I see nothing different....

I tried updating with root and it failed. I also want to know if root is possible with thia update.
I'm using a rooted phone myself - while I use the DRM key emulation I know OTA updates will most likely fail so I will perform the upgrade manually.
Would anyone please check the Android security patch level?
If you go to System Settings - About phone. One entry says "Android security patch level" which is February 1st on the .163 version. Did this one increase maybe?
If so, it would be worth the hassle with Flashtool and rerooting and such for me to upgrade.

Sorry it is not quite working out right for you. When I first got phone I downloaded the GMS app (from hiApp I believe) One thing I did notice, that I did not mention, is that Playstore crashed the first time I opened it after this update but then I tried it again and it worked fine. I have never had to reinstall google apps with any updates. I'm still not rooted which is unusual for me. I've decided to more or less ride out this device and not root unless, Xposed for Nougat comes out. I will probably part with it once the Note 8 comes out.

I am done follow link for fast update firmware.
You should not fear done flash update package and rebrand , if you follow steps update should be done.
After update successfully, device might be locked again.
I am try to rebrand from C636 to C432 or C432 to AL00 and C567 ,it guide that work for me.
Mate 9 Pro just updated OTA to AL00C00B213 (741MB). Play store, Gmail, contacts & sync work fine afterwards. I only ran GMSinstaller once when I first got the phone. I expected to have to rerun and reinstall google stuff after each update but happily that hasn't been the case for me.
It's always applied Quick Update so maybe that's why?
I have not deleted HiCare & other Huawei apps & never registered a Huawei ID.
is it recommended registering HuaweiID?

battery consumption
Anybody noticing a greater power consumption from this latest update I no longer get the 2 day of moderate use out of a fully charged phone need to do it 24 hours now? hope they develop a fix quickly even sticking it in ultra battery mode seems to drain quicker than it did before.
Also when I check to see battery consumption, WLAN always seems to be on even when I'm not using it as their is always a blue line underneath?

Download latest firmware zip for your device with correct model number from asus website, and paste that in the internal storage of your phone; as soon as you remove the usb cable after transfer you will get a pop-up for update

Go to 'Service centre' app -> Service Tab -> online chat -> zenfone max pro -> Drivers and firmware
You'll find the link for your model there.
And please use the search button, there already exists a thread on the same topic, why create a new one.
Cheers !

I am not sure why but I think even my device (6GB 601KL) came with v314 when I purchased it (Flipkart for you too, I presume). And I updated to 318-323 without problems. Although I flashed modified stock ROM

so i updated it to 316 manually hoping that it would show popup for latst version it didn't. i tried again with 318. it's still not showing any update for 323. now I don't know whether flashing 323 would resolve it or not. thinking to replace it

Hey i have a weird earphone jack bug on this phone using a KZ ATE earphone. Doesn't happen on another earphone though.
Can you check from your side and report same to me ?
Steps:-
1) Plug in any earphone you have.
2)Open camera and click a picture.
3) view clicked image from camera.
Did you notice the screen is touched , i.e. the effect on screen when a screen is touched, the whole screen area turns a little bit grey to show it's touched.
basically after plug in earphones , the UI seems to behave little different that some option is already pressed inside even though we didn;t touched anything.

323 update has been withdrawn from Asus servers and full ROM has been removed from website, due to some problems with update by Asus. Those who updated are still suffering, while those who didn't, can wait for the Sep update, where these issues will be (hopefully) resolved.

Why Asus pulled the 323 update? And what sufferings are you referring to?
After I updated my 9t (128gb variant) to miui 11 I've noticed that sometimes it starts to overheat on idle, happens a lot when I hit the alarm to postpone it 5 mins but mostly at random when I turn off the display, and a couple of minutes after the heat starts it tends to lag and restart itself.
Has anyone else suffered from this? Is there any solutions or workarounds?
I was having all kinds of issues after updating to miui 11. Including phone turning off, battery drain, lags, etc. went to Update system, tabbed miui 11 logo many times. Once extra settings was activated, tabbed top right corner (3 dots) and tabbed on download latest package. After phone updated everything wad fixed. 3 days already, no issues. This option downloads same version but full file, more than 2gb, please try. Please clear cache also.
Dude, that totally fixed my overheating issues too, thank you!

Okay... I believe this has confirmed my suspicions.
I remember MIUI 11.0.2.0 was available and shortly after pulled from the server to fix major bugs and then made available again as the same exact update. Therefore, people who already updated BEFORE it was pulled are experiencing these bugs. This is why downloading latest package through updater app worked. Same may have happened with 11.0.3.0
OR
As I haven't updated this phone (came with 10.3.15) it usually does not download the full package when an update is available (as you said) and it does when using that method. So that simply fixes it.
Who knows...

Yes... Are you going against what I said or agreeing with what I said?
Edit: or do you mean you got the update notification which did not change the version number?

I didn't mean that in a aggressive way, but... What do you mean?
No further update notifications?
Edit: never mind I think I get it, it is because you are on global (maybe China?) I think. That's why only 11.0.1.0
