I read this article ... and our X8 it seems vulnerable to an remote attack usdd
read article and check this test with browser:
remote attack usdd test page
i use GingerDx v029 with stock kernel is the attack is successful, my imei code appeared, I do not know if with other ROM, you will experience also with your rom and report if you want.
the solution appears to be to use a new dialer called Dialer One, free on Google play.... or some Web users have reported that the code appears to be ineffective when run on browsers other than the default, which could be a temporary solution.
This is just blatant scare-mongering!
No issue found here!
...for me with GDX v029 stock kernel and stock browser .... imei code has appeared, and the attack is successful
:silly:
And did your entire world implode? No - it's a proof of concept page, that's all..
with all my respect, but I think you did not understand the significance of this test
...and if you open a page in a that he wrote 10 times your puk wrong and you did lock your sim? or cancel and your photos or your contacts
I do not believe in the Mayan prophecy for 2012 ....the world will survive .... but you may lose a good time or good memories

ciao ciao
Keep to legitimate websites and you'll have no such issues..

nice speech, but the security flaw persists my friend
It's a known issue on many phones, seems JB is not vulnerable, and if I remember correctly neither are CM roms but not too sure about it..
Problem lies in the way the dialer handles those requests. But if it shows the IMEI it is not said the remote wipe using this vulnerablety is also working. You are potential vulnerable to it.
An option is to install a second dialer so a pop up screen will appear, the code will not be activated automaticly that way.

I don't think CM7 is invulnerable ..I remember one of my friend saying that the test took him to the dialer and showed the IMEI
POTATO!!!!
Installed Adblock, it didn't help. Now I installed Adaway the same thing. The fact of the matter is I couldn't follow written or video instructions on my Nexus S 4.1.2 because I could not find the options described in the instructions on my phone. I wouldn't have minded the ad if it wasn't ballooning and getting in the way.
Here is the ad's url which is expanding and blocking the page when I try to enlarge the small prints.
u.mobpartner.mobi/?mobtag=187526_51f6b85b7d200_13072920&s=423263&a=1673&dad=180834&dc=553&dt=11518&dco=CA&dpool=38849&ip=XXX.XXX.XXX&dse=70133&dbrid=16&dds=1375123547&dp=54686&dcr=294953&dpro=0&dgp=0&drep=4&du=1&diu=1&dtl=0&dmoid=435&dopid=128&dosid=2&dovid=247&dsubid=1294242&dtid=&dcook=0&dmod=Nexus+S&dosv=4.1&dos=Android&dbr=Google&dcpty=2&dic=0&dst=1
Out of the above only thing I could tell is my IP(which I was adviced not to show , so I put XXX.XXX.XXX) and the make of my phone.
Can anybody help please.
Hi,
I would like to have my SearchContentProvider to be used from Google Search as well, so my app users can also use Google Search and retrieve search results from my app.
I followed the instructions in this tutorial: developer.android.com/guide/topics/search/adding-custom-suggestions.html
but without success, also the example mentions there seems to be gone, i just found the old code on github, but its also not working.
i searched already and haven't found yet a working solutions.
did anybody have an idea or example what todo that you App Search Provider appears in Google Search -Phone Search - Settings, and will be used to deliver search results when a user uses google search ?
(I don't mean, app indexing, where you can index the pages a user already saw, i want to display search results which the user haven't seen before)
thanks for your help
I've been following all the Google/Amazon hoopla "tit for tat" stuff that's been going on between the two companies with Youtube being banned from the Echo/Echo show. Well I came across an "Unofficial Youtube Skill for Alexa" on Github that may possibly be a temporary solution until the big boys stop fighting.
Now I've not tried this as I dont own an Echo Show & cant post any direct links but If anyone wants to give it a shot & report back if it works, go to github & add "/Fenton-Fenton-Fenton/alexa-tube" for full instructions.
this one is outdated. try alexa-youtube-skill.
It works but it can be very slow. The video part is in his todo list.
Hey,
I saw a call recording setting in the stock voice recorder app provided !!
