You on android 7.1?
I have both Gear S2 and S3 as well, which also connect fine with the A2017G. I am on B06 (Android 6.0.1). I had to freeze StrategyProvider though, otherwise my Gear kept disconnecting every now and then.

You would need to root the phone, and install Titanium Backup, then you can 'freeze' apps, this will keep the apps on the phone, but prevent them from running.

I want to be able to use spay and i'm a little iffy about blowing the warranty already?

If it wasn't for Spay I would probably root it.
It seems it is the "screen-lock cleaner" that messes with things, atleast that problem would be solved with a custom rom wouldn't it?

you don't even need root to disable it on some apps. But I believe it really isn't the problem here, since someone said that you have to freeze something else
Also, wouldn't S Pay work if you have an okay SafetyNet? No idea really
If you ever do this I recommend Link2SD to freeze the app.
The problem definately seems to be the screen-lock cleaner, it shuts down the Gear-apps shortly after I turn off the screen (i get a notification every time i turn the phone back on) no matter what settings I use. Is this a ZTE software feature that will disappear if I install a new rom or is it a marshmallow/nougat problem?

MiFavor problem. But I guess you could also find the killer app and freeze it or just uninstall it
I use the app Automate with a looped flow which closes heartyservice when device is locked. Do not forget to exclude Automate in the battery saver setting and restart your device

Why don't you use LBE Privacy Guard? With it you can determine for every single app what it's allowed to do. It's free and downloadable.on Google Play.

Lbe has security hole when booting up. Plus doesnt work always. Had instances where something blocked got throught. Pdroid is better but you need to build deodexed rom and build own patch.
What did you install that triggered that permission request?

from the official topic with the LPY room
From the pics I can see that these are all Samsung and Google apps ,most of them should have access without even asking you ,so I guess it's either a bug or maybe a virus?
Anyway I think you can safely give these apps permission seeing they are all system apps.

as I said ,all of them are system apps ,it's just weird that they should ask for permission .
usually if a system appis asking for permission then it has been modified in some way, like modified google maps .
are you sure it is fully stock? if yes then it could be just a bug maybe?
you could probably solve this by wiping ,but since you are on LPY this has the potential of being lethal to your phone.
my advice is allow them access ,I doubt any harm will come of it.
Yeah those seem to be system app but why on earth LCD test and other apps would want to access your google account?
I suggest flash safe kernel wipe data then re-flash ICS.
Or downgrade to GB wipe data then upgrade to ICS.

Hello,
I solved this problem when I installed an old apk of Samsung Health (version for Galaxy S5) and then update app from Galaxy Apps Store
Before it was running smoothely i have never rooted my phone but now samsung health and some other application says that it cant be opened on rooted device, i have also tried your technique it said root access is required to edit system properties...please help
thanks
working in s7 edge. thanks!
Just to let everyone know you can very easily fix this problem, as long as you have a rooted phone, here is another easier way, if you're getting the error message or Knox and cannot access Samsung health because it could say your device is compromised Etc. this is how you easily can fix it.
Download build prop editor, open app, Grant it root access, once granted scroll down the list until you see
"ro.config.tima" , beside this you will see a number 1, edit the number 1 to 0 and save changes and reboot phone.
BADABING BRO!

You have to reroot your phone and fix with build prop.
Once you trip Knox there's no getting it back. But with root at least you can edit values so apps will work again.

Yes but if you're not rooted you shouldn't have the problem in the first place. It is when the phone is rooted, that many people have the problem with Samsung Health.
Just checked, version is N950USQU1AQI5
Improved stability - Navigation app, Google Maps, Weather Widget
Junk update. No 60fps 4k!!

I updated to oreo with the unlocked firmware on my note 8 so I'm on the non carrier version, I had face unlock until I installed bk package disabler, I had to remove Google and Samsung account and remove sim to give bk permission with adb and reboot with sim back in and setting up Google and Samsung account again, only disabled Samsung OTA updates and face recognition is now missing completely and was working fine before setting up bk package disabler pro, do you think it was from removing accounts or the bk package disabler? Very strange that it was there and working flawlessly before I removed accounts and sim to enable bk and now it's like it is completely gone from settings.

Hello,
I noticed that Samsung removed the "Identify unsaved number" function with the Oreo update.
since the function was based on Hiya I've installed the Hiya app but it's far away from what the inbuilt one was. Samsung's function had definitely more data sources to identify unknown numbers (for example Yelp). maybe too many because I heard it caused conflicts with data protection laws and was therefore removed.
does anyone have an idea how to get this option back? I think installing the Nougat dialer could do the trick, but without root that's probably impossible.
any clues here?
thnx in advance
