New ROM for Orange customers

HTC has released a new ROM for Orange customers.
It can be found on the HTC website.

good find, now if only htc would be so kind as to give a changelog

Could anybody who has downloaded this tell us what the major differences are please. Don't want to be bothered to download it if it tries to fix a problem i haven't got - if it aint broke etc.

Same here, I want to know what changes it will make, No point doing all that hard work for a minor bug that I don't have.

Well I've downloaded and installed the update - I'm one of those "strange" fellows who assumes that an update should just be applied as it will "update" things.
What have I found:
No real differences to anything at all. I did have a bug whereby the browser would start turning itself off randomly (both WiFi and 3G and with 1 or more tabs open & many different sites so no idea what caused it - happened both straight after a reboot and also when been left on for a few days) This no longer seems to be happening.
My main bugbear with it now is that I've found that I can't see all the programs that I used to have on the Store. I can see Twidroid free but not Twidroid Pro (which seeing as I've paid for it I'd rather like to download again!) I also can't see Space Physics - again I can see the lite version but I've paid for the full game and that's not showing anywhere.
I can see other programs that I've previously purchased & able to download (CoPilot, Retro Defence) but it's irritating in the least to not get the full versions of other programs I've paid for already.

I wouldn't worry about that. It sometimes happens when a carrier releases an update. They need to 'validate' it with the big G before it gets access to protected/paid apps...

Thanks for the reply, frankly I haven't come across the bug on my browser, which goes to say, I won't need this update.

I have just installed this and there are no real differences except they have added a 4x4 (i.e. the whole screen) People widget, and increased the size of the thumbnails on the People widget.

Applied this update. Readme did not work. Now my headphone connection autosense is fsuked. HTC still haven't confirmed the changelog.

I am new here and I am Hichjacking this thread, as my problem is in regards to the ROM Update on Orange.
As someone posted in this thread earlier, I do have the same issue that some of my paid apps are no longer available for me. ie Silent time, my backup pro.
I was able to get my MyBackup Pro online, however Silent time pro is not available. Is this also probably because its not approved for the new ROM update yet, although its not nearly 2 weeks old.
I can live without the other ones, but I loved Silent time Pro.
Can anyone help me and shed some light?

[Q] Quickoffice HD 4.0.25 - SAMSUNG Tablet

Our beautiful 10.1v came with this (see title) quickoffice suite preinstalled which seemed to be very nice. Sadly, it isn't (at least for me) as everytime I try to modify an excel doc, or even make a new sheet it crashes on zooming or resizing cells. The strange thing, is it doesn't FC it just kills the document (obviously trashing every modification I made to it) and returns by its own to quickoffice file browser.
Updating it says my version is up to date, but then I noticed that market version is way newer (4.5.15), so I decided to buy it, but as I don't want to root yet I can't uninstall this SAMSUNG Tablet version. so probably i would end up with 2 quickoffice suites installed.. am I correct?
any suggestions to avoid this problem?

I see one of two things happening, either you won't be able to install it due to it already being installed or it will just upgrade the version already there.
Personally, I think the first is more like it.

thanks, finally I did purchase it and installed ok. The result was it ended having both suites installed. Seems that packages are different so it doesnt recognizes it as the same application. Anyway I tried it and had the same problems so I deleted it and asked for refund.
I have already purchased and installed on my desire documents to go, so I decided to give it a try on my 10.1v and it worked very well but it is not honeycomb optimized . Are there any other honeycomb optimized office suites?

[Q] Version Code in "Crashes & ANRs"

Perhaps I'm missing something, but when I look at crash reports in the "Crashes & ANRs" section of Goolge Play for my published app, I can't find reference to the Version Code of the app that reported the crash. Without knowing the BUILD NUMBER I can't determine which set of ProGuard files to use to de-obfuscate the report, nor can I determine if the user had a version prior to when the bug was actually fixed.
All the crash report tells me is the "version" of my app, which is still 1.0, and will stay that way for MANY builds to come. Does this mean Google wants us to make up long version numbers (like 1.00.34) to distinguish one release from another? If so, why bother with the Version Code at all?

Samsung Galaxy Tab A guest mode?!?

Hi, basically the problem is when I go to settings there is no option called "users". when I swipe down there is no user avatar. by the way android lollipop is the software version. I was watching a review on YouTube, there they had the option. but I don't. anyone knows why?

Might be something the carrier or region where you got the tablet doesn't support. No idea why, but there are carriers here that asks the manufacturers to not enable some options, such as the Download Booster on Galaxy phones. Either that, or maybe another updated version of the software enables it. You might look into custom roms based off of less restricted software.

The other way to do it is from the quick settings pull down, touch the profile pic (might be the standard person-head icon)

when I pull it down there is no user avatar (profile pic) nothing at all

What's the Build Number of the software?

Lollipop 5.0.2. The manual says the option of USERS in under the device tab in settings. but I don't have it.

5.0.2 is the android version, not the Build Number of the software.

Issues with "Pre-Launch report" on Google Play Developer Console

I am just about to release a new version of my game - VR Puzzle Room.
Everything was going fine, then yesterday I uploaded a version to google play and the "Pre-Launch report" showed it crashing on 5 out of 6 devices.
I know it works on my device (Galaxy S8) but now I am not sure if my device is just a "lucky one" or if the pre-launch report is broken.
I cant find any other errors that seem to be related to my app, it just exits. This is the "issue" that is reported in the report:

Not very helpful, it looks like a generic test result. I've trawled through the logs and found something suspect though:

To me that looks like the test runner is trying to "explore" my app, and the first thing it is doing is clicking the "exit" button in the Cardboard UI. But that button has been there for ages and this has only just started happening (it was working fine a couple of days ago). The main thing I can think of that might have caused this is that I recently updated Unity to the latest version, including the latest Google VR SDK, so that might have introduced a change that broke this.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Also if anyone is able to test that it runs on their phone that would be really helpful. Google play shows it crashing almost immediately after startup so if it gets further than that you know it "works".
