Hi,
Any suggestion for a stable ROM ?
Thank you all
You are asking what ROM to run in the paranoid android forum section.... What rom do you think we would suggest? Paranoid android of course....
#stayparanoid
Sorry and thanks
Paranoid is by far the best rom I had
Can't live two days on the stock rom (Sony)
Anyone with OPPO find 7 is running Paranoid ROM can tell us how is it and if there are any issues . thanks

I'm using The latest version of PA 4.6 beta on my find 7 QHD as my daily driver and love it.
Haven't noticed any major issues, battery life is really good. Wifi, 3G, and bluetooth all work flawlessly. (I haven't tried LTE because I haven't got it on my mobile plan)
The only issue that I've encountered is that, on a couple of games I have, sometimes they become slow and unresponsive (family guy game and 2014), I didn't have these problems on ColorOS.
PA 4.6 is currently beta so I'm not really concernecd and I think the minor issues will be ironed out in future updates.
Thank you very much
I have tried PA 4.6 Beta 5 today

Had a very bumpy ride with the first installation. I think I forgot to reset to factory settings, so it might be my fault.
Second installation was better. There are certain things I don't love:
Chrome browser runs on windowed version, no matter what setting you try to change.
Battery seems very short. I need to recharge halfway through my day.
I can't get the gestures to work when the screen is off. (double tap works great, nothing else).
Everything else is buttery smooth. Maybe I'm just unlucky with a few glitches here and there.
Chrome issue happens on any ROM with floating mode implemented. Its a google chrome issue. They have fixed it in their latest beta.

I just can advice you to use PA. It's my personal favorite
PA Lollipop where?
I have searched high and low. Where can I find PA 5.0.x for my Find 7?

Error downloading rom
Whenever I try to download the latest paranoid android rom for the find7s (qhd), I get an "error executing updater binary" message. I looked up and saw that you had to install the latest cyanogenmod nightly first, which I did, but I still couldn't get it to work. I first wiped everything (data, dalvik, cache) then I installed the cyano nightly, then I wiped the data, then I installed paranoid android and I still get the error. I am also running the latest twrp recovery (2.8.6.0). Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out

Hey there, proud owners of Redmi Note 3 Pro. Since, there are two cm13 variants, both currently under development, so I decided to start this thread, to compare both variants and help other users to decide which to flash. And, if they mess up or want to revert back or any other problem occurs, help them and guide them through the whole process.
I want other people to participate to and list the pros and cons of both the roms with their respective version name. It will help others to decide better about which rom to flash and all.
WARNING: By flashing the new/updated firmware, you might have trouble going back to miui7 based on 5.1.1. I tried flashing fastboot stable rom, and I was having wifi, no sime, etc issues. And when flashing CM13 again, the issue were resolved. This is because of the firmware change.
For those who are also having no sim/wifi issues on miui7 after flashing fastboot or recovery rom, do not immediately come to confusion that you have lost your imei or efs partition, try going back to CM13 to check whether the issues still exist or not.
ADVICE: Make a complete backup of your miui rom using twrp alka. NOTE: Official twrp will not help you create the backup of every single patition, so please download and flash twrp alka as your recovery. Even if you don't want to make a backup, I ADVICE you to backup atleast efs partition, it may come handy later.
Nope...You can restore the splash image from your previous mm backup to get MI spalsh image. eace:

CM13 by Santhosh M
Build date: 17 - 06 - 2016
1. Minor bluetooth related bugs.
2. Slow gps. But it works.
3. Some force close issues.
4. LED notification settings error. Led are working, only they seems to ignore the manual settings.
5. Other small things i may have not noticed.
There may or may not be camera force close, the patch for it is uploaded right below the downloading link in his thread. Everything thing else seems to be fine. The firmware/radio is from a leaked source and thus a bit unstable and may cause some problems. If it causes problems, flash some other Android M based radio for redmi note 3 pro. Make sure not to flash radio from some other device, you may end up getting bricked or loosing your imei.

Build by banmeifyouwant & thestrix
Build date: 19 - 06 - 2016
Bugs:
1. Wrong bluetooth address and mac address.
2. Some bluetooth services that i may have not noticed.
3. Some force close issues that can be solved by wiping the data/cache of the app or cache from recovery.
The rest seems be good. GPS working. Voice recognition in google app working. No com.android.phone force close. No music force close. If you have some problems, then flash the radio package after flashing the rom.

Another bug in cm ROMs. Music app force closes if u have more than 250+ songs listed in ur music app.
Just tested by me. I had more songs and I was getting FCS. Just to verify, I created .nomedia file in some folders and music player plays well.
Some one needs to fix it. I tested with cm13 by banmelfyouwant and mokee.

I have exactly 589 songs and no fc in music app. If you are having fx, clear cache and dalvik and then try again.

The BanMeIfYouWant build would crash/reboot when I tried to use the gps for navigation.
I switched back to Santhosh's latest and the gps was slow. It wouldn't lock at first, but after 5-10 minutes I was able to connect and haven't had an issue connecting since.
Santhosh's build is more stable in my opinion, so that's what I recommend.

No, 4K recording also working on another CM13 ROM, it's made by TheStrix and you know, he's currently working with our device for the real Official CM13.

Glad to hear. I still can't understand why banmeifyouwant a d santhosh are working seperately for the same goal. Shouldn't they be working together for the official cm13, that way the updates will be made faster.

So, you rom is technically not using the mm bootloader, instead its more like custom one.
And one more thing. Why you and santhosh are working differently on the same rom. Wouldn't it be better to merge both and hence release a more better rom. If you both can work diiferently and create such a rom in a nich of time, then if you work together, you both can create a perfectly stable rom in no time.

So...
I've been using this Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL), but actually I'd want to buy Nexus 5x or 6p (Google Pixel is too expensive so I don't wanna buy it).
Seems boring with the ZenUI because it has a lot of bloatware. I found on Google: how to make AOSP, but I'm still newbie, so I cannot make my own ROM.
If someone could build an AOSP, I will very excited. Thanks for the advance
Sorry for my bad English. :*
You can install lineage or resurrection rom with stock gapps package. Closest you can get to pure aosp and better IMO.
Speaker Problems
Hello Guys,
I'm new here, I don't know too much about programming. I have already used CM/Lineage in some devices and always loved it. I have one 552KL and I installed the LineagoOS today. Unfortunately I have a problem: My speaker does not work properly. Some applications has sound and some do not. EX: WhatsApp, calls and notificatins works, games not, youtube not, music not.... What could I do? Thank all of you for this ROM and for sure I will make donations for this project!!

Hi guys!
Is already have my OP5 since a month and using FreedomOS with Franco Kernel since the 2nd day I got it in my hand.
I am pretty happy in everything it brongs me both things, but I want to ask to people who has another custom ROM (xXx NoLimits, Resurrection Remix, ExperienceOS, etc) / Kernel on its device (I do not know a lot of kernels but I saw Franco and people (and his developer) told me some features and they hat reason is very smooth good and customizable with its own app.
So which Rom do you have? Magisk or SuperSu? Which Kernel is the best for you? :victory:
I want to get your personal opinion and your experience, I hope more people have the questions I did it and here we can help us each other with our opinion about using X rom X kernel and some more features that I can not put it here because I do not know if there are more things (my last Z5 I used mods and tweaks to make better performance but if you have a kernel like France you do not need this).
Thank you very much for your help :fingers-crossed:
I'm using xXx no limits and use the AKT (advanced kernel tweaks or so?) mod.
I don't know about the kernels but the ROM itself is my favorite.
It has an aroma installer (you pick which features you want before installing them) with many options.
You won't need to download gapps, magisk/ supersu and some stuff like xposed separately. It's very convenient.
Everything is smooth.
The stereo mod (using the earpiece as a speaker for music and videos) is something which is weird as it's used for something it wasn't meant to be used but still a very nice addition.
It's basically a faster stock OOS (oxygen OS) in a bundle with some root functionality added.
This shall be it for now. I hope that I could help you. Fell free to ask if you have any questions
I am using pure stock since I got this phone on the 4th of September and I have to say since then I stopped being a flasholic.
PureFusion because I've had the Nexus 6P and Pixel XL before this phone and ran PureNexus on those, and PureFusion is based on that. It's the only ROM that I feel provides just the right amount of features for me (not too much and not too less).
I'm using the stock kernel now because using custom kernels would introduce issues.
I did have the phone randomly reboot on Me 2 times so far but I can't say for sure that it's the ROM that is causing it.
Overall it's my favourite one out of the handful I have tried and I would definitely recommend it!!
Gonna go with stock as well. Stock kernel or Franco. Gotta say, better speed and battery than the other stuff out there. You gotta figure a whole company can do much better in software development than 1 guy or a team of 5 or 6 people.
Pure Fusion here too because its given me an extremely better battery life from the normal 3 hours SOT, i now get roughly 6 . Stock Kernel with the rom because it's just good for me all in all, maybe will try Franco sometime down the road because, i've been along time supporter. Magisk just because I don't need much except YouTube without ads, also can use Snapchat and other apps flawlessly! Good Luck!

Do I just make a clean install or i do a clean install and I install one of the gapps?
I must ask too, if I have unlocked the bootloeader, does that mean I have my mobile encrypted? Can I install Pure Fusion OS without problem?
What I normally do is wipe everything but internal memory, install room along with gapps I use open and it boots up! And you're all good to go !

It doesn't really matter. You can download open gapps or one for the others (forgot the names. Hehe).
You'll have to flash the ROM first and then the gapps file in the recovery. That's it.
But beware. Playing with your phones software doesn't come without risks. Read a lot about what you have to do and preferably try it on a phone to practice before doing it on your normal phone.
It can break your phone and I don't think that you can/ want to buy a new one. I had bricked my first phone a week after getting into root and custom ROMs.
The problems after that have driven me crazy but I was going to buy a new phone anyway.
LPT: If you want to flash something, wait for stable releases as long as you're inexperienced. Wait till others have tried that and then flash it. That way, you'll avoid some of the problems that you would struggle for a long time to fix.
And don't forget this. Keep an eye on the forums to see what problems people are reporting of and how to solve or avoid them in the first place.
Hope I could help

Dear members,
My Nexus 6 is in desperate need of some new life. It's been terribly laggy for the last year, and I can't buy a new phone right now.
I have very little experience with rooting, recoveries, kernels and other jargon words, and I really need your help!
What's the best combination of Kernel and OS at the moment? I was thinking about LineageOS 16 stock Kernel, but would like to be sure. Do I need root access?
Also, can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial to install what I need that can be done on Mac? I know you guys can probably get things done based on your experience and with little information, but I need a step-by-step or I will brick my phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!

Actually ROMs and kernels aren't a mix and match. Use the kernel coming with the ROM or be prepared for funny things to happen.
Lineage has a pretty straightforward step by step guide for installation: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/shamu/install
You don't need root - if you want it you can flash https://mirrorbits.lineageos.org/su/20190709/addonsu-16.0-arm-signed.zip and enable it in the settings.

Depends of your definition of usability. Of cause it's slower then newer devices as shamu was developed in 2014.
But I still use it as secondary device for browsing and watching youtube. Also I am a bit biased as I am the maintainer for shamu on LineageOS. Maybe you should ask other users in the Lineage-16.0 thread.

If you search on Google about Magisk, you can directly go where you can download the zip and you can install it immediately after LineageOS and Google Apps. Then, once you booted the device, from inside the Magisk app, you can install from its internal repository the modules you want to use, every one of them does something you can find useful I think. In the end, I recommend you NFS Injector module to have your device good as a new one in terms of performance. I hope to have everything cleared for you

Hi guys,
I came back here to give some feedback on what I have done.
I followed the instructions on the Lineage wiki link and installed Lineage OS 16. I kept it as simple as possible and didn't do anything besides that. No module, no magisk, no root, no TWRP. Just Lineage. It's not that I didn't want to go further, but I don't know enough about android to do it. Even just installing Lineage was kind of a challenge. It was not a smooth process, but I managed to do it.
In any case, it fews like an entirely new phone now. Lag has been reduced to almost none. It was almost unusable before and know it's actually enjoyable to use. Thank you very much for your help and to everyone that kept support for Shamu alive.
I did run into a few problems so far, but nothing really significant. The flashlight and camera sometimes won't work and need a reboot to come back (thankfully boot time is really quick now). The Netflix app also won't work anymore, but that's expected with no magisk, right?
If I wanted to go back and install magisk and a few modules, can I do that now without having to wipe the phone again? Or would I have to redo the whole process?
Thank you!!

No need to Wipe.
Just reboot to recovery and flash magisk installer ZIP.
Now reboot to system, and you see new Magisk App installed.
Just open it and install any of the Modules you want, just make sure to reboot after every Install/Update/Uninstall of any Module.

If you are using your Nexus 6 as a Daily Driver like Me, I would recommend you to install LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1) which is much more stable and responsive than LineageOS 16 (Android 9.0).
About updates it is fine, because LineageOS 16 is in active development and updates are released regularly, as compared to LineageOS 15.1 which is almost finalized and its updates are released every weeks/months.
About Module:
A module is a mod or a customization for your device which can be installed systemlessly(without modifying your android system files) using Magisk.
For Example: If you want to enhance your audio of the headphone you can install Viper4Android.

I am using it as a daily. For the last few days it's been really good. It was stock before and pretty much unusable. Do you think it's worth redoing the process to put lineage 15.1 on? I am not that confident with these things. I am at that point where I think "I can't believe I've done it and it's working". And if I redo it and screw things up I am gonna be furious I tried to fix what was not broken.

I am not that confident with these things. I am at that point where I think "I can't believe I've done it and it's working". And if I redo it and screw things up I am gonna be furious I tried to fix what was not broken.

I will recommend installing LineageOS 15.1
I have installed this ROM for 2 months and never had any issue, even my battery is also bad but this ROM handles it very well.
I think it will worth installing.
I am using LinagesOS 15.1 with stock gapps and without any mod or Magisk.

My combination Is LineageOS with Magisk and NFS Injector module, i think it's your best bet to eliminate lags without tinkering too much, everything it's literally "install and forget"

Hi,
Coming back to share my experience. Lineage 16 was performing really well, but it got unstable after a few days. I was having 3-4 random reboots per day, mainly when scrolling through pages in multiple apps. The flashlight and camera also wouldn't work quite often and needed restart.
So I decided to take the advice given here and flashed lineage 15.1 (with mindthegaps, no root, no magisk). Performance isn't as good, but stability has been much better. No reboots so far. A few app crashes, but nothing major.
Once again I few like my phone has gotten new life and I will be able to squeeze a few more months out of it.
Thank you for all the replies to this thread. You guys helped a lot!

Is it stable for you? When I had 16 I would have random reboots in the two digits per day.
