Network settings profiler for my Wizard

OK, so the internet settings in WM5 are a real hell to deal with.
Is there some kind of a network profiler (like Mobile NetSwitch for desktop Windows)?
I want to be able to switch between settings. For example, I have a wireless network at home with automatic IP settings. I also have the USB commection that uses a proxy. In the uni I have two wireless networks with different settings. I want to switch between locations with different setting.
How the hell can this be done?
in the start-settings-connections tab you can choose the connections icon, then set up different connections "under add a new modem connection". then select the advanced tab and select the network manually for the connection you then want to use at that time. When you want to use another connection, you have to go to start-settings-connections-connections -advanced again and mannually select the network you want to connect to. Not very easy to do quickly, but the only way I have found to switch networks...

Application to enable/disable proxy settings when wifi?

The thing is when i connect through gprs i have to go through a proxy, but when i connect through wifi, the proxy settings have to be disabled.
I found this program BatteryStatus that has this option "Disable proxy when wifi/cradled".
But I really don't need any other options from this program, so i was wondering if maybe someone knew or could come up with just a tiny app that would do the same and only that?
Thanks a lot in advance!

depends what type of access point he is talking about.
If you are talking about the access point name settings in mobile networks, then of course there is. Did you not notice the settings called proxy in the list when you edit it? you can't really miss it!
if you're talking about Wifi then Ovek's right, you're S.O.L.
It really makes me wonder what the Google programmers do all day, I mean they find the time to give me options about not letting WiFi sleep (nice! well done) then don't give you basic network options such as proxy or various corporate WiFi technologies.
Who is android designed for? Is not designed for students as every collage or uni network ive ever used needs proxy support.
Its not deigned for the business world with its crap email client, lack of proxy support or corporate WiFi tech.
And really let's be honest its not designed for your bog standard user as everything android does lacks a certain amount of grace, fixed a bit by the Hero but that's so bugged even I've wanted to throw it out of a window.
Ovek - agreed. I was gobsmacked by this lack of proxy setting. I thought it might at least support auto proxy settings with WPAD or PAC. I cannot use my Hero on a number of corporate networks because of this.

And that's why it's always been an inexcusable omission from day one. In my eyes anyway (not Googles apparently!).
There might be hope in the future with Donut as it does add better WiFi support, business stuff mostly but it will effect some uni networks that I know of. So if they have added that they *might* have added some proxy stuff, let's just hope they take a page out of Apples book and do proxy settings depening on what Wireless network your attached to.
no there is no way
some one may not want to use a proxy at all
if you want to use proxy for opera u can try this:

EzHero has that built in, you can disable it or enable it through settings...

Dataconnection

Is there a way to ONLY set my dataconnection for MMS, but NOT for everything else? because I pay a lot when it's on.. my HD2 uses the dataconnection for everything, but I only want my WLan for apps. And for MMS data.
yes actually
try this:
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility-nodata/
I havent tested it working on hd2 but I used it on my old omnia and it worked flawlessly.
(you could also just remove the internet settings but not the mms settings, they are stored seperately, but this will remove your ability to connect to the net in the future if you need to.)
great I will try it this evening thanks
edit: won't this stop my entire dataconnection (included mms?)
found sth else: will try this tonight: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=datacontroller+cab
no, nodata allows you to specify which data connection is enabled and which is enabled, mms and internet use different connections so they appear seperately in the list to enable/disable.

Not sure now you make me doubt.

Entering proxy settings to access university internet via WiFi

Hi all. I have been trying for a long time to get the internet to work (on my Samsung Galaxy S II) while being connected to my university's WiFi. My university provides passwords to some of it's access points. I successfully connected to the access point (Student), but the internet didn't not work. Also connected to a second access point, still nothing
My university runs on a proxy network and so certain details need to be entered into the device's browser. The proxy settings for my university's internet are: Address: proxy.xx.yy (second and third set hidden for privacy) and Port: 8080. My friend got his internet working on his iPhone, as there was a screen to add these proxy settings. People have also got the internet to work on their laptops by entering those settings. However I have looked everywhere but can't seem to find the proxy settings screen on my Galaxy S II. Help would be much appreciated.
Add a Wi-Fi network under Wi-Fi settings (not sure which Android version you have as I'm going off of CM 10.1) and there is a checkbox for advanced options then it should be there.

I found those options and got the internet working. Thanks. However only my default internet browser works. Firefox, skype, whatsapp and other apps dont work. What method can I use to rectify this?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
