Mysterious debug message won't go away - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Last night a message popped up on my screen and won't go away. It appears to be a debugging message. If I tap it, it disappears for a couple of seconds then pops back. It survives reboots. Any idea as to what might be happening and how to correct it? Thanks! Please check the screenshot.

I'm guessing it's an error from the time widget you are using.

Thanks. Good call. That was my thought as well, but I removed it and restarted and it persists.

Aha! Eureka! Solved! After quite a bit of observation I've figured out that it's tied to notifications from the SMS app, Textra (which updated a couple of days ago). It seems that it appears when a Textra notification pops up on the notification bar. And it will remain there until the notification is swiped away.

[Q] New owner with strange issue

I bought this phone yesterday new from verizon and after the update was applied this morning OTA I have an issue where everytime I place a call it has a toast pop up telling me that "The called party wants to switch to a video call. Accept?"

I can't find an option or setting anywhere to disable this and it actually pops up the second the call is placed. I have tried googling for help and searching these forums as well.
Any help would be appreciated.
same happens to me, I thought it to be because of in call recording after rooting.... maybe not
I have not experienced that issue, but my phone has been sluggish since the update.
for me it is definitely something to do with the toolkit and call recording. i can restore to stock, be rooted, and not get the message. once i add call recording it comes up. maybe thats the way it is.....

Click to collapse
On my H918 if I use the quick settings on the second screen or basically activate the Bluetooth using the 2nd screen shortcut then that window will not pop up.
As far as I know you would need Xposed and gravity box or something similar to disable it or it would need to be worked into a custom ROM from my understanding.
I sell this phone...
Sorry for the strong delay in the reply!

Toast notifications are getting hidden behind keyboard in stock ROM

In case you don't know, this is a toast notification.

}
I'm using stock ROM v338. I have a bunch of apps that show me toast notifications occasionally during the day. I've noticed that whenever I have the keyboard open, the toast notifications are hidden behind the keyboard. So I'm unable to view the toast notifications when the keyboard is open & totally miss them. I have an old phone running Nougat & can confirm that this isn't the behavior in that, toast notifications are always shown above keyboard in Nougat.
Can anyone else confirm? I'm not sure if this is an Oreo thing or some bug either within the ROM or due to my setup.

[Solved] Notification Preview Stuck on Screen Off

Edited:
Solved by turn off "Ambient Display" in Hovoc Settings.
There's someone's replicated thread but without help: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/help/youtube-notification-screen-off-t3919908
I exactly have the same problem, I called them "Notification Preview".
I want the notifications to be shown while the screen is ON, but they come out automatically while the screen is OFF.

}
Especially when Titanium Backup is running, every time it refreshes the notification (Backup Progress), it shows up.
Note: The notifications preview happens under Screen Off status, so when I press Power Button once, the phone enters Lockscreen.
Please help me, this is extremely annoying...

OP8Pro Magisk - Snapchat acting weird after rooting device?

Hi there,
I have just rooted my OP8Pro using Magisk, and I am facing a weird issue with Snapchat in specific.
Whenever I have the application open, I keep getting a vibration and silent notification on my phone every 3 seconds or so regarding my camera being in use. This is a System UI Privacy Alert notification, which can not be disabled. The notification is also set as not important, which means it should not vibrate the phone, but it does it anyways.
I have attached a image of the notification. This pops up, stays for a few seconds, then goes away for a split second before buzzing back.
I have reinstalled Snapchat and messed with the app permissions, however nothing seems to work.
Any way to disable privacy guard notifications completely with root access, or any other fixes to this problem?
Thank you very much!
