[Noob] Rom Advise neede - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hi all
As in title i need some advice to change rom on my le pro 3.
The point is that I've always had nexus devices (4 and 5) and the latter stopped working. I've loved that plain and simple android so much that i never even bothered to change roms on those devices. So now i bought this Leeco Le pro 3 since I am not willing or better can't afford to spend so much money on those new pixel phones.
And here is the problem: I would like to install a rom as similar as to that "nexus" experience possible. Just plain android with no extra stuff I don't (think) I need. I'd then just download the apps I was previously using from play store.
Do you think there is something out there that could do the job?
Thank you very much

Well we have the Lineage team working on roms, we had a great rom the GTX ones but trolls got the OP pissed, in my opinion the battery on this phones is much better with the stock roms rooted and debloted, i get something like one day and some hours of battery life, I only use twitter, FB and hot spot when i need too, is also connected to BT streaming music when on the road. I tried using the Liniage and slim, and some how battery suffers im not sure why, but eventually those devs will figure it out, I came from the 6P and nugat screw up that phone badly, the UI on this phone gets a little to get used too nut IMO is worth the change.

Give stock rom a try. I also like very clean roms but this stock is really good, just install nova laucher and customize it like the new pixel launcher, it gives you a pretty good clean android experience, with some little tweaks.

Hi Cubanghost and thank you for your answer.
For now I did a backup of whats in the phone as it arrived. I might have found something here and it looks like the closest stock android experience that is available to me. The "grossoshop" version I have is just too confusing to me so I think I will just try the one i linked above and if it is not satisfying I will revert to the original and try to get used to it.

Not a problem i was lost on the IU for about a month since i was so used to my 6P but now i cant tell you the relief i have to move away, also the idea the Engineer had was also a good one i have nova swiping up like the pixel launcher. but i also heard good things about the chinesse rom's and battery been awesome. go for it and welcome to the LeEco family, this phone does not disappoints IMO.

[Q] Help! Setup Wiz Crashes after Factory Reset!

I just rooted my (R2-D2) Droid 2 two days ago using the app z4root (via 4shared). I'm on stock 2.2 (and by that I mean what came on the phone, so it's actually a light Blur 2.2)
Then I wanted to get rid of some of the bloatware, so I downloaded Bloat Freezer (still available on the Market) to do that. After freezing whatever apps I saw fit, I returned to see my homescreen black. I did some research and apparently this stems from "freezing" something to do with MotoBlur. I know for sure that I froze "Files" and "AccountSync", which apparently caused this problem with other people.
Supposedly a factor reset would fix it, but it didn't. So that's why I'm here.
So first I tried a normal reboot. That didn't work. Then I did a factory reset. I got all the way through the Setup Wizard, and then it took me back to the "Touch the Android to Begin" screen instead of closing to the home screen like normal. When I try to go through the Wizard again it crashes after syncing an account. I've tried three or four factory resets and this happens every time.
People had this problem while they were on other ROMs and supposedly flashing back to the original OS (not stock, but "stock" i.e. what Motorola put on the phone before), but I'm not on any other kind of ROM so I don't know if that would help.
Should I flash back to the original? Can I even do that if I haven't flashed an alternative ROM? Should I just try flashing to a different ROM (MIUI or Bugless Beast)? Can you even flash a ROM if you can't access most of the phone (the only things I have access to are my email [when the message icon pops up] and the hard reset menu thing)?
Note: Sorry if this isn't in the right thread, I couldn't figure out where to put malfunction type things. Mods can move it to where ever is appropriate. I also searched both XDA and the entire internet and either no one has this problem in the EXACT way I do (i.e. not on any special ROM) or the thread is extremely, extremely dead. So that's why I made the decision to post a new thread about it. Thanks!
Edit: I re-flashed my phone with RDS Lite, and while the homescreen is back it's extremely, extremely laggy. At first I thought it was broken again until I realized it was just taking so long to respond to my finger swipes. Right now it's trying to download 46 apps in the background, so I'll wait until that's done to try again. But I had faster responses even when everything was all broken and it was trying to install 46+ apps..
Those people were right. Find the .SBF file for your version of the Droid 2 and sbf back to "stock". That should fix you problem.
I'm in the process of RSDLite-ing right now, I wasn't sure if it would help though.. Stay tuned!

I believe so. But it should be relatively easy to reroot.
UGH, IT TOOK AWAY MY R2-D2 BOOT ANIMATION......
Also, I noticed that you have the MIUI ROM. Do you feel like it performs better than stock? Faster? Sometimes I feel like the Blur-lite was a little laggy..

Did you use the file specific to your phone? Either way, you should be able to get it back. Someone ripped out all the stuff from the R2D2 phone back when it came out. It's on the net somewhere.
I love Miui. It definitely performs better than stock and is much faster. I love the polished menu system and the included GB features are great. I especially love how you can customize practically everything. It has also greatly improved my battery life. I've been getting up to 20 hours on my standard extended battery. Good stuff. And if you don't like the iOSuck look of Miui, you can always download a different launcher (like ADW) and use that (like I did). Overall it performs surprisingly well considering it's on a locked phone.
(I've played with CM7 on my Incredible and PE on my now retired OG Droid. Miui definitely performs better.)

Well apparently not.. I'll have to try and find the boot animation again.
And yeah, a lot of people have been saying the stuff about the battery life.. Have you ever tried Bugless Beast? Because that's the other ROM I'm stuck between. So I'm not sure which one is performing better on people's Droids

I haven't used it yet, but I have heard good things. I probably will try it at one point though.
Like others have told me, you're just going to have to try them and see for youself. Different people have different experiences so it is difficult to determine which is better without some kind of experience with them.

Is MIUI all in English now? I know about a year ago there were sill some things in Chinese (like the call button for example). From the pictures they showed on the official site of the Droid 2 port it looked pretty English, but I can't really find much more information on it than that..

ICS: Taboonay vs Lightspeed

Basically just a heads up, with Taboonay, performance wise it was good despite being a stock kernel (that's how much an improvement ICS is over HC) however, the damn thing was eating through my battery. In the course of 12 hrs, my tab was dead... while on standby ???? Checked the battery usage history and nothing stood out. Im thinking my WIFI never turned off even in standby because as i sent and recieved IMs my IM app on the tab was chiming as well while i was on the desktop.
Switched to Lightspeed, significantly better, 1 hr use per day over 2 days still on 62% battery. Dunno if it was an app or the IM app for sure. Overall, its a much cleaner, slicker rom, however the OOB exp is disabled so if you were hoping to run the setup wizard, put in your Google account and just have it pull in all your apps and settings automatically, sorry, no beans, you have to manually do all of that by hand which is annoying.
Other than that, Lightspeed ICS is a huge WIN!!
If the ICS Lightspeed Dev runs across this post, please re enable the OOB for ICS so i can just pop in my G account and have it set it up for me. Tks all!
----------------------
PS I did install ICS Flexreaper and Icylicious and they ran fine but after 5 mins tapping around i didn't like how they looked. It looked like a 5 year old customised them and the "eye candy" was atrocious :S
No offense to the devs, they just didn't suit my taste. I actually like the default Holo UI in ICS and I also did in HC (preferred the old font from HC too, but Roboto is good too)
To those (clarification... other devs out there, my bad) devs, please take some time and seriously consider you choice of apps and themes please!!
Thanks for all your hard work, it is most highly appreciated.

Only thing changed in flexreaper is soft touch (home, back, menu )buttons with mirror effect.
The ring you can flash to stock look.
Yes you have a right of your own opinion . So do I.
I like that you piss on me and then say "don't be offended blablablabla".
About battery life, if you would be as smart that you think you are, you would know it takes a few full recharges before battery settles. If that doesn't work wiping battery stats will make a big difference.
So let me explain like a 5 year old ,
You big man go to cwm ( clockwork mod) ,blablablabla.....
You want stock icons, you open systemUI.apk with blablabala.
You should be able do make full rom now.
But please big man don't be offended we do this for users like you.
A nice pm with question to have stock buttons would have been more respectfully.
But I don't expect that from a 3 year old , my little boy of 2 got more sense and respect then you.

Man...that statement right there is garbage to me...
The generation of entitlement.
Xda provides a free forum to use. Devs put in may many many hours and allow us to use their roms for free... Tell me who gave him the right to come on here call some else's work atrocious?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
I didn't use titanium. I have all my files on a external SD card. All i ever have to do with a Droid reinstall is app installs and the OOBE handled that for me before quite nicely.
I said the EYECANDY was atrocious. Not the whole rom...
Wrap ur head around it. Its like you built a car and i said i didnt like the colour you painted it in. I have every right to comment on what i think of their customisations especially if its true. I like the under the hood work and i pointed out where taboonay needs some work, but what i didnt like i said.
I did my fair share of customisation and skins back in the XP days and got pretty heavily criticised myself. I stopped skinning with Vista and 7 because to me the UI was "good enough". The same with ICS. The UI is good enough so i PREFER roms with few UI customisations. That doesnt mean i think they're bad.
Have you seen the collective's ROM? Its gorgeous!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439351
But that's just MY OPINION. Others may or may not share it. Just swallow it and move on.
If you have a problem with that then go take a time out and come back when ur ready to act like a grown up instead of a little kid who hates being criticised and judged.
Tried the battery wipe with taboonay, didn't work.
Right after Lightspeed, it did not give any problems at all.
The mirrored buttons was the thing i hated the most on civatoflexreaper. and prbably the only thing, that said i didn't know how to change it and am reaching a point in my life where i'm tired of messing with stuff. I just wanted a clean working ICS ROM.
I was making a general comment to the devs as a whole, particularly the ones who go nuts when using every effect in photoshop on every button they can find.
I did take the time to say thanks for all the hard work and that i appreciated it and I didnt spend too much time in your ROMs so people knew, "hey my statements are pretty general and maybe they should look for themselves before making a final decision"
All i criticized was the theming, don't take it personally. Quite frankly i even hate Acer's stupid acer ring customisation. After about 5 minutes i realised that it added nothing to my experience and was totally pointless. I even looked into removing it from your rom but was so tired i just looked for another ROM.
And i quote "No offense to the devs, they just didn't suit my taste"
I'm sorry but when i see something ugly i say it and i say it nicely. People worse than me would do the same thing and the word atrocious would be the least troublesome word in their vocabulary.
I'm sorry if i offended but that was not my intention.
If i continue to offend in future, i simply will not mention your work at all. Congrats on the kid btw.
I don't mind negative comments brought respectfully.
Some thing you need to learn if you ask me, again my opinion.
If some one speaks his mind the way you do , free and with no tact you need to understand that there will be a response .
I hate this about internet forums, people get away with every attitude.
Let me say it this way, if you where standing in front of me and my car got a really ugly paint job in your eyes you wouldn't say it was done by a 5 year old .
Take my word for it, I was born and raised the old way.
Respect and honour comes first....... you will see m8 if you have kids if you don't have them already you would love it when they are respectfully .
Again a simple question , he civ, I don't like the mirror effect could you upload stock look.
That would have been enough.
That was all I had to say about it , do with what you want ........
Fair enough i can respect that.
I don't usually contact modders, bad past exp from way back. I leave my comments and walk away, I don't make a habit of making requests and asking people to change things. Mainly because they never do.
I use as much tact as i can, believe me i do, however im a fairly harsh case. That said i can appreciate hard work. I was brought up the old way too. I may be a child of the 90's but i grew up with an old school family. Even thou, I've had to be harsh to get by and that, unfortunately, comes through, even on text.
I speak my mind and I've grown accustomed to dealing with the fallout single handed. But if I'm wrong i will say I'm wrong.
I know what you mean about the kids. Respect is a two way street. I deal with kids way too often, I know. I'm a harsh, but fair person.
Peace.
I tried Flexreaper and agree with you on how it look. Now I'm on Tabooney but the battery life is as good as Lightspeed. Tabooney is the best ICS ROM, at least for me.
Well I say this with respect but no custom ICS ROM I have flashed has been good to my battery as far as drain is concerned and I turn off everything but the Wifi.
Even in airplane mode the battery drains by 5% within 1 hour... I never had such issues with the custom Honey Comb ROMs.
I guess the custom ROMs are based from the stock leaks so I'm not blaming anybody or trying to make anybody look bad, just saying it as it is.

Might be another issue, I use taboonay and with wifi set to sleep when screen is off and will get 2 1/2 to 3 days.

The battery is worse than HC all round for true, but I'm guessing it might be due to non-final drivers and packages. Once the final acer release is out, it might be a different story. For not the battery is good enough for me 3 - 4 days with minimal use and im good.
Or it could get worse...there's nothing to say Acer will fix any problems. Just need a decent kernel.

Ah , well I talked to veer in pm and he is OK,
Let me put it this way , if we all had the same taste there was only need for one rom.
Just one comment about flex reaper and people still saying it looks not good.
Did you try scrolling down a little to the mod part and flash full stock ICS look, if you have a little read skill you can see you can bring flexreaper to full stock ics look with no blue buttons or battery %.
I think reading is harder for some then just sitting at there pc and post some crap
And that is maybe all about intelligence and not taste.
The option is there you just need to see it.
How about an current update?
This thread's comments are really old.
When the comparrisions were made I think that was when LightSpeed was a 4.4 or less and Flexreaper was at about R12 or less.
Since then Flexreaper has made a lot of updates and Lightspeed has made a few too.
I never tried Tabooney so I don't know where that is at, but it's probably been updated too.
I tried Flexreaper and Lightspeed back a few versions ago.
I liked Flexreaper over Lightspeed. I like all the extra work that has gone into the different Flexreaper looks you can chose from. Lightspeed was just too bare bones for me. But you may like that.
I haven't yet gone to the ICS kernel so I'm starting to fall behind in the Flexreaper updates. Civato is a real busy guy and I just can't keep up with him. Keep up the good work.
Any updates comparing the latest versions of the top ICS versions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Help me find the right ROM for me

I have Droid X, running stock .621, rooted.
I just got my wife an HTC One S, running ICS and I'm jealous.
Right now, I'm just waiting out the days until Verizon offers something worth using my upgrade on. Looks like that's still going to be at least a couple of months away.
In the meantime, I'd like to breathe some fresh life into my DX, but I don't want something buggy.
I need working GPS, Camera (video would be nice too), phone functions. I'd like to be able to install Swype. I'd like flash to work. Working bluetooth would would be nice. Maybe I could live without some stuff, but at least I'd like to know what I'd be getting into before I install something.
I don't care about (or even really want) themes, different fonts, additional lock screens, funky notification bar icons or anything like that. I'd be perfectly happy with stock ICS, if it wasn't buggy.
Does something like that even exist or because there's no official ICS for the DX, there are always going to be some major bugs/issues?
If there's something worth trying, I'll be happy to give it a go. I understand that I'll have to do a data wipe, what's the best way to restore my data after a ROM update? Do I just back up user apps and user app data with Titanium before the update and then just restore all of that after or is there a better/safer/easier way to migrate ROMs?
I do already have CWM installed, so, I think, I just have to boot up, get into the CWM menu and do the data/cache wipe and then load the ROM zip file to upgrade ROM, right? At least that's the general directions? Once I figure out exactly which ROM, if any, I'll ask for further help so that I don't screw it up.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Got some help in another forum last night and wound up installing Gummy ICS. I really screwed up the process and wound up having to SBF, but it was a good learning experience.
I'm truly stunned as to how much more responsive the phone is as compared to GB Stock. We'll see if it stays that way, but, right now, I'm thrilled.
Few little annoyances here and there, but my goal really was just to add a little live to an aging phone and give me a refreshed toy to hold me over until an acceptable upgrade phone becomes available.

Since I'm in the exact same situation as you regarding ROM choice, can you tell me if you are happy with Gummy ICS?

Not really. ICS on the Droid X was just way too buggy for me. In addition to all of the non-working things that people will tell you, I had other issues. My browsing was very slow on some sites with javascript on. I suspect due to the lack of hardware acceleration on ICS. Also, my radio.com app would cut the feed off after about 2 minutes of audio.
After Gummy, I had also tried AOKP. Both are nearly identical.
I wound up with VXR (Vortex Reloaded) using the ICSish them. Very, very happy with it.
Not as fast as the ICS ROMS (those ICS ROMS just flew), but everything works 100% perfectly and it still did clear up some of the major issues I was having with stock (CPU pegging at 100% for long periods, dialer getting hung up not allowing me to make calls).
With the ICSish theme, it looks like I'm on ICS even.
The DX and ICS weren't made for each other (not unless they release ICS drivers ever). People who tinker a lot might just live with the bugs because it's fun and it sure is fast, but it wasn't for me.

[Q] I seek help and guidance

Hello everybody,
I am terribly sorry to do this to you, but I'm writing this on a very crappy tablet as my PC has run into quite a number of problems. That makes it very hard for me to dig for the info and my phone should arrive tomorrow. Anyway, now that I have somewhat justified this mischief of mine, I would like to ask you, the G2 people, a few questions. As I stated earlier, I ordered a G2 and I would like to root it and slap a good AOSP/Stock Android/AOKP/Nexus-ish ROM on it as quickly as possible. I have to do this over a friends PC, so I should tell him which files to download in order to make his life easier. Now, let's get to the questions. I live in Croatia (which is a part of the EU) so will I get the d802 variant of the phone? Which ROM would be most suitable for my needs, which are GTA San Andreas (when it comes out, trading a kidney for an early release), listening to music, a stock android experience and good battery life? The camera could come in handy because of all the holiday events taking place in the near future, but good camera quality isn't that much of a factor. Again, I am very sorry for asking these questions. If I had a normal PC, I would have searched for the answers myself, but I am desperate here. I'm going on a trip to visit my friend soon and I'd love to go there without the LG software and also without my phone getting stuck in bootloops or with bad battery life.
Thanks in advance!
Hi!
There's two paths:
Modding the stock rom
Benefits
Stable, fast
Excellent camera and audio quality
Bug free
Cons
Takes some modding in order to get it the way you like, if you like AOSP
You don't get the quick pulldown live tiles function from AOSP no matter what you do..
4.2.2
Recommended mods:
ROM and mods
StockROM from g.lewarne as a basis is a good choice
iOS7 navbar, looks just really nice in general
iOS7 icon pack 'Ios7 Flat' (dig around a bit for it) in conjunction with Unicon - an Xposed module (on Play Store) for nicer icons. Yuo can also use other icon packs of course. I say this because LGHome is recommended instead of ie. Nova Launcher, it's just smoother and nicer on the G2.
xdabebb camera mod for even better camera quality (the original app has its flaws)
Volume increase mod, the sound on stock is a bit low
V4A Viper4Android for even better sound
Freeze any unneccecary LG bloat through Titanium Backup (there's no need deleting them as the space isn't available anyway
iFont - changed system font to Helvetiva Neue, if you want the KitKat look you can change it to a light version of Roboto.
AOSP rom:
I've heard that Vanir rom is the smoothest atm
Pros:
4.4.x
AOSP apps
Lightweight
Cons
Unoptimized kernels
Not better battery time or performance
Feels rough around the edges
The implementation of things like the LED and 'knock off' and 'knock on' functions are not very good (you will learn to love them!)
audio quality is very bad, aosp camera also. there is a port of the LGcamera.apk, but it is very buggy unfortunately. Will make you upset very fast!
Thank you, you have been very helpful! I just might stick with stock for a while, at least to the end of the holidays.

Good luck with that, my preferred choice is stock, even coming from a Nexus 4, and being very design-concious

I couldn't resist, I simply had to flash stock Android. OmniROM first boot happening as I'm typing this.

Please write some opinions on the camera quality of OmniROM. I'm a new user as well, still on stock though and I'm curious as to how the camera quality is in OmniROM.
Pozzz.

I've spent quite much time with many ROMs and the best I find in CyanogenMod 11. I get 0% battery loss over the night. I get the latest software with best features of CM. I get above 31,000 Antutu benchmarks on this ROM and GTA San Andreas works flawlessly! Don't forget to use the latest TWRP 2.6.3.4 and you're good to go with this amazing phone. You can even get the quick remote and the LG camera apk on CyanogenMod. Good luck!

Slimkat doesn't have many issues... its very nice small and stable as well. instead of knock off use the navbar ring to set lock screen on a vertical swipe knock off problem solved until it is fully implemented. knock on works perfect. Great KITKAT rom.
stockmod rom is EXCELLENT no other way to describe it - my only issue has been audio quality when playing on my stereo through jack is very crackly...

My M8 Experience So Far

Bit of background....
Was never much a fan of android and had just about every iphone from day dot right up until the iphone 5.
I'd Jailbroke all the way through with each device, a lot of tweaks, modding etc.
Started to get very bored of the whole iphone thing but ended up losing it anyway (left it on a train)
That's what made me think, why not try something different? So claimed on my insurance and went for a Galaxy S3.
NEVER MISSED MY IPHONE ONCE. How android has improved over the years.
Loved the functionality of the S3, although not the build so much. Had it rooted with CM, gravity box, adaway and that was me happy.
Was very excited to wait for the M8 and upgraded as soon as it came out, wasn't disappointed, LOVE IT!
Fantastic build quality, great looks, great spec. Could hardly fault it anywhere.
Decided to jump in and root it to get some of my favourite things.... That's where my disappointment began
Unlike the Samsung, everything seems really difficult to achieve, some things impossible.
Unlocking the boot loader is a fairly long process but it was fairly straight forward... Job done
Rooting, fairly straight forward... Job done
HERES WHERE THE NOT SO FUN PARTS STARTS...
Adaway, kinda works but not. Keep having problems with it being disabled on boot up and not being able to copy host files
From my research it seems to be a problem with s-off not being active although I'm not sure?
Tried the s-off process and at the end was told it won't work on my device, no one seems to know exactly why?
Another app I wanted was gsam battery, again... Kinda works but not. Standard stats work but more advanced won't.
Tried the root companion, can't get that to work at all.
Something else I really wanted was gravity box through xposed. That won't work with sense.
In order to get that I believe I have to flash another rom that dos'nt have sense, think that only leaves the google play edition rom?
That I believe also loses me blinkfeed and ultra power saver which are both pretty good.
Not sure if I need s-off for that, if I do I can't get it anyway
May main reason for root was for gravity box and adaway, one of which I kinda have and one I don't have at all.
So overall, very disappointed now
Just thought I'd share my experience as it might help others decide on purchase choices.
Also if anyone has any tips to get around my issues I'd really appreciate it
its for those reasons i now leave my phones stock. i used to customise my windows phones to get them to work but since switching to android i just use them and update the stock software when they become available. i also have an m8 and i have only installed gsam, chrome and epson printer apps. that is all i have needed so far. i seem to be able to do everything i need to do without any more apps installed. i had a htc one x previous and sensation before that and had so much stuff on them that they were litterely full of apps. i will probably end up adding heaps of apps as time goes on but the stock setup on the m8 is very powerful and capable (not to mention fast). i would recommend just installing the stock rom back and use it for a while. is there really any advantage to rooting these anyway.

Xposed framework would be a huge advantage to me to get rid of annoying things, some small some not so small.
Even the volume warning really annoys me, there's no way to disable it without xposed working
Also on my s3 I moved the close all apps button to bottom left, much easier for me being a lefty
Hi, ads can be blocked through modified hosts file (you can search how to do that). Have you tried a custom ROM with root already done. I use Venom and have always used adaway, both s-on and s-off with no issues.

Sorry but i dont understand what problems you actually have or what you done/expect from your phone
Adaway and GSAM battery stats works perfectly on all custom roms for M8 without issues.
And roms like our Viper ONE M8 provides endless customization and tweaking options, can you tell me what can you do with that gravity that you cant in viper rom?
Gravity Box wouldn't work on a Sense based rom anyways. I think the main source of your issues is the lack of research (user error).

What parts don't? I haven't gone incredibly far into GB, but the NavBar tweaks worked for me and I'm on Viper, a Sense-based Rom.

I've been looking at viper actually, considering flashing tonight
I mainly wanted to move the close all apps button to the bottom left rather than top right
Stop the volume warning popping up when increasing volume
Have the pull down go straight into settings rather then having to use 2 fingers
I had all that through gravity box on my s3.
I'm guessing they won't all be on viper but as viper isn't sense gravity box should work anyway, is that right?

First off: Sense isn't TouchWiz. All features of GravityBox which work on TouchWiz or AOSP wont always work on Sense.
Plus, Sense 6.0 is still VERY fresh and the devs of GB and similar are still looking into what can be done on Sense and what not.
Viper is already heavily customizable and may already feature most of the things you want. Then there is always GPE which replaces Sense with Vanilla Android most GravityBox features will work with - Tho you need to know that some exclusive features like a couple of camera things, dot view etc wont work as extensive as on Sense anymore.
Its all a matter of what you really need and what you really wanna do. I for one prefer to stick to Sense which is mostly stock (InsertCoin) with some customizable settings - keeps the system cleaner and snappier IMO.
You decide :good:

Many thanks for the response, I will have a look into the different roms more over the weekend
I guess I was too naive, only on my 2nd ever android phone and that's from a hell of a lot of phones I've owned in the past
I guess I was thinking along the lines of a one android fits all but that's quite clearly not the case, there are lots of differences between one android phone to another

Hehe well yeah, every Android phone can be quite different to each other. Its with the hardware already. On the iDevices, its all streamlined and almost everything will work on the different iPhones. Its convenient, but nothing for me - I am a modder and toy around alot, and thats where Android kicks in.
Some things on Android can be annoying, since there are much more differences in Hardware and Software among all the devices running Android, but it actually can be quite interesting to see what all the talented Android Developers come up with.
I hope you find what you are looking for. The M8 is a hell of a great device and dispite of being so new, alot of customizations are already possible.
