Nobody in his right mind will be flashing a CM13.1 ROM when stable Nougat ROMs with Official support from our beloved dev, dev_harsh1998, are available.
Coming to your question, yeah you can flash the latest arm gapps 6.0 apps. I didn't get the next part of updating to b.3.3.

I would take a look at the ROM. Thanks.
Regarding the gapps question, the developer has asked to flash gapps micro, but I want to flash gapps stock, which I want to know if there will be any problems.
By the b3.3 part, I mean that the post says that the ROM is in build 3.3 update 4, but the download file has a UNOFFICIAL in the filename
Edit: I forgot to mention that I want to stick with marshmallow because of xposed framework support.

Just wondering if this was the ROM
Mokeee 7.1.1 Ota update one.
The status says nightly so does that mean ROM has bugs? Cam I use it as daily driver?

Mokee 7.1.1 is Nougat based and since you want to stick with Marshmallow for Xposed, then RR by mshoiab or MIUI8 from miui.su (5.1.1) can be your friend.
Nightly, means the small updates are pushed every day (but now IDK why they are being pushed in a week for some devices), so the nightlies are pretty stable for daily use but some experimental feature might cause some FC or some other issue. The stable builds include these new features once they are completely stable. Anyways, there is nothing in the nightly tag that you need to stay away from it.
Secondly, CM13 by ED300 has not been updated for a long time now, afaik. And it has UNOFFICIAL tag because its just that ED300 had ported CM13 from some other device to our Lenovo A6000.
For a ROM to have OFFICIAL tag, the developer needs to build the ROM from source and provide regular updates in a week or even in less days sometimes and has to stick to the particular guidelines as per the developer team. Like in LineageOS, the dev can't include a hack or work-around to some bug in the ROM. In Redmi Note 3, while there's a mod present to fix the flashlight tile issue, but the dev himself couldn't include it in the ROM as per LineagOS guidelines. Every developer community, for e.g., LineageOS (fromer CM team), RR, DU, OmniRom, Slim, AICP, MOKEE, AOSCP, AOSP Extended, Heaxgon OS, Nitrogen OS,......., has there fixed guidelines. Or you can just download a custom ROM, modify it and upload it for everyone, just once; This is called UNOFFICIAL rom.

I assume you are new to the S5 forum?
The CM13 thread (with a bit of scrolling, or even better using google) is in the unified development section. Please do take time to read carefully (a bit of search required) so that you choose the latest unofficial by haggertk as CM13 development is inactive.
Resurrection remix is a good rom
I cannot find aswell that amazing cm13 klte rom that everybody Talks about...
And i know how to use google!
Ive tried the lineage 13 and it was very bad... Random restart and stuff
In my opinion the best rom its Phoenix 15 rom
Cant go wrong with that rom!

I'm on the latest 6.0.1 Resurrection (Nougat doesn't seem to be a good choice for daily driver for me (I need the camera))... I did not find anything on it, but Ambient Display doesn't seem to work. Do you know a release that has it working?

The nougat release is fine. There's a kernel you flash that fixes the camera reboot issue called smart pack kernel klte lite, I installed that and the phone stopped resettng. Crdroid I was really enjoying also, its very fast and smooth
@godkingofcanada
The latest LineageOS and RR builds have camera working like normal again. Previous builds had this issue, some ROMs that haven't been updated with the latest fixes will still have this issue though.

I love rr. It's my go to Rom
My first rom was phoenix 15 and I liked very much , than switch to skiesrom coz it has amazing features and it is as stable as phoenix 15
But both roms after a couple of months became very laggy
Im trying now the Ressurection Remix 5.8.5 and now I can tell you its the best rom ever with amazing customazation,
Its android 7.1 and way more stable then android 6 or touchwiz
Its the best rom by far!

Quick Question

Hello ppl.
Until now we have some amazing custom roms.
My question is:
What do you prefer?
Until now we have aokp, slim7, viperos, lineageos and xenonhd.
For sure we can use one device tree for all custom roms. We only need to add an slim.mk, viper.mk, xenonhd.mk and such stuff to the device tree's to get a working rom at all.
I found xenonhd yesterday and i thought that viperos is my final rom. But that was finally wrong.
With xenonhd i have full root, full working equalizer for music and such stuff.
So this one is my favourite for now.

Lineage os is my favorite, with a close second of viper os, but I'm not familiar with xenonhd. What is that? Is it nougat?
(Sorry for quoting you Kraze I didn't mean to)
where is the xenonhd ROM link? until now I prefer Lineage.

Lineage is usually a base for other ROMs , so it would be nice if it got more focus to optimise it
, also many of the phone's major issues (Camera / Performance ) Can use improvements
After trying all ROMs other than xenonhd you mention. I have settled on Slim 7. It works good enough and I do not need the extra features with other ROMs. Plus you also get more storage space which I keep running out of.
Slim7 is my favorite
i would prefer pure AOSP

you should update properly your github and sources, even vendors.
so we can use one for all people./rom and we will make better device tree.
My favourite rom is LineageOS. But I prefer Slim7 or ViperOS too. Other roms have bad performance and toooo many useless customization. I think you should update 5.1/6.0 custom roms. CM for example. Now I still on Lineage because this rom is more stable and smooth.
an update to cm12.1 would also be great as it has some issues also like:
- no option to prevent the phone from waking up in your pocket when using double tap to wake
- cannot connect to camera problem happening sometimes
- unable to change lock screen wallpaper
Those are some quality of life updates fixes to the CM12.1 rom that would make it even better while we wait for the nougat roms to be completely fixed.
But the development of the Oreo version at what point is it? Is anyone occupying it?
lineageos
lineageos 13, stable cm12.1 or cm13 or Miui prefer, can you port?

Best Oreo ROM and kernel ?

There are many Oreo ROMs but which you guys this is the best ? Also suggest them and the kernel you're using for next battery life....
Stock feel with pixel accents is the first priority
Resurrection Remix 6.0.0 [8.1.0] + Magisk 15.3 with stock kernel (I can't seem to flash a kernel on my OnePlus 5 because when I do it bootloops) is what I'm using as a daily driver (it's very stable and customizable). If you can flash a kernel, I was always happy with Elemental X on my LG Nexus 5 (which died unfortunately, power button broke so bootloops all the time).
Beware, you need to upgrade your firmware if you are coming from Nougat. And you need to flash the unofficial 8.1 opengapps (opengapps doesn't support android 8.1 as of yet). You find the links and instructions on the Resurrection Remix ROM page.
Edit : Also make sure that you have the latest TWRP (3.2.1-0). TWRP 3.1.1-0 may not support all if any Oreo ROMS.

Custom rom(Stable ) for Z00L

I need a stable custom rom(nougat/oreo) for my ze550kl aka Z00L. i already used some updated roms. now i need to use a stable version.
(e.g. i already used [8.1.0_r30][OFFICIAL] AospExtended ROM V5.6 [DUI] [Z00L], but if there is a old stable nougat AOSP rom i need to use that now. sugg about other roms(lineage, viper, Dirty Unicorns etc) is appreciable.
thanks everyone.
You can use LineageOS-14.1, in case you want stability as well as continuous updates.

There's no Oreo custom ROM stable at moment, if you really want to use custom ROM i would recommend Nougat ROMs, especially the Official Lineage 14.1. Alias, even Lineage and ROMs based on lineage suffer from random reboot(And thats why after using custom ROM for more than a year on my Athene i started using Stock again, where everything works well and no random reboot)

Resurrection remix 5.8.5 seems great. No random reboots. Been using it for almost 1.5 years now.
Nougat ROMs have no reboots and hardly any minor bugs. Orero ROMs do have some bugs but are 90% stable which is due to the old baseband and blobs of the device. Hopefully, once official Oreo update is out (or even soak test is out), it should fix the remaining 10% problems.
I tried
RR (Oreo)
Lineage OS (Oreo)
Havoc OS (Oreo)
And in my experience the "most stable" is by far Havoc, righ now is what Im using even when the Dev just droped the project
Im waiting for RR to improve and will be definitly looking for it
