Friends,
I have a N9005 and some days ago, I saw that when I put it to charge, the red led didn´t turn on. The same when the batery was low.
In hardware test only the blue led works..
Do you thik this is a hardware fail or it can be a software glitch ?
I have root and custom rom (arya 2.1 marsmellow) with lss 3.9 kernel, but this failure didn´t happen after flash anything new.
Thanks
Flash stock rom and test .

By your answer I think that my english isn´t very good kkk
I try to say that the problem with the LED didn´t happen SEVERAL times after a flash custom ROM/Kernel, but that I flash ROM/kernel later in January, and the problem begins only 1 or 2 week ago..
OK, this not exclude the problem be related with ROM, but, if there is a low level hardware test that can be done with LEDs to eliminate a hardware problem, I think is better to try this before have to flash old ROM and have the conclusion that this didn´t solve the problem..
As I said, I use the phone hardware test *#0*# and the blue color works. But I don´t know if this test is realy low level or can have some influence of ROM/kernel.
Thanks

You don't HAVE to re-flash everything again. Create a backup with nandroid, factory reset, flash stock and then test. If it is a software glitch, you will know and will have to make a decision on if you want to keep your ROM. If it is a hardware malfunction, you can go back and restore your nandroid backup without any harm but you will know for sure that it is hardware related and not software.

Problems might be solved by wiping the original rom and install MoDaCo's 1.5 one.
I have been with these problems for days and after install 1.5 rom from MoDaco, everything goes fine again.
The fact proves they are not hardware faults.
They are almighty system BUGS!!!

no way I'm invalidating my warranty by messing around with different roms... even if it is software fault, it should be repaired by manufacturer rather then users themselves...

Since your warranty has been invalidated, why not try this customised rom to get everything back again?

I'm offering an alternative to those who are unable to get warranties or relunctant to wait for a new but probably another unreliable phone set.
You may ignore this if you are confident to get a new phone without extra cost.
Seen as there is meant to be an official update coming from HTC sometime in the near future I'm going to hang around for that, if one fails to materialise then I'll start using one of the custom ROMs.
Having said that, everything currently works on my Hero. And so it should, it's only 5 days old.

If you can reproduce the fault by going back to the stock state (and hopefully get the LED/Headjack faults again) you have proved that there is a software bug in the phone.
i never had any doubt it is a software thing when a simple app, Toggle Headset, bypasses the 3.5mm jack problem, and that problem is always present and simultaneous with the LED problem :/
you don't fix motherboard problems with a widget, so it obviously isn't a motherboard problem :/

If the problem is reproducable by flashing the Hero back to the original ROM and waiting a couple of days får the problem to reappear it's 100% confimed. But so far this thread is my best hope that HTC really knows of the problem since [email protected] apperantly "fixed" it...

Problems? I've installed 4 different versions and 3 radios now, no issues at all! Its usually people who don't follow instructions who have the issues.
Official is available on MoDaCo's website, you can try that.
As for warranty, make a nandroid backup and you can go back to stock and re-do recovery partition easily.
Comfirmed. Updating to latest Version fixed the issue. I just restored a old nandroid backup and problem is gone... Weird, as i was expecting it to be there..will now flash back to latest version... still unsure if i should go about getting my phone replaced...
I sent my hero back to HTC who MAKE the phone and they replaced the mainboard
IF they don't know who does ? why doesnt a hard reset fix it?

THIS IS JUST A THEORY!!! I REPEAT THAT IT'S JUST A THEORY!!!
I have a friend who has a theory why a hardreset doesn't fix it:
It's because HTC shipped the phones with a factory configured image wich might have differed from the ROM mage flashed to to phone in the first place. When all of us had to do our first hard reset the ORIGINAL ROM image replaced the factory configured image which apperantly contained software to poll the headphone jack to see if the user put a jack in there. That software DIDN'T exist in the flashed ROM image.
THE ABOVE IS JUST A THEORY!!!

SO why did it work at first and what has the LEDS go to do with it? i reset my phone twice and it all worked fine it was a week or so later that it went wrong if it worked why did it stop?
dont worry about invalidating ur warranty, just make sure you do a nandroid backup before you flash , any issues or need to go bak to stockrom just do a restore!!

If you make a nandroid backup your warranty will not be invalidated once you restore it. Get Your facts right.
Flashed almost every version of MODACO and no problems whatsoever.
What is the problem with the 3.5mm jack?
Does anyone know whether a ...ehr ... iPhone headpiece ... ehr ... works there?
Hi guys... i have a serious problem. Soft touch button is always on, although the phone is off. I supposed that was a problem of cm9 kernel. But now I have flashed cm7.2 with cm7 kernel but the problem persists ... the level of the button light was very low... but they are on...

I need some help
Give a try to CM7.1 that is stable... if it doesn't have this bug you may be certain that is a rom related problem... in last case this can be edited in build.props... i believe that you could disable from there, besides i don't think that is a good solution...
I have this problem with some build/nightly someday, but could not remember what one... changing rom solved...
Thank you so much. But the strange thing us that now I have flashed the froyo Nordic sbf. And the problem persist. The problem is that I have to pull out the battery everytime I shut down the phone. However I will try cm 7.1.... thanks
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
hum... them it was two diferent problems.... i believe that flashing nordic that is a stock sbf should solve both problems... but if they persist then this are beyond my simple knowledges...
good luck indeed!
Always on means always responds to presses or just the light is always on?
On... minimum level but on.....

Its really weird try flashing some other sbf for your phone and see else it might be a hardware issue.
I have exactly the same problem for months. I can't remember what caused it but it has remained so even after flashing back to official rom.
I consulted a local customer service center and they said this was a hardware issue. The motherboard has to be replaced to solve it.
Ok thank you,,, as i expect is an hardware issue,,, so i have to send away my defy to replace motherbord,,, wow, i'm very happy-.-

Just wanted to say that I got the same problem on Defy+ since rooting
(DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed) and installing Epsis CM9.
Don´t see why this should be hardware-related.
Update: fixed after different cm9 flash and cache clean

I though it was hardware related as even if I turn it off, remove the battery, when I just put it in the soft buttons glow but as I didn't notice how it was before the first flash I can't tell for sure but after reading this I still have a hope.
I am having this problem with my Defy. Currently I have CyanogenMod v9-20121116-Nightly-jordan and I am still suffering the problem although I have tried several flashs. Could you please explain how did you solve it?
Thank you very much!!

Hello every one ...I got new problem in my new phone s4 i9500 ..suddenly loss vibrat touch during using the phone in custom rom ...I flash sokp at first custom rom and got that issue then flash hassan rom based on stock at first flash the issue present but flash it again and then work after that flashed aicp rom and after some days today the vibrat gone even in recovery mode ...what can be the problem ? My phone still new 1month ago ..can it be from kernal philiz ?? Thanks for any suggestion
any suggestion or throw my phone from window ......software or hardware problem ?????
Hi Ammar,
I think your problem is in software. If I were you, I install cwm or twrp recovery, do all wipes including system, preload and internal memory, then flash the latest official firmware with Odin. If problem stands still, I do all wipes agaün and install the latest official firmware again. Even if this is does not work then I decide the problem is hardware based.

Well I cant comment on what went wrong.
I was on slim rom once and my vibration Intensity was tooo too low. Because of that was missing calls.
Or you can download an app for checking vibration. Once my proximity sensor and speaker stopped working, i ran a test and everything was back to normal.
Try test you android from the playstore and see if that test works.
Well here is the app
But again as I said, let us know if this is happening on the stock rom.

Once my Wi-Fi stopped working on a Cyanogenmod based rom. I flased stock firmware many times but it didn't work. Then I installed cwm recovery and do all wipes then it worked. As you understand, such wierd things might happen sometimes that we couldn't understand.
i sent my phone to company and told me that vibrate engine is broken and they change it and now work good but what is the problem that caused this i dont know exactly ...as they said either by drop the phone or by water but non of these happend with my new phone

Hello good people of XDA i own a gs4 for about a year. Absolutelyawesome phone, ... But recently i've had some problem.
Ok so let me explain if i was to lock my phone for longer time not touch it (1 hour or half an hour) when i unlock touchwizz freezes tho i can use things like notification bar.
So i tried fixing it. it happened to me before
- my phone is rooted
-it's not the battery
The only thing that helps is install a custom rom or install a custom rom and then revert to stock.
And i do root the phone, i know i can fix it clean install custom rom then stock rom, but i really have a lot of stuff on my phone.
I am using stock rom all the time and it could be that the problem is Root or something i really dont have a clue
I apologize if i posted incorrectly please let me know if you have a soulution im glad to take it

Idk i can try with a new battery maybe it'll do the trick

Were you experiencing this problem on stock kernel?
It might be worth Returning to Stock and seeing if the problem persists. That way you can narrow the problem down to whether it was caused by user intervention or if it's in fact a hardware problem.
Have you tried any other ROMs, Kernels? Or have you only ever been having this issue with Stock 20F with Dori?

I've never tried another ROMs, only base on stock (stock OPEN). But yes maybe my phone is trying to communicate...
I will test kernel stock and i'll be back :fingers-crossed:
thx
Ok... with KK Stock Kernel, i still have this bug... :/
But i read that it could be a problem of version (20F)... some users have this bug too. Update to 20G or not ? or be patient and update to LP ?
any suggestions ? :/
More than 6 month later, i still have this curious bug :/
