Restarts when power button pressed while charging - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
for a few days now, my ALE-L21 is instantly rebooting if I press the power button while it's charging. I've never had problems with it before.
The phone is rooted, the only app I could imagine interfering is Greenify. I'm on B584. Maybe someone had a similar problem and can share a solution or suggest something.
Cheers

For a lot of problems a factory reset or full reset does the trick. Use Titanium Backup to backup your apps and data but when the phone boots the newly installed (Stock) ROM, see if the issue persists before restoring the TB backup.

[Q] S4 freezes all the time.

I haveS4 (i9505) that had the rom foxhound 2.0 on it.
I later decided to install the Google Edition (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348272) on it.
When installing it I should have wiped data and cache but I accidentally used TWRP's "Format Data" function which deleted everything.
I had to use Odin to put back the original samsung software.
After this I installed the Google Edition the correct way.
When it booted up it said: "encryption unsuccessful" with a button "factory reset" which I pressed.
This took me to the recovery mode which also gave me an error (don't remember what it said).
So i used Odin yet again to put TWRP on it so I could factory reset the phone.
I used the phone for like 1 day but then strange things started to happen.
The phone just froze. Not like a normal freeze where everything stops, but where loading-animations still works and everything else stops working.
So I restarted the phone and it happened again and again and again. From like a few seconds to a few minutes the phone froze or rebooted.
The strange thing is that the same thing happens in recovery (TWRP), the same kind of freeze as described above.
And sometimes the phone refuses to turn on at all. Doesn't help to press all buttons, even holing the powerbutton for 1 minute doesn't help.
I have found out that when this happens I can disconnect the battery and reconnect it after some time to get it to start up again for a short time.
I've tried three different versions of TWRP, and also the original samsung firmware with the same result using Odin.
During all this I also had some problem with my SD-card. Files on it got corrupted and sometimes when i copied files over to it i didn't allow it to happen.
Anyone got any tips on what is going on/what i should do?

[Q] Unusual bootloop

Hi all, i installed the CM11 on my gf's Galaxy s3 (i9300 international version), the problem is that sometimes it randomly reboots and get stuck in an unusual bootloop. It reaches the bootsplash logo and it keeps rebooting, the only solution to get it back to work is to remove the battery for at least 30 seconds and try to turn it on, sometimes it works.
When the bootloop happens i'm not able to enter the recovery mode, because it just turns on and it keeps rebooting, same thing with download mode.
So, i'm new here, but i read about a common issue which is the sudden death syndrome and half-sds, it might be that? I checked and it has the insane chip.
Any advice/idea? It would be better to flash a stock ROM to be safe?
I would backup the whole device, recover initial firmware using kies emergency recovery mode and then start over again.
Had a similar problem but even worse: same bootloop, but no dice on recovery :\
Was unable to reflash or restore old firmware using Odin, Kies was the only thing that worked for me.

Do the reboots occure few seconds after pressing the power button?
I have exactly the same problem and I figured out that my power button is kinda stuck and thus permanently pressed.
This causes the permanent reboot, because holding the power button for a certain amount of time causes a reboot.
Try to push "Vol down"+"Homebutton" instantly after a reboot. If your galaxy enters the download mode (before rebooting again), you have the proof, that it's the fault of the power button due to the fact that pressing the power button would have been necessary.
I hope the fix will be for free under warranty.
At the first moment I also thought it would be the Sudden Death syndrom, but thankfully it's not the case and only the power button has to be fixed.

I don't know, i didn't paid attention to it. Anyway thanks to both of you for the replies, i'll check the power button as soon as possible since i don't have the phone with me right now. If that's not the cause, i think i'll do an emergency recover with kies as suggested by Cy4n1d3.
Now i still have a doubt, CM11 should have the fix for the sudden death syndrome merged into its code right? I'm asking this because if i'm right i could exclude sds as the cause of the problem...
Rebooting is not an SDS symptom, SDS is totally dead -suddenly.
Power button failure is diagnosed by inserting the battery, if it turns on by itself then button contacts are shorted out.
Your problem sounds more like corruption of the cache or dalvik, wipe and reflash your rom or go back to stock to test. Check MD5 of downloads and don't restore anything before you test.

Screen Black out - Factory Reset is the temporary fix(HELL!)

I am have been facing some kind of weird issue from past few days. It made me reset my phone for bringing it's life back.(HELL)
I am on stock CM12 with stock kernel.(Didn't root)
Issue:
♦After regular usage(hardly 10-20 apps other than stock), kept it aside. When I tried to access mobile later, I unlocked the mobile, the capacitive lights at the bottom (Key guard) lighten up but screen was not awake.I waited for some time, but the problem persisted.
♦I pressed the power button for few minutes and mobile restarted. The screen worked until Cyanogen boot logo, the OS booted up, screen was kind of on for 5 seconds and the problem started again. I made many restarts but couldn't get rid of it.
♦Later I booted into recovery, wiped cache hoping it could rectify the problem but it made things worsen. After rebooting from recovery, the OS was now stuck on Cyanogen boot logo.
♦It forced me to wipe data/factory reset mobile from recovery which made the mobile work but with it's sole lost(Data).
It's quite frustrating issue as I faced it for the second time today in few days.
Please help if anyone knows whats the problem.

phone freezes at lock screen,

hi guys i have an issue with my device (i9500) since i had a bad efs partition which i successfully restored from a backup.
The device works perfectly, but as soon as you lock it, and wait a few seconds, you can't unlock it anymore. Screen stays black, and the only way to get it started again is by removing the battery. Then it keeps on working perfectly, apps, games, everything is fine, as long as you don't lock it (by pressing powerbutton or auto lock)
Either then it crashes or restarts.
Things i've done already:
- Soft reset
- Hard reset + cache wiped
- tried many different roms
- fresh stock rom installed with Odin.
Problem still persists.
Disable lockscreen till you find another solution.

Downgraded from Marshmallow to Lollipop due to crashing issue - still does not reboot

I had wakelock with MM to no avail, still got crashes, etc.
Downgraded to Lollipop and also had to downgrade the bootloader as well.
Most of the problems went away. Installed WakeLock. NO more freezing / crashing.
With the exception of this problem - the phone does not reboot. If you shut it down, have to do a soft reset. Take out the battery, push the power button for a minute and then it boots. That's the only issue. Why does it do that?
With the phone shutdown, it does not even recognize the charger, or any button combination.
