I have tested 4 nougat based ROM's- Ressurection Remix, AICP, Official Lineage OS nightlies and AOSP-Extended and I have to say, being an audiophile myself that Nougat ROMs won't give you a very great music experience. The sound was distorted in both the speaker as well as the headphone jack. AICP was the only ROM that came with AudioFX and it wouldn't work when I would connect my headphones. I flashed the ARISE mod as well as Divine Beats and it would just make it worse. I even flashed Viper4Android and Dolby Atmos separately and it would increase the distortion. My suggestion, stick to a MM based ROM if you are picky about your Music as Nougat ROMs still have this issue to be fixed. I had asked this question on XDA as a matter of fact and they all told me the same thing.

HAI GUYS,
I WANT TO START A NEW THREAD COMPARING THE OVERALL QUALITY OF DIFFERENT ROMS MAINLY INTERESTED IN THE AUDIO AND CAMERA QUALITY AND ANY DIFFERENCE WHILE FLASHING DIFFERENT KERNELS.
I'M CURRENTLY USING TEMASEK ROM ON BEOFFLA KERNEL,I'M PERSONALLY NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE DSP MANAGER AND VIPER4ANDROID ON OPO.
THOSE OF YOU MORE EXPERIENCED IN THESE STUFF,PLZ CONTRIBUTE TO US NOOBS..:good:
Audio and camera quality is moreorless the same across ROMs, so the ROM doesn't really matter and it all comes down to your equipment. I can only recommend a good player.
You have opened the thread in the wrong section. This is not android development.
As mentioned above this is not ROM dependent unless the developer specifically includes some Mods in the ROM.
Viper4android should work well if u set it properly as per your requirement and .... have good earphones.
Also use kitkat roms or lolipop roms with v4a already implemented so that v4a is installed perfectly.
Guys I can't stand android 5.1 anymore,so I am gonna flash a 7.1 rom.But I really need the HI-FI function,in fact that's why I bought pro 5 instead of galaxy s6.I haven't flashed an unofficial ROM yet,and I need to know if it is posible to support the full HI-FI function (include the low gain ,high gain and line out )on an android 7.1 rom like cm or crdioid?Guys, thank you! And sorry for my poor English.
all works perfect i think, hi-fi works better in custom roms of faust than in flyme
and you can flash divine beats also

Thank you very much Is the HiFi feature enjoyable in every of your apps or just specifics music players? I mean: Poweramp 3.0 just added native Meizu and LG V HiFi support. Do I need to look for "adapted apps" or it'll work as a general audio decoder for everything? (Like the DAC Fix App for the LG V10 and V20 allows to)

try for yourself the 3 roms
rr and cm are more stable and have very good compatilbity for apps, especially cm
i dont have the pro 5 anymore
so good luck testing
to flash divine beats
1 you have to root phone
2 you have to install busybox
3 you have to change selinux to permissive, you can do that with xda app selinux mode changer
than install divine beats 9.0 ganaa
it will work perfect and dolby atmos + viper fx is very good adition to sound even meizu pro 5 have excelent sound
Is anyone still on this? Feels like one of the best if not the best custom rom atm for one that doesn't get updated. Smooth, stable, battery drains a bit fast with everything stock it might be better after I test with jojoc or schwifty kernel. It has working oreo Dolby unlike los, pie toggles/settings without being an actual buggy pie, and a lot or the most customizations without xposed. Performance feels faster than aex, stock oreo and about the same as los while looking nicer. los could only work with nougat UI Dolby and i know a lot of people like viper though i prefer oreo Dolby. Stock oreo is good and all but feels like not much of a reason for me to stay on it anymore except for slightly faster charging compared to all aosp roms. Havoc has a different look compared to the other oreo roms like how Chinese roms are except with working root and gcam. No slowdowns yet like AEX had but I need to test more first. I hope there isn't that video recording bug later on if I flash schwifty treble. So far so good for me there isn't anything that hasn't not worked how I wanted it to yet. Sad we lost such a great dev
Stock nougat is probably still ok if people want the best performance, battery, charging and some features like daydream that I never used at the cost of what looks to me like an outdated system, Dolby UI and no gcam. LOS might be best for latest security patches. The only problem havoc could have is maybe the headphone jack audio bug since it's old so I'll use Bluetooth for now if that helps. Also at first boot it was a little laggy then got way better somehow I think after a restart. Dolby app only showed with magisk 16.4 and nothing higher. Open for suggestions if people know more roms like this!
I'm using Nfounds pixel experience havok os Oreo and its the best ROM I have tried so far .it doesn't have Dolby but using neutron it sounds very good . battery not bad with average 4 to 5 hours SOT . I've tried treble pie ROMs and will wait a bit before going back to pie , I see no real reason apart from security updates to change ROMs

Thx I'll try it soon I didn't even know nfound had a PE build. Pie was a little buggy for me too unless I was using it wrong. Hopefully all of us can use them later because this phone being treble compatible should make up for the lack of custom roms
Havoc only problem seems to be slight delay when opening apps like other aosp roms. I don't think Chinese rom, stock nougat and oreo have this problem
Edit - tried dotOS and in love with it now. Feels like an updated havoc
im back on HavocOS treble from NFound, its still very good oreo rom for me...and for now.
I use it with b20 modified splash bootstack

I think I liked havoc mostly for Dolby oreo. Dot os has better performance and battery life is similar in both. Everything else about both is about the same too except that dot os is still being maintained every once in a while. I only got Dolby nougat working with dot os so far thanks to a user on telegram. Viper has been a good replacement for me too but if there's ever a working Dolby oreo I'll use that asap because it's what I'm used to
In pie rom volumes are very louder with no bass we need stock rom quality in pie rom plz port anyone
Hi I have been using stock Chinese Rom since day 1 and I always wanted to try new Rom, but the fear of losing HiFi audio and stability I didn't switch to new Rom ,and now I have to replace the battery but I was thinking to switch to a new custom Rom with support of HiFi audio and gcam can any one help me out and what should I do get the most out of my beloved axon 7.
i will go for nuclearom with radioactive kernel,magisk18,sauron audio mod, dolby atmos. Its nougat rom and it have vulkan api drivers
hello there
what version of ainur sauron do you recommend?
there's plenty out there
and do we have to flash the audio Dac zip too?
