As the title says, anybody got VoLTE enabled in M8 ?
I have tried almost all RUU including Developer Edition RUU,Indian RUU etc .None of the ROM doest support VoLTE.
Any suggestions to enable?
At last I Found solution to enable Reliance Jio VoLTE for m8,
1.) S-OFF your M8 using SunShine.
2.) Change your CID to Super CID.
3.) Change you MID to 0P6B12000
4.) Download the AT&T lastest RUU from
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_6.20.502.5_combined.exe?_ga=1.176217506.667414554.1488534807
5) Install RUU to your M8...
You can now call directly using dialer. (No need to use JioVoice App for calling or SMS)...:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::good::good:

This is false information. CDMA is a completely different network type from GSM, as well as from LTE. A number of folks have gotten the Sprint M8 to work on LTE networks (aside from Sprint). However, LTE compatibility is a tricky thing. Even with the proper band support on the GSM version M8, I've seen a lot of folks not achieve LTE on their local networks. Let alone VoLTE, which is even more complicated (carrier specific deployments, etc.).

When an M8 version is called "CDMA version" it means the phone supports CDMA in addition to (at least some) GSM and LTE bands.
Sprint is a CDMA network. There is no such thing a Sprint branded device that does not support CDMA.

Well I believe that this is not possible. Because the Htc One M8 Sprint has hardware restrictions. Then the 4G network will work if your carrier has the same bands used by the Sprint carrier. I also have an Htc One M8 Sprint and M9 Sprint also tried converting M8 to Dev Edition and almost briked my device. So really settle for 3G band or sell yours and buy a Dev Edition. If you know a way to bypass those restrictions that will a help for thousands of people like us who want to have a fully working Sprint M8 n M9 on GSM 4G LTE VoLTE ????

You're talking about a couple different things now.
First of all, the Sprint M8 already supports some (not all) LTE bands, out of the box, with no modification. Maybe the bands supported (there are many used by various carriers worldwide) are not the ones required by your local carrier. Or even if it supports the proper bands, that is no guarantee you will have LTE service on your local carrier; due to carrier specific deployments of LTE. From what I've seen, LTE support on various carriers is very tricky and there is no consistency (even when the device supports the proper LTE bands).
I'm fairly certain that some folks on here have had success getting LTE to work on their local networks on the CDMA M8 (at least Verizon). But your results will vary depending on your local carrier and the factors just mentioned. Plus, the Sprint version seems more locked down than the Verizon M8, so yet more complications there.
Second, what you did trying to convert the Sprint M8 (which you did not previously mention, and a completely separate matter) by flashing RUU, firmware, or radio from any other M8 version is definitely impossible, as you mentioned due to hardware differences; in addition to different radios, different partitioning, and different kernels. This is simply the wrong way to try to change band support on a CDMA version M8; which will not work and may (as you know) possibly lead to a radio brick (and sometimes a permanent radio brick).
There are some possible mods to modify band support on the CDMA variants. However, your results again may vary. In particular, it seems the Sprint version is not particularly compatible with such mods. But here they are, in any case. As always, proceed at your own risk, if you so decide to. And only after reading through the threads and understanding properly :

Hi I wanted to buy this pone from amazon, but the thing is that I would buy the sprint versión with no contract and I don't live in the US, so my question is, can I unlock this pone to use it with any other company? like Movistar? I read that the pone was GSM so I thought it would be posible, however I won't take the risk of paying 590 dollars for a pone that I can't use, thanks

What do you mean if I dont know dont tell? What does that supposed to mean?
I KNOW my Cellular Networks!
Sprint is a CDMA Network!
The ONLY part about sprint that is NOT CDMA is LTE which the sim card slot is LOCKED to sprint.
They MIGHT be a fix but right now there is NOT. Some of the older phones like the Moto Photon its not LTE but its a world phone and people could flash a few things and make it work, But only EDGE in the USA anyway.
But as of right now and problay for a while its NOT going to work.

I expect Sprint will provide a method soon to unlock the GSM and UMTS functions in the phone to be able to use it internationally. However, I don't expect the GSM and UMTS functions to operate inside the US. Sprint has always disabld them on GSM capable Android and iOS devices it sells.
I don't see why it wouldn't work for you as long as you can get it unlocked.
Sprint is not going to unlock it for you unless you are a long time customer or have the phone with them for 90 days.
hyelton is completely wrong though.. the sim does authenticate lte on sprint but also acts as a gsm sim internationally.
you can also remove the sim and insert any international sim once unlocked providing the carrier uses the correct bands.

You are all kinds of WRONG.
Sprint's GS4 is fully capable of voice and data on international GSM/HSPA+/UMTS 850/900/1900/2100MHz networks. You have to request Sprint to unlock your phone's sim (or find a work around if you're not a Sprint customer), but once unlocked you can pop in any international sim and it will WORK JUST FINE on international GSM networks, they don't have to support LTE. Heck the only thing preventing the SG4 from working on US GSM networks is Sprint locked the Sim from using USofA GSM carrier sim cards.
As long as the OP can get their Sprint SG4 sim unlocked, they can pop in their international sim and use the GSM in their country NO PROBLEM like any other GSM phone.
SO ONCE AGAIN, Sprint's SG4 has a fully functioning GSM modem that supports international carrier GSM/HSPA+/UMTS 850/900/1900/2100MHz bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You would think someone with almost 2,000 posts and who made a statement like "I KNOW my Cellular Networks!" would know better. Do yourself a huge favor and actually know what you're talking about before you go spouting off again, because you really made yourself look like an ignorant fool.

Well YES you can easily use your phone overseas, But it was POSTED in the Sprint Forum which is ONLY in the USA and in which using it does NOT apply in the USA. And to get the phone unlocked I`m not sure if a regular unlocking company would be able to do it someone with a sprint account would and it would be MUCH more trouble than just to pick up a ACTUAL GSM carriers Version of the phone.( I should had just said that to begin with) Its VERY pointless to TRY and want to use the sprint Version when they are SEVERAL OTHER varrients that are GSM they could have got to use.
EXCEPT... the op specifically said they wanted to purchase it from Amazon America to use on their country's GSM network.
Why they want to do that? WHO KNOWS, maybe it might be cheaper doing it this way, but that is what they want to do and despite all your unnecessary wrongful information, the OP can do what they asked as long as they can get the sim unlocked.

Amazon sells the Sprint for $599 this is probably why. I bought mine at Best Buy and had them price match Amazon for that price.

Looks like everyone here is an expert in this matter but so far haven't seen a single link to reputable sources... OP call sprint international department and get answer straight from the carrier (888) 226-7212
Even IF the phone is capable of being used in GSM bands internationally, you would have to get it unlocked by sprint and they change policies all the time so just call..

I got my phone unlocked for international use. I contacted sprint international services. I was initially told that you have to be activated for at least 90 days before they could unlock the phone but would forward my request to some department. After one day I got a email that my phone has been unlocked.

Yea.... but it ONLY works internationally AND you have to be a sprint customer.
The POINT I have been trying to get across is that people need to understand Sprint is a CDMA carrier and ONLY relies on GSM for LTE. I think what people think is that they are solely a gsm carrier like most of the world is but its NOT

Hello guys, it is my first post here! I tried searching for my specific question but I did only find hints, not a true answer.
I'm about to change my phone soon, I come from iOS world so please don't be too hard on me if what I ask is stupid or evident for you (as it would not necessarily be the case for me ).
I am right now looking at a Sprint 32GB version of a LG G2, it does have a bad ESN with Sprint. Obviously it is not high priced since ESN is bad. I understand a little that ESN is linked to WMCA networking, which is specific to each carrier. It is the same as connecting to data with Sprint or Verizon or AT&T, or in my area, SFR, Orange, Bouygues, Vodafone... Am I right?!
From what I've read, it would be best for me to search for a regular phone instead if I was in USA. But I live in Europe, so I don't care about not being able to connect to Sprint network.
If I flash/root this phone with an EU stock ROM or International ROM (or even a custom ROM, since a lot are available here), will I be able to connect to my local carriers' networks?
Regarding your advices I will or will not buy this phone.
Sorry if my english is bad, & Thanks in advance! :good:

If you're saying that you're gonna buy the Sprint version because it's good in price and you live in Europe. Just check the bands which the Sprint version supports and the bands which your network provider in Europe provides. If they are compatible then no worries. Just make sure that you only flash ROMs etc which are made for the Sprint variant. I think you would also need to unlock the device which I'm not sure about.
Still, the best thing to do us to buy the international variant(D802) which is not locked if you also can't figure out how to unlock.

Sprint does not support 2100 frequency. 3g hspa HSDPA so on use the above mentioned frequency. According to my knowledge India uses 2100 frequency band. So unfortunately you'll not be able to use 3g in India with the sprints version.
Try for at&t version

Actually bro everything is fine with the setting I guess, as I have tried a different sim as well, whenever i enable data it does not show "E" on the notification bar as it Use to show before I could only see GSM inside a small circle when ever i activate net there is no "E" at all. All the problems started when I updated the cell via OTA update initially when I got the cell it was ZV7, now after the update its ZVA and not able to Use net since then. Please find the attached screen shot about the GSM showing up when i enable data.
it will not show E on stock rom unless u make some changes,
thats how Sprint rom reports network.
Other roms ull see E and H.

So how come no matter what Custom ROM I try I can't text or get LTE support what so ever? Maybe I'm spoiled but it seems pointless to me

Maybe.
Seems like you just wanted to vent. You didn't say what custom ROMs you have tried or any other useful details, which leaves me no choice but to assume that you either haven't tried many ROMs or are wildly exaggerating.
Most of the ROMs that I have used work fine for both SMS and LTE. If you post a better description of your situation, what ROMs you have tried, specific errors you had, etc, then we'd have a much better basis to help you.

That implies that you have searched exhaustively without productive results. But you've only tried two ROMs. You are factually mistaken about the first ROM, and I'd wager about the second one too.
You said that there are no APN settings in Phoenix 2.0. I just reinstalled Phoenix and the APN settings are present in the expected place

SMS works fine as well.
For your LTE issues, you said that you are using a 900P model, but didn't say what carrier you use. You have a Sprint phone, so confirm that Sprint has LTE in your particular area and that your SIM /account is provisioned for LTE.
If you are using the handset on a different carrier then your LTE problems are due to using an incompatible phone, not ROM bugs. Sprint is a CDMA carrier, with limited LTE and even more limited compatibility with LTE on GSM carriers. This is not a ROM limitation, but caused because you have a CDMA version of the S5 that isn't configured for much more than the specific bands that Sprint uses.
Note that the specs for the 900P say that it can access LTE bands 25/26/41.
Now compare that to some GSM carriers
TMobile LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/14/17
ATT LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/17
Bell LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/17
900F LTE bands 1/2/3/5/7/8/20
Or CDMA carriers
Verizon LTE bands 4/13
US Cellular LTE bands 2/4/5/12/17
You can see that most GSM carriers are largely compatible in the LTE bands that they use. The CDMA carriers in contrast have few bands in common with each other or GSM carriers.
In particular, your 900P doesn't appear to have any LTE bands in common with any of the other carriers. So the only way you will get LTE is if you are using Sprint in an area where Sprint has LTE service. Due to 900P restrictions, not the ROM.
.
Wrong LTE is available on sprint & in my area. And APN is non existent when using those ROMs. So its not my phone unless they don't support my phone
Good luck with your issues.

So how come no matter what Custom ROM I try I can't text or get LTE support what so ever? Maybe I'm spoiled but it seems pointless to me

1. Did you used OLD SIM that you were using in your device before S5?
2. If yes than, Did that device had LTE?
3. If the the answer is Q 2 is NO, than simple solution, your SIM is not LTE activated. Just go to your service provider and tell them to change the SIM with LTE activated SIM... Hope it helps...

I know that the sprint variant of the LG G2 was modded to work on GSM radios such as tmobile.. is there any insight on making this happen on this device ? id love to use this with tmo :good:

Discussion of this has been ongoing in the General forum. The assessment is, despite the implication that there's a GSM band in the Crystal's modem, there really isn't one, and it is impossible to use GSM on the device. Supposedly, the SoftBank model has GSM, but we can't exactly confirm that the Sprint and Boost variants are based on the exact same hardware.
http://www.softbank.jp/en/mobile/product/smartphone/aquos-crystal/ The SoftBank site says it can do international GSM as a world phone, but tests say Sprint and Boost can't. It's not exactly confirmed what's going on.
The device is set up with VoLTE, so assuming the carrier has VoLTE on their 4G signal, a GSM carrier would work just fine, but we haven't seen any luck with it yet. Software block is an assumption right now, so maybe when the bootloader is unlocked, but that's still a ways away. We've not even achieved full root yet.
Thinking of getting this BOGO s7 special from t mobile and switching to verizon at a later date. Would the s7 work on Verizon?
No. They generally do not.

Tmobile phones only has GSM radios and not CDMA radios which is what Verizon uses. It might work if you put your sim card in there but it probably won't connect at full speed with Verizon's LTE since they have different frequencies.
Thanks guys.
I think the difference here is that the T-Mobile S7 says it supports LTE bands 4 and 13, so I wonder if it could be used as an LTE only device if you just swap SIMs.

It's 2016?
People post things?
What's the point of your comment? Sounds like your surprised CDMA and GSM still exists, or that people know they still exist.

I actually mixed it around and thought he asked if Verizon's S7 would work on T-Mobile (which it would)
And of course, the T-Mobile S7 wouldn't work on VZW (because of the missing CDMA radios, of course)
That doesn't exclude all T-Mobile phones -- T-Mobile capable phones such as the iPhone 6/6S, Nexus 5X/6/6P, and Moto X/X2 will work on both T-Mobile and Verizon.
T-mobile s7 will only work as data device. Only band 2 and 4 are supported on T-mobile version and no VoLte support.
Volte is nice but shouldn't be a deal breaker. Verizon didn't update their z3 with volte support until a year after its release.

But without VoLTE or CDMA you won't get any calls or SMS.
