Unlocked bootloader, got twrp installed, rooted no problems. Then I read a post saying for wifi tether to flash magisk, download the app and then enable the wifi tether app. easy enough right? So the wifi tether works but now I no longer get LTE signal. I went into twrp, wiped three times, and flashed my backup. still no LTE. full signal bar on 3G. If I turn on airplane mode and then turn it off I will get LTE with an ! next to the signal bar and then it will go back to 3G . Any thoughts????
couple of screen shots
I have gone through resetting radio, switching modes, going to global. no LTE. Guy at best buy is cool and is letting me exchange for a new phone. Just wont be in till thursday.

Kind of proves the point I was making in another thread yesterday that additional apps and gimmicks are seldom the best way to fix things. Sorry to see you are having problems. You might try flashing the modem for your phone. Also, check the APN to which you're connecting.

Anyone having any luck with Roam Control on EG22? I'm running the EG22 w/ EG22 modem. Everything looks to be working fine except for one huge glaring problem...roaming. I have all the roam guard nonsense turned off. I hit Roaming Only, I get the little triangle and even see it in the debug connected to VZW but I never get any data connection. I've tried rebooting, etc.
I would love to hang out on EG22 but without roaming this thing is worthless to me. At work I have to force roam since Sprint data has been dead downtown for over a year.
Works fine for me
remember, data won't show if you're connected to 4g or wifi.

Hmm... no 4G or WiFi here. It just shows the triangle with the signal meter, but of course there is no data connection.
I flashed the DEODEXED version by decadance. What version are you using? are you using the EG22 modem? I haven't tried to flash an older modem yet.
Make sure you have data enabled. hold the power button and then click data network mode.
Tried with rc 1.4 and it worked, the 3g data symbol doesn't show up till you request for internet. Both time I tried took 1 min to handshake.
I am using prl 11114 and my suppose to be 3g data roam speed is at cdma speed dl is caped around 120kbps on verizon full signal bar.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
the newest RC works for me, but the modem crashes and reboots every time I go into roaming, but it reboots into roaming fine so I haven't really worried too much
I checked all that. It just doesn't handshake for some reason. I remember this same issue on the very first Froyo leak. Weird thing is I tried the roaming on the very first GB leak and it worked just fine.
I'll have to flash around some modems, try a different release of EG22 and see if I can get this working. This feature is a huge must for me.
Got it working... ODIN'd to this version of GB and it worked first shot. WOOHOO!! Loving it.

Hi I'm running 4.2.2 cm10.2 and I used one of the flash able packages for unlocking lte (.27/.84 radios). Now whenever I am connects to my wifi overnight th next day when I leave my wifi network my cellular data is grayedout and I can only bring it back by rebooting my phone. Turning the radio off and airplane mode don't fix this, I have to reboot the phone.
Any ideas as to why this is happening or suggestions?
Thanks!
After my device boots, it will get LTE for about a minute or so then switch to a 3G connection. The only way to get the LTE connection back is to toggle Airplane mode, or reboot. Toggling Mobile Data only gets me a 3G connection. I've let it sit on 3G expecting it to switch back to LTE after a few minutes, no go.
I did not notice this issue when I was on JellyBeans 4.3 Rom. I'm currently running a 4.4.2 Eclipse Rom. I've tried the MI9, MJE, NC2, and NC4 modem all with the same issue. I beginning to think that it's my SIM card that has gone bad. I'm having a new SIM ordered so I can replace it.
Does anyone else have anything that I could try as troubleshooting?

I'm not sure if it's the SIM card that is causing your problem. Just curious....what network mode do you have selected? Global or LTE/CDMA?
If you have "Global" selected, you may want to switch to "LTE/CDMA" and see if that helps.
It could also be EclipseRom. I love the features and looks of AOSP, but my own phone always seems to have a weaker radio signal when I'm on that Rom as compared to true TW Roms.
You may want to further troubleshoot by flashing a different Rom to see if you still get the same LTE drop-offs.

I was on LTE/CDMA then it asked to switch itself to Global mode a few times. Eventually I told it OK. I've noticed no difference with this mode. I've tried JasmineROM and EclipseRom. Both had the same issue. I never had this issue on JellyBeanz 4.3 ROM, so it could be 4.4.2. I'll be trying the new SIM card first, since I'm getting it tomorrow, if that fails I'm going to go on a flash spree and see what happens.
On that note, if I wanted to go back to 4.3, can I? I read somewhere that I can just Odin back to 4.3. I also read somewhere that going from 4.4.2 -> 4.3 will brick the device.
Got a new SIM from Verizon. All is working now.

Go to a Verizon store and get a new SIM card. That's what I had to do.

I'm glad that worked for you!
Hey!
I have found a really weird issue since (officially) updating to lollipop (N910C, BOC3). Initially, mobile data worked fine, but after a day or two I noticed, that after going off of wifi, I only got edge connection. I rechecked the settings, restarted the phone but the phone just doesn't go past edge (to 3g or hsdpa; no lte yet for me).
So I then chose to hard reset my phone, wipe cache and reinstall everything. At first, everything went fine and I had H+ connection, no problem. I tried to enable/disable wifi and mobile data a couple of times, but all seemed fine. Today (after 1 day), I noticed again that mobile data is stuck on EDGE.
As far as I remember, everything worked fine on 4.4.4. I even rechecked my sim and settings on my old XperiaZ, where H+ works normally.
Any ideas?
Best regards and ty.
Update: After messing around, I found that by setting the network to wcdma only, allowed the phone to connect to 3g. This means that when left on automatic network mode, the phone choses 2g network and won't switch to 3g even if it is available... Do you guys know a setting where you can tell it to preferentially chose 3g, while on the auto network mode? P.S. I don't have any battery saving options turned on...
Bump... No one knows how to set preferred connection type?
Are you in a room when you are testing? Have you tried to go outside, and while you are connected to edge or H/H+ , open up your internet browser and go to a website and watch your connection if it changes to LTE or 4G...
There is an app that can do what you are asking but you have to root your device in order for it to work... I can't remeber what it's called and I know someone will chime in...

Thanks for your suggestion. I am not rooted yet and will try to keep it that way for a little while yet... will see how long i'll last xD
Manual mode will have to suffice for now, seeing as rooting is the only option. Might be a carrier setting related problem =/

It's all too frequently dropping 4G or LTE connection when on the move. It's showing a connection, good strength too, but no data connection working. Often needing an airplane mode toggle or reboot to get online again.
5G is disabled as I'm nowhere near a 5G area.
Anyone got any ideas? Different firmware or something?
I'm starting to regret moving away from the SD note 10 plus I had. That phone was rock solid.

I read that some people have issues with connection with some ISP providers. Try putting it on 3G and see if it works fine then. If it does then ISP has either sn issue with 4G network or phone needs a firmware fix to solve 4G connection issue if this isn't a hardware problem thought. Since for me it works fine here and my 4G shows all time and I even have 4G+ as status without an issue.
try disabling WiFi calling that helped in my case
Tried all that. Went into a town and it didn't again.. Had to force it onto 4g to get a connection.

Haven't had any issues myself, on giffgaff. Tried O2 briefly, it seemed okay too.

Give this app a try, might help fixing it to one band
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ray.samsungbandselection
Yes u have that thanks. It seems to be band switching that's the problem. Or is it possible my carrier has live but unused bands that the phone is locking into? So when I travel I find myself with a dead data connection?
