Froyo 2.2.1 available

I just found Froyo 2.2.1 with Kernel Version 2.6.32.9-27240 over here
Installation: Fastboot recovery-RA-nexus-v1.9.0-alpha.img, then boot into recovery and install zip from SDCARD where i placed the above download into root of sdcard.
We all have it
...Cyanogen as well
As expected, I shouldn't have posted. Question: I got a Nexus since 1 day, installed Cyanogen and observed battery drain. So I am trying to use the original rom and see what happens. I'm not very experienced, does someone have hints to prolong battery lifetime?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Hi MenoDev,
from my personal experience I can tell that the duration of a new battery improves after a few charge/discharge cycles.
When I bought my N1 (but I had a similar experience with the Desire) the battery didn't last more than a working day (~8 hrs). Now, under the same usual workload, I can squeeze 2 full days of energy out of the battery.
I must admit that while I keep my GPRS connection always on, I do not use the telephone that much (20-30 mins of conversation a day). A different usage could obviously affect the battery duration.
But that is pointless. What I'm suggesting you is to use the device as you normally would, do a few charge/discharge cycles and you will surely experience a better battery duration in a matter of days.
Cheers.

Welcome to the XDA forums
Definitely check out these two threads:

I agree on that what the core dev has written. As for my understanding it is the lack of interprocess communication from "branded" stuff that the controller has no access to. That's not an Android issue but rather the implementation of the various "flavours" - teach me better, that's what I'm here for.
A note: Dynamic handling of processes and threads can't be hard coded - keyword Mutex: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_exclusion
(not even predictive modelling would get close to what is been claimed above)

Here are mine on a good day (see attachments elow). I am also running oICSv41 with the GladOS v2.2/2.3 Kernel.

I heard rumours of poor battery life...
is there a native screenshot feature? if not what did u guys use to take screenshots. i dont want to root this phone.
Screen capture on ICS: Hold Volume down + Power
On CM9: Hold Power and select Screen capture from the menu
How is that possible? Stock ics/kernel?

I got pretty decent life. ddnt see the ics bug at all.
it had drained about 40% (60% left) after a day with some use and the whole night without charging.

As far as I know you have to root for it. Stock ICS seems to have it loaded into the system as far as I can tell.
And damn you guys have some impressive battery life. I think I'm gonna start tweaking a few things past just the kernel and the OC/UV settings. If I had a decent foot in developing I would work on a truly dedicated ICS rom with the best life I can get from it. The ones we currently have already do a good job as is.

Its possible when you don't do anything with your phone.
Charge it and don't touch it and you will get 24 hours or more
Here is what I got. Same as GB. I solved many issues with a hard reset.

All stock on ICS

4.0.3 ota, rooted.
I'm a light user, obviously
Best I've achieved is 22hrs with 4-5hrs of screen "on" time. No current screen shot, but I'll snag one once glados 2.4 has settled in with my sph33r v2 rom.
Wow, there are some pretty amazing graphs here.
Could I request that people attach their ROM and Kernel along with these screenshots? It would be nice if everyone could have the same battery life!
(Also, some of these pictures show that no voice calls are even made ...)
Yeah, everyone can get amazing battery life with wifi off and hardly any usage of the phone lol.

True, but if you looked at some of the graphs you will notice many users that posted were actually using their phones. One user had 35 hours up time with plenty of battery left with "Screen On" at the top of battery consumption, probably correlating to greater than 2.5 hours of screen on time.

Unless they post screen on time it really doesn't mean much and you are just guessing. People please post screen on time along with the discharge graph.

Fair enough. But, if you find a screen shot of battery use with <5-10% remaining and greater than 25% 'Screen On' usage that isn't near or over 150 minutes of screen on time, please send me a pm. I've looked throughout these threads at many battery graphs and haven't seen one with that high of screen usage without the screen being on for nearly 2.5 hours or more- (with the exception of people getting dismal battery life of course, i.e. 2 hours and 90% drained, etc.).

[Discussion] Best Battery Life

Which ROM&Kernel Combination gave you the best battery life?
I have to improve my battery life and i can't find the right combination.

pretty much. every device behaves differently I found.
Whatever combination you try though make sure you give it 2-3 days before judging it.
For me I'm using speedmod kernel + CheckRom HD. It's a great balance between battery life and performance. I use the 2000 mAh samsung battery and never have to worry during the day about my battery. Just plug it in when I go to sleep.
All the best!
I think Sensation ROM is the best. Cuz, very long battery life about 3-4 days in normal use(without open 3g or wifi). And, very stable for me

You're going to have to try various combinations out for yourself. Using the same combination as someone else on the basis of them saying "This rom/kernel combination gives me teh awesomz battery life !" will almost certainly lead to you being disappointed.
The reasons for that are:- No two phones come out of the factory the same (components do vary, mostly slightly, sometimes a lot), no two users will have the same usage patterns and no two users will have their phones setup the same.
Sooo....Get reading. Read the various threads about the various roms/kernels, take particular note of other people's experiences with same to give you a guide. And ask questions there if necessary.
Asking vague questions like this will ultimately waste your time.
Edit - Notice how so far you've only had answers from "newer" forum members ? There's a reason for that. Read my post again, the hint's in there

My phone lasts weeks if I don't touch it and leave it in airplane mode! Wooooo!
There's a new "what ROM/kernel thread" every couple of days and I always read them for some reason. I think I have a pathological need to get these things marked as read but I don't want to just click the "Mark This Forum Read" button.
Really, every ROM I've used gets me through at least one day of normal use, and my varying usage patterns have much, much more impact than ROM. My advice is one of two things: either use a ROM you're comfortable with and just don't mess with it too much, or develop ORD and flash ROMs every few days. Either way you're probably gonna be fine.
CheckROM v4 and SiyahKernel i get just over a day of constant use, and around 3 to 4 days of moderate use using standard battery and a few battery saving tips mentioned previously.
CM7 + siyah kernel
so far i've been using CM7 + siyah kernel and it can last me a day with moderate use...just use 2G instead of 3G if u r not using the internet..2G is more than enough for my background apps that needs data for push notification(ie facebook, mail, whatsapp etc...)

Instead of posting a bunch of pictures, please upload an idle dump from better battery stats(min 6h deep sleep without any usage) and explain exactly what are you worry about.
Most wakelocks on your screenshots are necessary ones without your phone won't be a smartphone.
Also please consider this thread for information https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/op5-battery-life-thread-t3624705

Ok, you forgot the rom, version, modifications, kernels etc: your setup.
So far the idle drain is high with 1.2%/h and lost 12% over night, but you have 15min screen usage(what you did in that time? ). So the dump can be not that accurate for idle analyzes...
Please try to unplug your device and do not use is, let it sleep over night.
Latest XXX rom, stock kernel from the rom.
I used the device 15 minutes before sending the dump files.

What could be the reason behind my battery drain?

Hello,
I am at a loss as to why my battery drains in the background so much. I'm curious as to if something needs to be done from my end to ensure it doesn't drain so much. I'm currently on Pixel Experience with its default kernel (weeb). I'm rooted with magisk, and using pixel wifi mod, as well as the gps mod provided in the list of collectibles and flashable zips in the guides section. Have attached screenshots from battery usage, as well as better battery stats. Please point me to the right thread if needed. Would love to sort this out if possible, as I'm not in a position to buy a new phone yet. Thanks in advance!
I must add that i had this kind of drain on OOS 9.0.5 as well, but at that time, I did not use wifi or gps mods.

Could you explain why the first one wasn't? It was in deep sleep for 6h and 3 mins. Also in that thread, the OP had mentioned to charge the phone, and drain till 95. Hence why i thought that the screen must be on for a bit. So basically the bare minimum time that you mention the screen must be on is to take the bbs dump right? I wasn't really sure after going through the thread, hence thought I'd ask once. Thanks again!
Edit- I understand by going through the original thread that we shouldn't even have more than a minute of SOT. Sorry for that! Have never taken a dump from BBS before.

Next one is ssusb wakelock, check this out https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809&p=79121123
Also your fitbit device keeps your device awake over Bluetooth.
You received a call for some minutes and your device rings? It gives wrong results as it keeps the device awake.
You have 1%/h overall drain which is higher than expected on this device(it can be 0.4-0.7) so try to minimize the above listings.
If you have further questions please feel free to ask

Thanks. Bleacherreport is a sports news app. I use it to get football updates, read articles and see wrestling news. Some of their writers are okayish, but the best part is that they share twitter posts which are from some of the more well known sports journalists. I use it and reddit equally well.

I have uninstalled fitbit's app and the cricbuzz app for now. I shall have to manage the phone carefully for a few months if the problem doesn't go away ? Thanks anyway!
