Hi guys!
So yesterday I installed Folder mount in order to free up some space in the phone's internal memory.
After the installation I rebooted the phone and... it says something like "Device Memory Damaged - the data partition has been corrupted. You need to reset your device to factory default. This will erase all your date..."
Alright now, I don't care about recovering messages, pictures, music or whatsoever. I specifically need to recover an app data, Wechat, that is a Whatsapp alike app. So I need to get the all my conversations back since this stupid application doesn't store in cloud...
So what's the solution? Is there a way to fully backup my phone from PC and then restore it?
Cheers,
Ego
Addition:
I've just noticed on Team Win Recovery (3.0.2-2) that my Internal memory is shown as 0 MB. So I guess it's not detected and foldermount somehow messed up with the partition system... Is there a way to get my partition back? I'm about to cry...
With odin flash your original rom files.
Flash only ap, cp and bl
This will not erase phone.
This sounds good, but is there a way to retrieve the specific rom I flashed? It was quite long ago, I flashed it and then accidentally deleted it...
Any help guys?

You will need to flash your phone using pit file for repartition. If you need link for firmware you should be more specific with you model number
Thanks. Is the model number enough? S7 Edge SM G935F
How's the procedure exactly? I'm quite noob. If you can please give me a link or something. Cheers
What region do you live? Or what CSC you had in phone?
I bought it in Italy under the carrier 3 (Tre). Contract with them. And I live in Italy.

Download this firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/107501/G935FXXU1BPJE_G935FITV1BPJ1_ITV/
It contains 5 files
Also download pit for ITV CSC from here: https://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30628
Thank you so much.
Is it this one right?
SM-G935F OXA multi CSC ( BTU CPW DBT ITV KOR NEE XEF XEO )
by default : XEF
HERO2LTE_EUR_OPEN.pit
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bzy...ew?usp=sharing
And then... what is the exact procedure? Where should I copy the files and how should I use Odin?

Yes, is that file, you can follow this tutorial on flashing https://youtu.be/qil5zumfA8w
Before pressing start select pit tab in odin and add pit file. Make sure repartition is ticked. Good luck!
Cheers! I'll let you know
So I've been following the guide you suggested to me, but I'm afraid I might erase my internal memory.
So before proceeding I just wanted to double check with you. I guess the only difference between the guide and what I should do is the fact that I shouldn't select the CSC? Since you told me to flash AP BL and CP, but you didn't say anything about CSC.

no, only difference is that you will have to select pit file in pit tab after you select those 4 files
So my phone recovered but it deleted my application's data (Wechat conversations...). That was the whole point. Well, I guess now there's no way to recover it, now that I overrode my internal memory with a new installation... :crying::crying::crying:
I'm not blaming on you, usmanmalik, but did you misread my first post by any chance? Because the whole point was to recover this app's data (WeChat).

You didn't had a chance to recover anything from phone from the begining, because your internal memory was damaged by app you used to free memory, so you rather preffered to have a non working phone?

Hi. I've searched and found some ''usefull'' information, but none with a clear anwser to my question or a success/fail detail.
I have an HongKong (TGY) N9005 16GB, with the SW Version N9005ZHUENH4 (4.4 TGY Hong Kong)
There is no update for this ROM to Android 5 ithink. (well, mine says the SW has been modifield). I don't have root, and yes, tried to factory reset, and remove sdcard, but says the same ''software modified".
My questions are:
-Can I flash via odin, any european 5.0 oficial kdz ROM of N9005 16GB, to update my phone, without any problem?
-If yes, I only need a correspondent .pit file, and the rom?
-There will not be any issues like loosing IMEI, or no network ou something like that?
I want to stay on an original ROM with all Samsung features, without root.
Thank you!

Hi. Tks for helping. So my CSC Code is TGY. I can Install any 5.0 TGY rom for N9005?
I have 3 TGY 5.0 Rom's available. Don't need the .pit file, just flash and should be ok without imei problems or network problems?
Or should I make a backup of something first?

Yes, you can. Always is good:
1. Copy all the internal memory folders to your pc.
2. Make a backup of your EFS folder with this APP to your pc too.
3. It's better flash with ODIN the latest firmware for your device. It's this ONE . You don't need pit file and you don't gona have problems with IMEI or signal if your device is totally original. The update don't make factory reset (like in the pic attached).

Hi all,
I'm getting ready to downgrade from PG1 to PD3 and I'm hoping somebody can give me a little help. I've downloaded all the files, but I don't know which ones do I need to flash?
There's AP, BL, CP, and 2 CSC files.
I've read that the HOME_CSC file won't erase my data, but the other one will.
Do I need to flash all of them to downgrade?
Is there any danger in doing this?
And do I need to do a factory wipe/reset when I do this?
The samsung tech at my local bestbuy reflashed the latest (PG1) update on my phone but it hasn't fixed my bluetooth issues. I'm trying this as a last ditch effort before replacing the phone itself.
Thanks for any help,

Flash back to the G935F ROM of your region, and take your phone over to a repair store, give them the IMEI of your phone and the S/N (they'll be written on the box), and tell them to re-flash them. It seems your EFS partition has gone corrupt, when you flashed the wrong file.
I know how you feel, I did the same thing with a phone of mine once, I felt like crap afterwards, don't worry about it. This kinda sh*t happens to all of us. Just be glad nothing else happened and the other hardware still functions correctly.
Good luck bro, and be more careful next time when flashing.

Technically you can fix it, but you'd require some specialist tools that cost a somewhat hefty amount and usually the only people who keep them are phone repair stores.
No matter how much of an expert one can be, without an EFS backup, you can't restore your IMEI. In older phones like the GS4, if your IMEI was wiped with a bad flash, flashing the modem twice and doing a hard reset would bring it back, unfortunately it's not that easy now.
Anyway, mistakes happen bro. Don't worry too much about it. It's annoying to go to a phone store, but just remember, it'll be a lesson in the future for us all. Always make a backup before flashing, anything goes wrong, restore the backup and you'll be safe.
Samsung service center will be able to see that KNOX is void and it's 0x1, so they might charge extra.
For ordinary phone repair or software specialist stores, they won't really care whether it's rooted or not, they'll just use their tool to flash the IMEI and S/N back to your phone.
How to get rid of "Ramadan" and Hijri on calendar? SM-G950FD Dual Sim version
EDIT- See last post on page 3 by me. Solution found, and samsung pay also working.
Hello, I got my new S8 dual sim version from ebay today, was shipped from texas, but is the dual sim "DUOS" international version. The calendar app has the orange Ramadan line through it and "Hijri" in the settings. Is there any way at all to get rid of this?
I'm not sure if there is a different OEM rom I can flash in ODIN that would get rid of this. I definitely don't want it in my calendar, along with some different dates I'm not aware of that also show up. I googled it and looks like muslim dates.
I've read that SM-G950F roms are compatible, but what about odin flashing F roms and not FD? Would this solve the problem somehow if there is no other work around?

That doesn't work though. You can press on it, shows the date individually, event is there but clicking on it does nothing. Also as far I can tell no way to get rid of the muslim calendar dates also. I want to keep it OEM for now, no root, is there any other international variant OEM rom to flash?

You can choose what calendar sources you want (google, celebrations, facebook etc.) All of them are on by default. You just have to find it in the calendar app and disable that calendar. It is celebrations calendar for sure.
I don't know. I'm thinking it's baked into the ROM for real now. I googled this also and it seems the S7 had the issue also on international variants. But there were some work arounds I think. I tried unselecting all the different calendars. There is none that states celebrations on here.

You can flash any firmware (using Odin) from the F version to the FD one with absolutely no issue.
Edit: If you are scared to flash an F firmware, you can flash the Russian one (from the FD) and it wont have any of that "bloatware"

That should do
You can remove the russian keyboard very easily (it is like if you flash a Greek or Italian OS, no big deal)
But be aware. In order to avoid the EGY CSC, you shouldnt have a SIM card while booting for the first time and you should probably use a .pit file
Last but not least, use SamFirm to download the whole firmware (Here) and make sure that you tick the Binary Nature selection on the app (that way, you will get 5 files instead of one and you can completely remove the EGY csc)

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the EGY CSC. What is this exactly? Under software information I see under service provider is EGY/EGY/EGY. I do have straight talk up and running just fine on my S8 using the ATT network, everything works as it should right now.
I'll be sure to have my SIM card removed when flashing in odin and rebooting the 1st time. As of right now, I'm downloading the file from sammobile, the zip file which they say to extract and flash in odin.
I checked that link you sent and found the russian one with the SER region selected and clicked binary nature. So should I not flash the file from Sammobile with odin and use the the link you sent instead?
The tool downloaded the 5 files you said, I have a HOME_CSC file, CSS_OXM... , CP, BL, and AP files. They are all md5 files. So you're saying I should flash these in odin instead of the single file from Sammobile?
Im good at rooting phones and stuff, but only when following guides. The "behind the scenes" stuff I'm not good at since I don't program. This one I'm not rooting right away, just want to do this to try and get rid of the egypt stuff and muslim calendar things.
Heres what I have. It shows 4 places to flash though. The AP, BL, and CP seem straightforward using the files downloaded, but which one of the top 2 files goes in the CSC part?

The single file from Sammobile wont help you to remove all the muslim stuff from your phone. On the other hand, a 5-"pack" firmware will debloat your phone completely.
Just put the BL file to the BL option in Odin
AP file to AP option
CP file to CP option
and CSC (NOT HOME_CSC) at the CSC file
Also make sure that you have "extracted" from the CSC .tar.md5 the pit (Just open it with WinRaR and extract the .pit file)
After doing that, open the pit section on the Odin and selete the pit file that you just extracted

Thank you. This all worked perfectly. Did every option. Phone is back up and running just fine, Latest software and security patches are installed.
Sadly, the ramadan and muslim dates are still there, still shows EGY under service provider SW version. I guess I'll just have to accept this and can't get rid of it.

I'm glad that your phone works but I still cannot understand why it didnt change
If you get your hands on a european sim, then you will be able to get rid of the muslim dates etc

Hello t-shock I'm hoping you'll see this, but I ordered me a Russian Sim card on ebay so I can change to the SER hopefully. Would I follow the same steps again? You did say make sure not to have my Sim card in when booting for the first time, but wouldn't I want to have it in so it can read it and hopefully change? Since when I did it with no Sim cars inserted, it didn't change. Now I'm trying to change my csc to get Samsung pay to work, and it looks like it should on Russian phones since its been released there.
I've tried everything else and I can't even pull up the multi csc menu, even though it shows EGY should be part of the multi csc pack.

Hi
Put the Sim on the phone and repeat the step that I have said.
But make sure that you use the pit file and also the csc (not home_csc)
Were you able to get rid of EGY? I'm in the same boat.
I think you should flash multi-CSC firmware that contains CSC you want to get. I have NEE/NEE/XSG, no muslim stuff. OXM firmware.
As I have had same satuition. EGY is included in Multi-CSC OXM, you can't change CSC by odin flashing another Multi-CSC OXM firmware.
I tried flash VD2(Germany Vodafone) then it became VD2/VD2/EGY but if I flash other CSC included in Multi-CSC OXM, it go back to EGY/EGY/EGY. I'm gonna just root my phone now.
I got my phone from Dubai, inserted finnish SIM card and turned on the phone. It automatically changed CSCs to NEE, which is correct for me.

I'm waiting on my Russian Sim card to come in the mail, then I will try to change to the SER csc, which Samsung pay should work for. Hoping it changes. Apparently from reading above, if you have a multi csc like the EGY I have, you can't flash another one. That's why when I initially flashed the SER csc through Odin, in a multi part file, it didn't change. HOPING it will change when I get my Russian Sim card.

Can you clarify please? I'm assuming you had EGY csc also. Is that why when I flash SER csc (Russian) it didn't change anything? But VD2 is not multi csc package and that's why it changed? I don't really care what firmware I'm on now as long Samsung pay will work and it doesn't have all the bloat ware. I was told Russian software has some of the least bloat. Will changing my Sim card change the csc?
I read that I can install the firmeware of sm-935U in my sm-935V, but when i enter in sammobile page ,there is a huge list of 935U firmeware, wich of those do i have to select to work fine in my phone
If you look at the numbers they are all the same.
Just be sure to flash the CSC fine and not the Home_CSC one when changing the firmware. Remove all the google users first too. All your apps will be deleted.

How do I know whic CSC im downloading , cause there is only 2 options, PDA and CSS, and the other doubt I have, wich version of odin is usefull to install the rom?
It's just one zip file. Get the latest one (from 04/2019)... like this one for PDA G935UUES9CSC2 and CSC G935UOYM9CSC2:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935U/VZW/download/G935UUES9CSC2/265864/
Extract before using Odin.

I did a similar flash but didn't remove google users. The factory reset protection messages appeared, I entered credentials, and things started reloading. What else did the factory reset protection do that I don't what it to do?
