Possible root?

This method is for the chinse version of our phones... but i figured they are snapdragon so there components are their same? I know tmobile and sprint have the same parts and everything so maybe this will work. Its a recovery file and i will be trying it as soon as possible.

Yea I remember with the S6 the Chinese twrp worked on Sprint devices

Unfortunately the problem with the S7 is the root method.

No luck. I will continue to research for a foreign root if possible. I can confirm this doesnt work. Im not a dev i just do research

I`ve downloaded this from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935F/ the U.K version of android 7 and uploaded to google drive for you guys to download it faster. Because it took me 3-4 hours to download it because i can`t afford paying on that website.

you will still have that simcard manager thing. like I said they both use the exact same firmware. only on custom roms sometimes the creator removes that manager thing because he assumes no one with a fd will use his rom. but official roms always have it.

You can download from Samfirmware at full speed using Samfirm 0.3.6 with no login needed. Search for it on XDA.

Nope, it doesn't work. You just need to wait for your carrier to update to nougat for VoLTE etc.

Hello, I've decided to post this after unsuccessfully finding any information about the g935u. Everything I find is about flashing the u firmware to other devices. I would like to start a gathering of people to share links, files, ideas about this phone and it's potential with "more stable rooting methods that don't use Eng and possible bootloader unlock" I haven't been active with xda since note 3 so please excuse my inability to search and post correctly. This phone would be so much better unlocked, maybe we could start a petition or a bounty? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm holding out hope for something better for our phones. Im still on PG9 with Aug 16th security patch 3.18.20-7856276-eng. I remember waiting over a year just for root for my sm-n900a when geohot came in and owned the phone within a few days of trying lol

Yeah, that's the only rom so far and there won't be any until they're able to unlock the bootloader.

I just got Verizon Galaxy S7, model number SM-G930V, as i have problem with mobile data, i just wonder can i use other official rom apart from 930V?
All suggestion are welcome.

You can flash G930U rom through odin. By the way what problem are you facing?

I can get mobile data on Hong Kong sim card. BTW what is different between U and V rom ? Thank you in advance

Could you also say what is the purpose of the userdata? I have never flashed it in any update so curious as to its function?
