Hi all,
I'd like to share a simple way to play video files with super volume boost *(max audio output) without root etc.
1. Download and install tubemate 7.04 latest apk (google for it)
2. In tubemate go to preferences and select play internal player, it will be selected , don't change it.
3. Now download any video from youtube.
4. There are two panels one with left side , where you will find your downloaded videos.
5. Downloaded videos will be saved internal memory - /0/videos.
6. Now open play music and go to settings - equilzer and enable it , you can change equilizer settings if you want.
7. Now play any video file , which you have downloaded in tubemate. , Remember play file in tubemate application, if you selected play thru internal player it will not ask anything and will start playing file directly from tubemate applications internal player.
8. If it ask you for player to choose, you need to recheck and select play thru internal player and if not your video will start immediately.
9. Now feel the difference with max possible audio output of your MI MAX.
10. Apart from downloaded videos in tubemate , you want to play other video files, just paste them into tubemate default download folder ie 0/video. If your pasted files dont show there just refresh via refresh option in tubemate.
Don't forget to disable mi sound enhancer in setting - sound and vibrations - audio settings.

They said, streaming videos, music and pictures could not be done via the OTG (ON THE GO)
the only way this could be done, is saving the media to your device 1st, using up your storage
which can be a bummer.
I will explain the how's
1. First make as sure you are rooted!!
2. Download and install from Google play these files: bubble upnp, nexus media launcher,
MX player (only if streaming to other another android device).
3. Download Lucky Patcher link at bottom of page
4. Open Lucky Patcher, hold down nexus media explorer. Menu appears.
Click, open menu of patches
Click change permissions and activities
I had clicked on save original signature, up to you
Click write external storage and read external storage, then reboot.
Once rebooted, click nexus media explorer or connect your otg cable (auto startup) select media, click play at top then you get.
Use bubble upnp, and hey presto.
If it doesn't stream make sure to set the device rendering, in bubble upnp to stream to your device (not local render). And keep library to local media server
Many thanks for your views.
Lucky patcher download, also do an update

Why not use 'stick mount' and 'ES file explorer'
Plug in OTG, select mount, in ES find the file and play it.
Am I missing something or does your method allow something more?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Hi
I have u torrent on my Nexus 7. I can download the torrents fine but I come to open the file I cannot play it.I have VLC player which starts up and then goes off straight away. I have also downloaded MX player which says it can't play the video when I try it this way. Can any body help me please, I have now tried 3 different videos and can't watch any?
just to double check...
i don't mean to sound crazy...
but, you're not trying to play the actual torrent file are you?
that file is used solely to direct the file to your device.
once you have the torrented media file downloaded...say, the actual movie or song...with a file ext that ends in .avi, .mpg or .mkv can you use those two applications to play them.
otherwise, you have an incomplete or corrupt media file.
those 2 mentioned players...vlc/mx open just about everything pretty well.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure the downloaded files on utorrent are - DVD rip xvid-LTRG. I click on this in utorrent and then it asks me how I would like to open their file where I can then select one of the players. Is this wrong? I have also tried opening the player first to see if I can open the film that way but there is no file to open?
Thanks for the help.
Yesterday I received the kitkat update. I installed it with no problems. The problem I have now is the Play Music app. Songs that used to play no longer play, I get Music playback error, Couldn't play the track you requested. This is happening to alot of my songs. If I go to the file manager, music file and select the song to play and choose Google Play Music, the song will play. But wont play on my playlist or if I try to play from within the app? Any ideas????
I've got the same problem. "Music Playback error" from Google Music app, and "Error playing the track" using MixZing Music Player.
Looks like an OS problem, not a problem with the player.
Solution 1. Go to settings > apps > Google Play Music > Clear cache and data.
Solution 2. Uninstall the Music app. If you cant; use es explorer and delete it from the system folder (root permission is required) make sure you are rooted.. Reboot your device and reinstall from the Playstore.
Solution 3. Try deleting all the songs and re-copy them.
I copied some music on the phone, I can see the folder and every song if I search them in ES File Explorer, and even play them with the built-in music player in ES, but I can't play any music with the default music player, it says that there's no files.
The default file browser also can't see the music, more specifically if I look for it in the "all files" I can find it and even play the music, but in the music section of the file browser it says that there's 0 file, here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/CNCnQD9.png (it's not in English, but I think it's pretty straight-forward which one is the music).
How could I fix this?
Hello friends. As we all know the Xiaomi Mi A1 does not come with most of the features of Miui. Some applications, either are missing, or are very limited.
My question is: What are the best options to replace applications such as music player, video player, contacts calendar, file manager (with option to hide file folders) and image gallery?
Google apps do the thing for me. They are great. But I use Retro Music Player as a music player and Files Go as file manager.
That's the whole point of an Android One device - you can use your favourites apps !!
My favourite Galley app is Simple Gallery by far - and any of their other apps too. File manager = an old version of ES File explorer, but the Xiaomi version is getting more use now, Music player = Poweramp, video player = vlc, Photo editor, etc
