Hi, I am having some trouble rooting my device and a friend suggested I try here. : ) I have tried using several programs on my own, which probably wasn't the best way to go about it since I'm not particularly technically savvy. My attempts to use KingRoot, Kingo ROOT, and towelroot were futile. They all resulted in a similar message being that my device isn't supported or something like that. I am hoping there is some other quick and simple way to root my phone without a custom recovery or anything along those lines. I don't know about all these sorts of things and don't want to try anything too complex. I also want to try and root my phone without voiding my warranty if possible, but I know it's not likely. I am hoping someone can help me find an easy solution. It would be much appreciated. : )
My Device: Samsung Galaxy s5
Model number: SM-G900V
Version: 6.0.1

i am also looking for a method to gain root, unlock bootloader, debloat, and unlock network.
unfortunately it seems developers have not bothered to work on android 6.0+ marshmallow for the galaxy s5.
after all the phone is now almost 3 years old now and they're likely spending their efforts to work on newer phones and devices.
Already tried CF-AutoRoot? its in developing thread, works in mm
The Verizon S5 has its own dedicated forum. Check there.
I own an Samsung S5 Prime (SM-G906L) running on Android 6.0.1. At its age, yes it still works quite fast(S805+3gb ram).
Is there any way to unlock its bootloader? I can't literally do anything with it. I was planning to root and install a custom rom.
may want to check these types of threads out, I dont own this device nor have i played with it, but maybe some good info can be found here for you
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-stable-smooth-deodex-t3388014
I tried rooting the phone using cf auto root, etc but I came across some info that in order to root and install a custom rom, bootloader should be unlocked. And the thing is, I can't find any way to unlock it. It's really frustrating.
Up need this rn

Devices with a 7 at the end are usually carrier branded and often have locked bootloaders so not rootable.
However there is a roundabout way to achieve root depending how much you need it?
Is it possible to root this device ? or impossible ??

Hello,
I am new in this community. I have a Samsung grand prime sm-g531h. I recently rooted the device successfully. Now I wanted to know that is it possible to upgrade my android version to 9 or 8? How will I do that? Is there any problem if I do so?
I don't have experience in this matter. Please help me!

Looks like you've already been on a quest for compatible ROMs by posting "works on SM G531H?" in several threads last year (try to avoid multi-posting). No luck so far? Judging by the very limited search I've done it doesn't look very good for your device, does it? I've also noticed that this device still has a button on the chin! Maybe it's time for a chinbuttonless upgrade? Not discouraging the quest for upgrading old devices though! Definitely applauding that but sometimes it's just a dead end. I hope someone else can provide better news.
