Is it safe to delete external twrp backup mm? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Now that I am running AOKP 7.1.1 I think my initial backup of my just rooted a7 (mm) is no longer useful. If I needed a backup I could use something from the 7.xx version.
Is that logical?

TWRP Nandroid Restore problem

Hi all,
I have a KLTE Galaxy S5 G900i.
I successfully upgraded it to MM, rooted and installed TWRP 3.0.2.2 test2.
Prior to doing this, I made a nandroid backup of the previous Lollipop OS using TWRP 3.0.0.0.
I need to restore this backup temporarily, but when I do, it bootloops.
Do I need to Odin Flash TWRP 3.0.0.0 before restoring the nandroid backup? Do I need to wipe/format any partitions?
Thanks,
Donald.
Any custom roms are still using lollipop bootloader. You can Odin back in the meantime

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure what you mean??
Odin back??
Cyanogenmod are still using lollipop file systems and marshmallows are completely new. There a few carriers are still on the rollout once that's done cyanogen will merge the latest bootloader to their roms. To answer your question you need a stock 5.1.1 from sammobile and flash through Odin and root.

Odin stuck on flashing system.img

I am not rooted,Knox 0x0, I had nougat beta and wanted to revert to MM. I erased my S7edge to factory setting, booted back to Nougat, rebooted to download mode.
Smart switch recovery option doesn't work
The same problem with nougat beta or 6.0.1
Need help

Use smartswitch and let it update your phone. It will install the latest MM stock rom

I reverted from nougat beta to stock mm. It works.
Your firmware might be broken or your odin might be of older version.
Try downloading both again from sammobile.com
It will work
Did it work for you? I am having the same problem. Odin is stuck at system.img. OEM unlock is off and so is usb debuggin i guess.

Update to 5.0 without losing root?

So as the title says. What's the correct process for 2015 16gb model please?

6p 7.1.2 update installation problem

Hi, I'm running stock Android 7.1.1 (N4F26O) on my rooted Nexus 6p with twrp installed. I just got the android 7.1.2 (NPF05F) Beta update. I tried installing it with flashfire. Flashfire kept stopping at 7%. Is there any way I can install the update without losing root
Sorry for bad english.

Same here. Mine crashes while uncrypting at 22%.
I am also experiencing this issue.
Try removing root, go back to a completely stock rom - wait for 7.1.2 then download it. Let the phone update to 7.1.2 without using flash fire.

Obviously that will work. But we aren't trying to lose the ROM, kernel, recovery, root for a beta

Everyone needs to calm down and wait! If you are not willing to go back to a full stock build, just wait until someone creates a flashable zip version. This is nothing new here. Factory ota's rarely if ever are comparable with aftermarket kernels, recoverys or root.

Help with nougat update

I'm on a stock rooted s7 6.0.1 build version PE1. I have not been able to take any ota updates because anytime I click on the system update in settings, it freezes and closes the settings app. Is there a way to update to nougat with odin? Do I need to do a factory reset? Will I lose root?

FYI, anytime you are running a rooted phone, you're going to loose OTA system updates.
Tapatalk for Android - Works awesome on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
Thanks, update went through.
