Hi,
Since yesterday my phone suddenly started to charge very slow. It can take now more than 3 hours and Ampere app is showing 450mA no matter which cable / charger I use. By using the same cable / charger on a different phone there is no problem. Before this incident Ampere was showing around 1000mA, and it took around an hour for full charge.
Unfortunately, 2 things happend prior to this problem:
1. I tried to flash to the latest AICP ROM, and then to Lineage OS and then back to AICP (10 Feb release). In the last year before the upgrade I used AICP (Android 6).
2. My phone was falling down while charging from about 1.5 meters straight on the mini USB connector. As a result the cable connector bent and stopped working properly. But seems like the phone charging continue to work smoothly since then - the only problem its so slow.
Can any of these be related to the problem? Any idea?
Thanks!
if cable is damaged it will cause slow charging or will not charge at all

My friend gave me a black berry charger which has always worked for me in stock, cm 7.0, 7.03 but sometimes I have issues with 7.1
I either charge my nook via the official adaptor, a usb cable on my computer or via this bb adaptor at work that has always worked in the past.
But a few times I've left in charging all day at work and then it's in SOD mode. Usually I hold down the button and reboot the nook and it's fine. However the last time it completely drained my battery (even though it was plugged in all day at work) and couldn't get it working again until I charged it with the official charger.
Usually the official charger takes roughly 3 hours for a full charge, trickle charge via usb or this cable takes about 8 hrs. But I've left it plugged in at work and sometimes even after all day it's only 50 % charged and will never seem to reach full charge until I charge it at home with the official charger.
Again, never had the issues prior to 7.1. I've read about the SOD and always considered myself lucky that I never had any SOD issues, but now it seems 7.1 and this charger causes issues, but only sometimes.
Anyone else encounter that?
oh yeah. with my nook charger, though. until I added the patch, I had to turn the screen off before I plugged in the AC adapter, or else it would just turn off. the patch helped immensely, and I also had no issues when I was running the mirage kang. if antone can find/ make a Pdroid patch for the Mirage ROM, I would be set.
I've had a couple of spontaneous battery drains - once when plugged in. They only happened when I was using a live wallpaper so I always chalked it up to that. I've yet to apply any SOD patch, although I am running the latest nightly 253, so if they rolled anything into that I have it.
So we've been combatting some finicky charging issues with my wife's new S5 for the past week.
I've worked out a lot of the weirdness due to the fact that my HTC M8's charging brick apparently doesn't work with anything other than the M8 (I have no idea yet what is different about it... 1.5A).
Anyway, despite this we have had no issues using the supplied charger/cable (only used it on first day).
We haven't had any issues using an old Droid 2 charger and cable (1.0 A I think)...although likely it was a slow charge.
But, since we've been out of town for a few days without all our cables, the only think that has worked with NO issue is using a 2.1A output power brick to recharge the phone. Also, it seems that the 2.1A iPad charger worked as well.
What is weird is we also tried 2 identical 1A iPhone charges. Upon first plugin with a 10' 24/28AWG cable, it didn't charge. I removed it and plugged it into the other one and it began charging. I then removed it and plugged it back in the first and it started to charge fine (and yes, I tripled check the connection on the first try).
In short, we seem to just have very strange results. Sometimes it will say it is charging for a few seconds and then stop and sometimes it will not charge using a certain combination, but when you unplug it, try something else, then back to the first it will work!
We've also had issues with the charger in the car where it would keep blinking her phone on and off with a sound. I suspect that this was due to a slow charge bringing the phone to full charge, then dropping (even though plugged in), then going back to full again. But this is just based on what my wife described.
Can anyone explain and/or tell me what the minimum required and the recommended specifications are for a charger/cable on this phone?
I don't know about you guys, but charging my P7000 is a struggle. Literally, it takes on average 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% with the stock charger. I tried many different chargers (Samsung 2.0A, Aukey Quick Charger, Asus VivoTab 8 Charger) and they are all amazingly slow (usually even slower than the stock one).
Could anyone figure out how to charge this phone faster? It drives me crazy to take this long to charge!!!
Thank you.

Hi there!
Your problem is not a weird one my friend! I have 2 chargers: the telephone one (which sucks, unfortunately) and a huawei ascend's.
At first my elephone charger worked fine and charged my phone in 3 hours. Same with the huawei.
My telephone charger though sucks because it broke after little use (mine lasted 2 months, my gf's only 1 day and a friend's less than a month and I doubt we are the only ones with that problem).
Please try a few things to determine where you stand here:
1) charge it with another USB cable (successfully tested on another telephone)
2) charge it on a successfully tested plug.
3) if you're using an adapter, try another adapter.
If nothing there changes your battery charging time consider testing your hardware pasting this code on your phone: *#*#33#*#*
Try the charging setting and if it gives you trouble send it back for another device
I can testify the phone charges in 3 hours with the telephone or huawei ascend charger when they all work fine, but the elphone chargers and USB cables are aweful, they brake easily and the USB port on the charger loosens very quickly which doubles or triples your charging time.
Recently my OP2 doesn't seem to charge properly. Meaning...with the USB cord connected to the base it charges for a min then stops. The light stays on as if it's charging but it's not. I have to unplug it and plus it back in and it's fine for a few min then it stops and I have to do it again. This just started happening. I haven't dropped it or anything. The charge port is fine. Anybody else have this problem or HAD this problem...any info would help...
I have this exact same problem with my less than a week old OPT. I think its the charging cable gone bad. Using Ampere to check the charging current, I find that it never goes over 200ma and after about a minute (or lesser) disconnects because the software cuts it off when the current is too low. For now, charging with the phone turned off works, since no software to cut off the charger, but I do not know if this is bad for the battery. I am trying to find another Type C cable now, see if I can confirm this. Will post back if I do.
UPDATE: Was the cable. Friend's xiaomi cable worked perfectly and charged my phone back to 100% while I had dinner. Amazon is giving me a free replacement, so not complaing too much ...
****** Fast Charging Seems to be working now. But is very inconsistent. ***********
Fast charging was working and now it stopped. I have 2 OEM cables and chargers. Sometimes it works and then it will stop. This has happened on multiple ROMS . So far I have toggled the fast charging switch, rebooted, cleared dalvik cache/cache with no success. Any ideas? Currently running Gold Eagle Code MRA. I would put this in the thread for that rom but this has happened on multiple roms where fast charging stops working. Its not even charging normally very fast. Calculates 4 hours and 20 minutes until full from 30% charge.. Please note that Wireless charging seems to be OK (I think) It calculates about 2 hours charge time from 30% charge

Could be that the charging port contacts are dirty, you can Use alcohol to clean them. If after that you still have issues then it's probably the port itself.
I had this issue as well and both times it was the cable. I bought an after market one from Ebay and it's never missed a beat.
If the USB connector isn't fully inserted into the charger and the data pins don't make contact, it won't negotiate fast charging.
It's a common issue regarding the charging flex cable. I've had mine replaced under warranty for same problem.
