Sprint S6 Edge+ on Tmobile - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Sprint S6 Edge + that has been unlocked and I'm using it on a Tmobile network. Is there a way to load the stock Tmobile firmware on this phone to essentially make it a Tmobile phone instead of Sprint?
It is a stock SM-G928P, running stock Android 6.0.1
Thanks.

Why did you not but tmobile ?? in the first place[emoji12]

I am being very logical if you had bought tmobile in the first placr you would not face any issue because even if you succeed in flashing tmobile firmware on sprint phone[emoji23]
U will face issues that is 100℅ true

Oh, the time travel paradox. I haven't brushed up on my Robert Heinlein lately, but if I remember correctly, it was something like...... If I had bought a Tmobile phone in the first place, I wouldn't have this problem, but I didn't, so I must go back to a time where this Sprint phone does not exist in my current personal multiverse and instead I choose to buy a Tmobile phone thereby eliminating my need to find assistance in the form of a helpful answer to my question. But I have to assume that I'm never able to travel back in time where your answer would apply, otherwise I wouldn't be typing this message, because the problem would have solved itself before ever existing. Got it! Let me stuff some banana peels into my flux capacitor and see how quickly I can generate the required 1.21 Jigawatts.
In the meantime, any Non Marty McFly's that might be able to share any working knowledge of a solution?
Thank you much.

Removing all jokes you can try to flash tmobile firmware and try on your sprint phone the phone theoretically should boot but since very few ppl use carrier much about sprint and tmobile bootloaders and modems are unknown so they are either similar or very different [emoji29] this is why many devs don't support carrier models of Samsung because of all this **** so all i or i am sure of it anyone would say is try and hope you can have basic functions working if that happens then if some bugs exist you can ask devs who by the way work in their free time to help you fix it
Primary suggestion is still sell sprint and buy tmobile phone i am actually serious
Or download g928t latest firmware from sammmobile flashing instructions are provided on download page download programs which they say are needed and see the video of how to install there is everything mentioned in detail but dont come complaining if phone does not boot

Thanks for the helpful suggestion. That's about what I was thinking. My biggest concern is that I flash the Tmobile rom, it doesn't work and I can't flash it back. If I was sure I could still flash back to stock Sprint as a last resort, I'd be more comfortable taking the chance. Admittedly, I was surprised that the phone would unlock for Tmobile in the first place. For the longest time it was either CDMA or GSM and not both, so this is a new one for me.

Adventures in trying to get Phone calls

So, after having the tab for a day and a half, was getting twitchy on making phone calls.
I want that Phone icon on the screen!
So, after rooting (uber easy actually, z4root works a treat), got adbWireless to enable me to connect and got a shell.
Bit of juggling, mounting the /system and pushing in the Phone.apk's.
I've tried a whole bunch of Phone.apk's from anywhere I can find them basically, and still no joy as of yet.
In fact, getting a few errors now in a few places (PhoneInfo and TabletInformation errors).
Makes sense it's not trivial as we'd have seen something already probably.
And don't know if it's the phone.apk or the radio being used that's set to block.
How's everyone else getting on?
Thanks a lot for posting... I am anxious to see if we can do this... a friend of mine thought this would be a simple "install the phone apk" but we found that didn't work on Wednesday.
The only other one I've seen who's trying (publicly maybe?) is jdmadonna who posted his results over in the Tab Themes and Apps forum today that he rooted with z4root, then installed the phone.apk as you did, then the Tab started vibrating every few seconds and showed the message android phone has stopped working. When he rebooted, everything locked up apparently... he said he lost the network provider and baseband and could not bring them back, so he returned the tab. He had been looking for the Euro phone.apk, so I'm not sure if that's what he used here...
Guess it will not be as easy as we had hoped.... hopefully this nut can be cracked somehow.
Adding insult to injury is the Samsung T-Mobile user manual for the Tab which refers to it as a phone throughout! However, the pretty much useless pamphlet that T-Mo provides call it a "device."
Wish someone from Samsung would anonymously step in and help us out. The t-mo salesman I worked with (who was very helpful wrt to possibly using it as a phone) said he'd heard that some folks were/are? threatening a class-action lawsuit against the carriers... obviously a money maker for the lawyers... but I don't care... if it'd make them let us use it as a phone, that'd be fine with me.
Couldn't the carrier block phone access for the device by the IMEI number? Then it wouldn't matter what the user did, the tablet would never be able to make a call.
Here's what guyverunit had to say in this thread at post no. 52:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=832643&page=6
Someone else reported this too... when you press activate on the Verizon phones at the start, they MAKE CALLS OUT.... this is what he said:
"so knowing that Verizon was selling there version at Best Buy i popped in there today to check it out, see if there plans or anything were better. they had just taken it out of the box and were setting it up. i went to work and on my lunch went back. they had the display set up so i played with it. it was still at the activation screen, i pressed activate and behold it dialed out to do the activation. even had a phone icon in the top bar.
so i talked to the best buy mobile manager there and ask if they had gotten it passed the activation he said no but he would try again. he tried and it dialed out. i said oh so it can make calls, he said yes its just not put into the software to do it for the user end but yes, it can make calls. he also said he gives it two weeks till the DEV community hack it to do just that. LOL"
The t-mo phones do not make phone calls to activate... at least mine didn't... the sales guy activated it by using the bar code and the computer and no "activate screen" came up at all... went straight to browser.
Don't know if that means the phones themselves are different... or if Verizon just kept the Euro phone activation approach...
Maybe the Verizon phones would be the best ones to work with?

One of the Phone.apk' did that for me too. The Phone.apk I'm using now has stopped showing me the connection in the top bar, so looks like that's related to that as well, but at least it's not crashing like it was.
I should really reflash back to base (is that possible atm?) and see what's doable.
I'm still holding on for a euro rom that's flashable to enable everything.
Do you think the Euro rom will work with US hardware, or should they be identical?
I was curious about Paten's question re the IMEI no. possibly being blocked and did a little searching...
I found a freelance programmer's site... codepainters blog....
http://codepainters.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/android-imei-number-and-the-emulator/
and in the course of saying how to change the IMEI number, he says this at the beginning:
"Anyway, code analysis shows that IMEI/IMSI request goes down through all the telephony layers (see the diagram), eventually getting to the baseband device."
I find this interesting because jdmadonna and you describe the phone.apk causing problems down to the baseband level... as did you...
Obviously, IANAAD (I am not an Android developer - my programming days are way in the past)... so maybe there are myriad other things that can cause a problem down to the baseband level...
Maybe it's just as simple as unblocking the ISEI no. as Paten suggests...
I'm also hopeful about the Euro flash, but am not brave enough (nor do I know how) to do it!
You guys are using a different SIM from the one you received with your Tab right? (if you got it on a plan). One that you know voice calling works on?
In Australia, the Tab does not have voice disabled, but they force you (for the initial launch) to sign up for a data only plan. The SIM you get on this plan is blocked for voice, but works for 3G and even sending SMSs.
You just might want to make sure that the SIM you have in actually works for voice in case you DO get it working from a software perspective, but it is just the SIM that is stopping the call.
Aye, swapped the sim over from my other phone (though the PAYG sim I got actually did support voice/data apparently, but I didn't want to risk it so took a known working sim)
Phone.apk
Radio stuff
imei
Don't know. Could be any of them, or combo of 2 or more even.
It's really crazy. I appreciate they probably want to keep it simple as a tablet device, but they're missing out on revenue. "Want to use voice? that's available for another 10 bucks and/or a different(more expensive) sim"
Keeps it working for people who just want a tab, and gets more cash from people who want to dump their phone.
Think it's telling that ALL the telco's are limiting the voice as if anyone of them broke ranks and offered voice, they'd all have to.
Guess we'll see which Telco chickens out first!
/sigh
Re the SIM card... the holder mine came in does say data only, but the tmo rep said it could still handle voice.. seemed odd to me... since jyveafk has tried switching it, guess I'll wait to see if a solution turns up... or the tab is going back and I'm not getting a new phone when my contract's out in protest!

If you had followed your own advice (search and engage brain ), you would realize that they are talking about US Tabs, as the phone function has been disabled on these.
Euro Tabs have phone functionality as standard and the Yanks already know this so your post came over as a little sarcastic!

Any chance you can adb pull the Phone.apk from your Tab please?
I've been using the Galaxy phone .apk's, not another Tab's Phone that's known to work. Perhaps this is the issue.
Can you pull it and post it please?

Fascinate EB16 firmware?

http://twitter.com/#!/SamsungFUSNews/statuses/38172937131401217
Model: SCH-I500 | Code: USC | Version: SCH-I500USEB16/SCH-I500USEB16 | Date: 17.02.2011 14:09 | Size: 202,38 MB | ID: 1324135920
If someone could get firmware out from FUS server....
correct me if im wrong but isnt the us cellular mesmorize also the i500? and the code listed on twitter saying USC seems to indicate its not for us
(as someone who works on themes i dont think i can deal with porting to another tw build )
Yes, US Cellular (Code: USC) is the Mesmerize, and is also a SCH-I500. It isn't directly compatible with the Fascinate. They do list another I500, but with a code of XAR. I think this might be the Cellular South Showcase. I also believe it is like the Mesmerize in that it's not directly compatible with the Fascinate.
The code for Verizon is VZW.

I still personally believe they are all interchangable...just a matter of gettimg the settings right. My phone is running a verizon modem on a different carrier...
All of the mesmerize roms I've flashed booted just fine; its essentially the same hardware. The problems begin to arise when a different modem is used. In that sense its about as functional as a fascinate rom w/o phone or web capability.
In my case I found it to be a valuable tool in recovering from a brick. I always keep a stock mesmerize rom handy. It was the one thing that would flash and boot into recovery. From there odin could successfully flash a stock vzw i500 file and my phone worked again.
Lesson learned: don't touch the phone button in odin and read up every last bit of information available before taking similar risks.
That about sums up my experience with mesmerize roms.

But I think, regardless of the modem, it can be done. It's just a matter of using the correct configuration setup in qpst. For example, I'm using a Verizon modem on a completely different CDMA carrier. I just had to adjust the um and am in ppp config along with mob + simple bx in qpst and it works like a charm. So long as you have a functioning prl, it's just a matter of finding a tunnel for 3g. In other words, you would be using a flashed phone on US Cellular. I've used sprint phones on verizon, both sprint and verizon on cricket ect. It's just a matter of finding the right settings.
I was not aware this was possible. Interesting. Are there any advantages besides the obvious one of carrier choice?

I feel bad for US and Southwest Cellular users b/c of their lack of development capabilities so I was willing to look into it for them. As far as advantages, I've found ironically that some radios do enhance call quality, but having the correct prl is key. Our phones share identical hardware...only difference is the modem software. It's funny though no one has noticed it though, but often ppl will flash dl09 or eb01 modems and still get partial use, either data or call/text. It's obvious it's working, however since you're no longer on that previous radio, the settings would have to be adjusted. Honestly, if anyone is willing to try...I don't mind helping.

Verizon f'd up with me bigtime talkin about 197 a month for two fascinates ?! wtf ... and thats not even unlimited minutes, I have unlimited everything on both phones for 55$ a piece. with 3.13$ of tax, not 25$, the 3g is negligibly different from verizons, at a fraction of the cost. Voice and text actually come through more often for me, i wasn't getting calls etc when using verizon.
Two fascinates, Android plan, $113.13. My oldest daughter is born on 12/13/05 so the 13 doesn't bother me, it was actually a good sign, especially with a new baby on the way next month. Until I get this job, and can afford a 200$ phone bill (alone until she goes back to work) i'm going to stick with cricket. Good thing is, I can always go back to vzw, purchase a phone outright as an upgrade, and then flash that one back to cricket also now that I know how to

I actually really enjoy cricket. PRL hacking is easy with them, and they share towers with sprint anyways. The best part though is you're not limited to any specific phone or carrier. I can use any CDMA android I want.

That's correct. At least I think I did. I tried many bizarre combinations of tar files in just about every button in odin. I didn't know any better.
If it really is IMPOSSIBLE to recover from a phone flash then I don't know what to think anymore.

It's definitely possible to recover from that. Before we had modems to flash, it wasn't.

To summarize: every CDMA Galaxy S ROM will work as long as I do one of the following:
1) Install a Verizon I500 modem
-or-
2) Use the correct settings with the existing modem.
I wanted to install AOSP 2.2, and then replace the parts that didn't work from another ROM, but I was worried about this part. This information helps. Thank you.

I'd still save back ups incase you run into problems. But as long as you use a modem that is for an i500 it's a matter of finding the right settings. I'm trying to find one I can teenker with for the non verizon users.

i'm a showcase user and I flashed the EB16... the modem works Perfect? I guess you can say... last night i was getting very slow speeds using speedtest app, but today i've gotten the fastest speeds ever... So i think it may be just the fact that Cell South's network is so finicky.. I've always gotten different speed test even when i was stock, from 1 test to the next will be drastically different..
However the problems i've having with the ROM are:
GPS button will not turn on....
When you reboot you have to re log in to gmail/twitter/facebok
for some reason Exchange email stays logged in..
ADB won't give SU access because it says it's a production build..
It won't let me access the market..
I think it's the same problems for the mesmerize, and more than likely will be the case for the Fascinate..
But if we could all figure this out, then we could possibly have 1 ROM for all 3 phones making it simple to port themes/mods/etc...
I really wish some DEVS would help us out with this..

I believe it's def. doable. It's just a matter of trying to figure out a way for the roms to have universal settings. All I500's store their values for their network in the same location, hence the reason why qpst will register the phones as the same phone. The only thing I've noticed different is the modem and the way the rom reacts to the modem and those settings. For example, I am in the process of using kaos v5 and it has reset my connections. No 3g but talk and text. If I can figure out how the values are being pulled I can adjust the settings and we may be a step closer to having gingerbread on all three devices.

[Q] Taking xt907 to London - Advice.…?

Hello all,
I have an XT907, bootloader unlocked, running CM11 very well. I am planning to go to London for a week in February, and I would like to buy a micro sim to use while I am there. I have scoured the threads trying to make sense of the international/micro-sim situation, and I am totally lost. Here's what I need to know:
Can I take my phone to London, pop out my Verizon micro-sim, pop in an O2 sim and use it without making any other changes? (I did this a couple of years ago with a jail-broken iPhone and it worked beautifully...)
Sub-questions, which can be ignored if the simple answer is "yes": do I need to call Verizon to get them to unlock the phone?
Are there GSM issues, which I tend to ignore, since my carrier is Verizon, and, if there are, have they been patched in this rom?
Thanks in advance. Hoping somebody can answer.

Hello all,
I have an XT907, bootloader unlocked, running CM11 very well. I am planning to go to London for a week in February, and I would like to buy a micro sim to use while I am there. I have scoured the threads trying to make sense of the international/micro-sim situation, and I am totally lost. Here's what I need to know:

This may take care of all your needs. Use cwmr 6046 or philz 6079 only. Backup your current rom before doing anything.
Keep in mind that even these recoveries do not save all your partitions. Some partitions are only on your phone. /persist, /modem & /firmware are the most important ones NOT saved! Try it out. If you do not want to delve into RSD lite & PC only hacking, stop. All you need to restore our latest xml via RSD is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391641
Go

Subsitute the op's twrp bu: http://yadi.sk/d/oufUHo_F4Ehfh for Avst_ZaYAC_MODsmXBIN.cwmr.zip
You will restore it rather than install it.
And fit it into my other steps in Post 17
Using philz v 6097 cwmr, which will restore twrp format too.
I cannot recommend twrp anymore.
You will have full vzw 4g & I think the star of the setup, the droid razr widget should not break your 4g. more on DRW here You may need FireFox to get the translate link to work.
Do test it all out & save it w/ philz.
Messing with the "select radio band" (3 dot menu) with the hidden app "phone info" [also known as *#*#4636#*#* from the dialer] will break 4g /modem & result in 3g to 1x only. Feel free to do anything else from Phone Info.
Once a combination of partitions are broken RSD is the only fix.
Just restore to the ...94 xml and then the partitions not handled by our recoveries, get fixed and a restore via philz puts all right again [some from RSD & most from the recovery].
Latest Philz zip http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition

Wow. Thank you SO much for the detailed reply.
Unfortunately, all of this sounds very complicated to me-- I have never messed around with radios/modems, and really love the way my phone works, here, now, in the United States.
I take it that your one word answer is, "no, your phone will not work if you bring it to Europe and pop in a sim..."?
If so, given that I am only going once, for six days, I might just pull out that old iPhone and limp along with that.
Again, I am so grateful for the time you took to point me in the right direction. Sorry to be such a wimp.

Hm... I use Razr M on Europe (Ukraine) on GSM network and have no problems with my carrier even on stock-ROM
If you use AOSP-based ROM - just use this

Me and My GF just traveled through England over Xmas
My phone was on 4.4 by Dhacker Everything Worked up to 3G (Using Tmobile US, Tombile DE and NetzClub (O2))
My GF phone was on Latest Stock Everything Worked up to H+ (O2 and Tmobile DE) <--- But we had to do a GSM so it stopped Dropping Comnnecting.

I think this could be good news. I'm using CM11 nightly, which I think is not that different from Dhacker. All you did was pop in the microsim?
I really don't want to wreck my current phone, which works, just to get a few days of better phone service on vacation.

I will search for tutorials about flashing that baseband-- is it a simple enough process? Will it affect how my phone works on Verizon when I return?
Also, for others trying to figure this stuff out, I found this: http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android by one of the XDA members which is not exactly a "for dummies" tutorial but does begin to outline the issues.
Thanks to everyone for helping me.

She Gained that baseband by downloading the Stock Rom with that Baseband.
I have to get back to my home computer to get that link.
Its a Dev Site where u can download all the Stock roms for our Phone.
Oh my gosh!! I have that baseband already. Phew! One less thing on my "to do" list.
Okay, last question, I promise. I have read, and think I understand, the blog tutorial about enabling GSM. But it sounds from your post like I do not have to edit my build.prop at all, if I am running CM11 and have the baseband you mentioned. I apologize for repeating my question again and again, but I am a little slow.

In this Particular case you don't need to do that.
Enabeling GSM and Editing Build Prop is Mainly for Tmobile USA and AT&T or any USA GSM carrier.
But on some CM11 it may be required since it was not made for GSM, most newer ones are though.
That's where u look for the GSM Fix thing.
The only thing you May have to hunt down are the info for Data if it doesn't Auto install itself from the Euro SIM.
International SIM normally Require a PIN and it will Auto install a SIM app to correct its Data Settings.
Thanks! Based on your helpful clarification I will leave it alone.

[Q] Please Help! New S5 BRICKED!!

1.) Rooted S5 900V (Verizon Model) using towel root.
2.) Installed Safestrap Recovery.
All this went perfectly fine..
I forget exactly which ROM i tried to install but it boot looped my phone.
I need to know which ROMs i can use and which ones that i CANNOT,
Can i only use certain ROMs based off of which recovery i've installed?
What is ADB Side Load?
I want to ask all of these questions, no matter how noobish, so that i can write every single one of these things down in lamens terms for the average (or slightly below average) user.
If we understood what half of these options meant and would do we could do this stuff yourself and leave you guys alone so you can develop stuff for my Verizon S5 !!! lol
Not only that, but most of these ROM's come with ZERO instructions on how to install them properly. I mean i understand that if your flashing then you should have an underlying knowledge of what you doing but COME ON!!! BE smart about it. You take all that time to develop a decent ROM but don't but info on how to install it properly. WTF is the deal with that?
Also... Can i use Odin309 within Linux via Wine? I am trying to install the firmware i got from Sam's.
If you have a verizon S5, (SM-G900V) then you can only flash a rom, made by the devs here, for the 900V. If you try to flash a variants S5 rom, your phone will brick.
I always recommend that before somone flashes anything to their phone or tablet to do research on the subject. Read, and reread everything. Double check. Make sure you have everything you need.
Also, pretty much all of the devs have install instructions for their work in our phones dev section.
---------- Post added at 05:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:47 PM ----------
Also about your question about using odin within linux via wine, here are a few threads that aks the same thing.

Personally, I'd rather use a Windows PC. Less headaches that way. But thats just my opinion.

As of now, you can only use safestrap. Any of the current ROMs can be flashed by our current safestrap

Most? That's a bit harsh. Last I checked, most (if not all) of the ROM devs (including myself) provide thorough instructions. There is no "WTF deal".

No offense meant, but based on the questions you've asked I suggest you do more research before flashing anything on your phone.
The ROMs listed in this forum have pretty good install instruction for anyone who has a basic knowledge of what they are doing (err go the comment about doing more research).
Did you make a backup before you flashed the ROM you can't even remember the name of? What slot did you flash the ROM to?
It would be helpful if you could tell us what ROM you tried to flash and where you found it.
Always make a backup of your stock rom before flashing anything.
Thanks

I guess what i meant to say is that some information is just hard to locate. They keep the fancy art easy to see but the installation instructions you actually have to search for. I love the DEV's for there work, TRUST ME. Android wouldn't be Android without you guys.
I would like to get more involved in the XDA and AndroidForums to make a one stop shop for ALL of the popular devices. Basically, just gather up all pertinent information (after receiving permission from the dev) and put it in one nice and easy spot to read.

Yes. That is an excellent example of what i am wanting to do and I actually used it when i started reading up on my S5.The only thing is that it does not specify the Verizon 900V. So someone with any model phone could read that and brick their phone.
But i will want to go in to more detail such as exactly what the "NE9" is.. Is it an update? Firmware? What?
Regardless, i just want to add another page that has information that one that already exists, such as that one, may be missing.
There is WAY too much information about our phones to say that one page covers every single aspect of it.
I'm just wanting to help clearly state the information thats already out there. Alot of these people are already busy and cannot give 110% towards there pages.

I think we both know that one carriers phone could have compatible root/roms for others carrier's phones. Specifying the model name i would think would be the most appropriate way. You have to realize not everyone has been doing this for as long as you and does not necessarily have a keen eye for such things..
There is absolutely nothing wrong with over explaining things.
With that being said, i do believe that post is an extremely helpful page.
But discussing whether or not the page has enough information is not worth debating over.
When i find time to do my own then we can have this discussion.
I mentioned i wasn't exactly sure how i boot looped my. Still don't because I can't remember for the life of me which ROM it was! I thought i book marked it... Whichever one it was, it wanted me to flash 3-4 different zips once in SafeStrap. First ZIP is when the boot loop occuured.
ANYWAY...
I installed SafeStrap using the instructions found HERE.
I wanted to install THIS ONE because it had the KTweaker which is totally awesome toplay with but i dont think my 900-V allows sit.\\
BUT:
I want as many people's opinion as possible on this (I will create a separate thread). I have T-Mobile but was old a Verizon Phone. I have issues with dropped calls, slow speeds, among others. I want to know if this is legal.
Any and all are welcome to respond as i feel they should pay for making me pay $60 fora cab (Oneway) and then selling me a crap phone. Plus the wall charger didn't work. The data cable did so at least i had another wall charger.
In Case your Wondering... yes i do have the receipt.
THE BEST PART IS: T-Mobile said they've never heard of them when i called and gave them the address off of the receipt.
Honestly, i would like to go in there and walk out with another S5, maybe even with this one paid off, lol. But PLEASE ALL OPINIONS ARE WELCOME.

You need to seriously stop and do a lot more reading before you try anything else with your phone. The ROM you linked above that you said you want to flash is for the International version of the Galaxy S5 and will hard brick your phone. The forum where that ROM is posted (Samsung Galaxy S5) is for the International version. The US variants of the S5 are broken down by carrier. Hence this is the Verizon Galaxy S5 forum. You bought your phone from some fly-by-night place, and it turned out to be a Verizon variant when you needed a T-Mobile variant.
If you are going to keep the Verizon variant you bought and use it on T-Mobile, you will only get Edge speeds through T-Mobile and never get 4G speeds. It is legal to use a Verizon phone on T-Mobile's network, it just won't work as well as you have already experienced. You need to change the APNs on your phone to get the best performance you can on T-Mobile. But it's still not going to be as good as using the T-Mobile variant on the T-Mobile network. If you went into that store and specifically asked for a T-Mobile Galaxy S5 and they sold you a Verizon variant, they would have a problem. If you went into the store and simply bought the cheapest S5 they had without telling them you needed a T-Mobile variant, then that is completely legal on their part. You don't need to create a separate thread to get everyone's opinions on the legality of your purchase. What I said above pretty much sums it up.
Also, if you are planning on keeping the Verizon variant and want to flash a ROM through safestrap, the ROM you want to flash has to be of the same build as the current build on your phone. So if your S5 is on NHA, you should only flash an NHA based ROM in safestrap. Or if you phone is on NI2, an NI2 based ROM. So letting everyone know which build your phone currently has will help us let you know which ROMs are safe to flash on your phone.
Sorry if all of this comes across as harsh, but I'm trying to help prevent you from turning your phone into a useless paperweight. You seem very confused by a lot of the information found here in the forums, and that is a very good time to slow down, take your time, and make sure you understand what you are doing at every step.

You seem very confused by a lot of the information found here in the forums, and that is a very good time to slow down, take your time, and make sure you understand what you are doing at every step.

ALL of this information can be confusing and I doubt anyway one will deny that fact. The MAIN point is that i know how to fix it, right? This is why I eventually want to make a straight-forward thread about how to do things to which phone properly.
People learn from their mistakes.
I have been learning more and more as i go along but the fact i have T-Mobile service but a Verizon phone just added to the confusion.
Secondly i went in to a T-Mobile Store, so of course i wanted a T-Mobile phone, not a Verizon one. See, everyone makes stupid mistakes and misinterprets things

I didn't make a stupid mistake and misinterpret anything. Please show me where in your previous posts you wrote you went to a T-Mobile store. The only thing you wrote was you had the receipt and T-Mobile never heard of the store. Logical to assume you didn't go to a T-Mobile store from that description.
Yea. Whatever.

OK Your right, i didn't meantion it. You feel like your testosterone levels have increase now? Jesus.
From the moment you've replied to my posts you've had an attitude that is barely detectable.
Thanks for your help but you need to get out more and learn some people skills, dude. ****.
Look dude, we get it. You went and bought a new toy and couldnt wait to play with it. We're all guilty of that at some point. But blaming your mistakes on someone else, like when you blame the devs for not being straight forward with their roms, although with every example you have given here they really have been, all you need to do is read their posts, you'll get what your getting now. The only one you have to blame here is yourself. For not researching what you have first and just jumping into flashing a rom that was not developed for the phone you actually have. We tried to help you out and point you in the right direction but you decided to be the one with the attitude. Not landshark or my self. I think before you shell out advice on leaening people skills to someone else, you might want to practice what you preach first.

T-Mobile firmware to an Official Samsung

Hey Guys.
So I'm about to get a new S7 Edge from T-mobile tonight.
I understand there are several roms out there for different versions of the device, am I right?
Is there anyway I could get rid of the official T-mobile rom and install instead the official/international Samsung one, something without all the garbage of the carrier and that will be future update directly by Samsung?
Will appreciate any lead
Thanks Guys!
No root. No firmware. No fun for anyone. This is the new korean samsung. All that's missing is a high Hitler, and your set
I'm coming from the Nexus world, so I'm sorry in case I'm mixing between the definitions here.
I case I'm not looking to root, just load another system img on the device, instead of the crappy t-mobile one.
No way to do it right now?
Thanks again man.

That's one of the dumbest analogies I've ever seen.

No. Even with root, Samsung was never one to allow other firmwares on different models. If they existed, they were outliers and not the norm.

This is a very good guide to getting a more unbranded feel.
I would add that you can change your screen dpi through ADB (though the stock camera won't be full screen afterwards).
The US S7s are a special breed of S7s relative to the rest of the world, using Qualcomm rather than in-house chips and not having a bootloader unlock solution.
It might be possible to do more debranding (in the sprint S7E forum, they found a debrand function that may or may not work on t-mobile S7s to take off carrier customizations) but, assuming you are using t-mobile, you're better off using the package disabler than risk losing volte/video calls/wifi calling (the only reason to bother with a t-mobile S7 over international).

They are ODIN'ing different versions of the 935F firmware internationally to get Samsung Pay and other apps, but they have a different processor - so you would brick your device if you tried. You might be able to use US AT&T formware, but cannot see any reason to try.
There are also custom ROMs out for the 935F - but you have to be rooted to flash them, which is not possible hereon the 935T yet and my never be the way things are (not) going.
Got you all, thank you guys for the response!
For now, I disabled all Samsung and Tmo useless apps, and installed Google Now Launcher instead of Touch Wize.
Hopefully these steps will do the job for now.
Thanks again!
Nowadays phones don't need root they work very well out of the box. I understand the need for it (custom roms, etc...) but I haven't rooted a personal phone of mine in a while. Just disable what you don't wanna use and enjoy the phone.

I have a 935FD running on TMo and I sorely miss WiFi calling and VoLTE options
