I can't grant write access to my sd cardfrom any apps. I am hoping I am missing a setting. Here is the situation
In FX Exploerer you typically add sd card access through this screen
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Which takes you to this screen
Then you open the menu on the upper right and select your sd card, but as you can see in the shot below, it is not available
View attachment 4050817
There is also nothing available in the upper left menu
Does anyone have any tips in some settings I may be missing or any advice at all? Thank you for the help
Hello mate,
I would strongly suggest you two things:
1. Make sure your SD Card is MOUNTED
2. The most important...if you are using any Package Disabler for your phone, make sure that package "External Storage" is NOT DISABLED. Make sure that is enabled.
Hope it helps brah

I need to know where to look to grab this apk. I can't get it to install, and was wondering if I can just grab the completed download and try to install it without the market.
Thanks.

Try unmounting your SD card (in settings), before downloading from the Market.
They go in \sdcard\download, but they get called downloadfile-1.apk, downloadfile-2.apk etc. so you can't tell just by looking which is which. You can either look at the contents and figure it out, or use your noggin and look at the date/time.
Hope this helps

Got it. Thanks, this worked.
I have read on various Android blogs and facebook pages , People complaining that they can't see/access some of the files/folders of their Android Internal or SD storage when connected to PC via USB cable on MTP Mode. Most of the people using HTC Desire 820/820q/820u etc are facing this problem and many have asked for help on XDA and have been asked to install some sort of file manager or something else, yet they complained it didn't work for them.
What you need to do is Go to Settings > Apps > All apps > Search for Media Storage and External Storage > Clear data for both of them.
(You won't lose your personal data by the way)
Boom Now connect you device to PC and you can see all the folders.
Don't forget to hit Thanks button if this helped.:good:

error
did all the steps, now it says " this folder is empty" on my massive storage. what happened
My memory card today told me I was running low which I found odd.
Upon checking I noticed System Data was taking over 20GB of room.
Before using this memory card on this phone I formatted it as set it up for external use
I have been searching on google for a while and cant find any reason for this or how to fix it
Any ideas?
thanks

Found a fix
From your phone dialler, dial *#9900#
Tap on Delete dumpstate/logcat and it will show you dump result. Click okay and exit and reboot
Dial *#9900#
is working for some mobiles only.
Not for all. Others are still finding it difficult to get rid of insufficient memory message popping up when updating apps.
This problem is big and most users are suffering.
No other way than to format a mobile / factory reset.
*#9900# doesn't work on AOSP roms -.-
Edit:
Unplugging the MicroSD card, putting it into a Windows PC, and putting it back to Android changed the files. They showed up as Found.00 and i could delete them.

Then your device is not allowing you to move apps in your external storage, that happens with lots devices, that they are unable to move their apps, that's the reason people should use at least 64GB internal storage device, with 32 GB internal storage its not enough for apps

Go on developer options and scroll to the bottom until you see "force allow apps on external"
That should fix it
