Does Magisk / Systemless work with our root?

In short, Pokemon GO's new update is just taking a massive dump on it's rooted supporters and we can't play the game on the new update. Would our root be able to hide it and allow it to played on our phones with root, still?

Rooted s7 edge.... Pokémon go running strong. No issue. App is up to date.

Are you on the new update with the buddy system? Cause the update didn't full rollout yet...

Yeah I am, but I read somewhere that Magisk requires an unlocked bootloader, but I don't know if the Systemless portion is different.
Most people would say, forget the game, and keep root, but I'd like to keep both, as I've put a lot of time into the game to have this crappy company screw us like this...

If xposed and Pokémon is incredibly important to you I suggest trying the following. There's a work around for snap chat. Same scenario. You have to install and log into snap chat before installing xposed. Get it to build cache so it doesn't do the device check then install xposed. Profit. I'm not sure but it's worth a try.

I had it working then it ****ed my phone up couldn't get it again

The problem is that the new version of poGo is using the same SafetyNet check that Android Pay does to check for root.
Apparently, the only thing that works for this is Magisk (at the moment).

The latest Pokemon Go app is using SafetyNet checks, so this goes far beyond the Snapchat workarounds.

So the question is can we flash magisk with flashf ire?
Or would something like rootcloak possibly work?
More and more every day I hate niansh*t and it feels like it's no different than if crapple themselves have made the app.

Root Cloak won't work. I tried that on 2 different Samsung phones :/
I'm on tekx rom and when I tried to unroot via SU my s7 edge would only boot into recovery... so I restored a backup.
It's awefully silly to keep rooted users from playing. Seems like they run out of ideas to find GPS spoofers lol

^ New Pokemon Go update does not work with this root method - I have used rootcloak from xposed - also does not work. You need to root using MAGISK so here is my question.
1. How do I unroot my phone that I rooted using ODIN Chainfire-Auto-Root file?
2. How do I root S7 Edge SM-G935F using "MAGISK" so i can play pokemon go after this new update?
has anybody tried rooting S7 Edge SM-G935F using MAGISK method yet? does it work? please reply and please give a guide or step by step i am a newb

I'm afraid I have to tell you that over on reddit the developer of magisk said that Samsung devices are only supported if they're on a "custom" kernel.
Although I don't know at which point a kernel stops being stock :/

So... You're using the NEW version with the buddy Pokemon and able to use Xposed/Joystick as well and... actually login!?!?
If so... How did you do it?

I'm curious as well. I had to reflash back to stock due to bootlooping so I'm a little more interested in this subject now that the icy plunge or returning to stock has already been made.

That thread has a version of Xposed that worked on my device, regular Xposed bricked it and I had to adb install the uninstaller to get it working again.

Does gravitybox work on a regular s7 snapdragon with xtouchwize installed? I've read it causes boot loops, I'm worried since I can't use tworp to recover.

No it works I have both without any issues

I use all of these. So far so good. I have it had any problems. Not everything works flawlessly, like the Google Assistant Enabler doesn't work everytime I try to run it, but at least regular Google Now on TV opens up instead.

Snapchat uses Google SafetyNet. So if root is detected, snapchat will not work. Has nothing to do with the ROM. You didn't say which device you had, I make the same ROM for 4 phones. You can bypass safetynet using my kernel, if you also use rootswitch. You can read through the thread to see how to get it working. The tutorial is not for snapchat, it says android pay, and pokemon go, but it is the same for snapchat.

Ok, so you already have the kernel patch. All you need is the rootswitch apk, and the 2 scripts found in my H918 thread. Install rootswitch, put the 2 scripts in /data/ , reboot, launch root switch and disable root. Snapchat, androidpay, and pokemon go will work.

After root my Snapchat stopped working... I already tried magical autohide but dosent work. I selected from the app selection menu.

I been on beta for more than year doesn't work at all after root best way is unroot the phone then login to snapchat then reroot it n nvr log out of snapchat.. That worked in my one plus 2 n still working by luck I guess
But this is not a good solution

So I've had this problem before on my HTC One M8 and my Note 4. Snapchat used to look for xposed but now they switched it up to just look for su. If not it looks for the same thing that Android Pay looks for to check for a modified system.

S health Fix on khongloi Nougat Rom s7 edge port v3

Hi guys!
As some of you will know, Samsung have no longer allowed S-Health to work on devices where Knox has been tripped.*
This guide will show you how to get the latest version of S-Health to run without this block.
Some members and also me reported s-health for knox doesnt work on khongloi Roms but if you follow this ways you can solve this problem and deknoxed problem.
After install Rom install this zip in TWPR to change buid.prop.
I tested it only on my n920cd device on khongloi nougat s7edge ported Rom.
If you have problem tell to check it.
And also thanks to @CuBz90 (S7 edge developer)

After flashing this swiftkey gives me a constant error even after uninstalling and reinstalling. It did fix s health though.lol

Obviously it is s7 build.prop it is rather smart to edit it in the Rom build.prop

If it were obvious to me I wouldn't have needed to post anything. I'm not new at this, but I'm not overly educated on it either. I always appreciate when sometime helps me out, and I try to help others when I'm able. So I'm not sure what you thought being a smartass would accomplish, but thank you anyway, I figured it out a week ago. Considering I posted that 8 days ago .
