I recently flashed the Hong Kong marshmallow 6.0.1 ROM onto a Chinese SM-A8000 because the stock Chinese ROM that came with the phone didn't have any Google services on it. The ROM installed without any problems, but I didn't have a SIM to test it right after it installation was finished. When I eventually got a SIM to use in the phone, I realized that the phone was able to receive SMS but i wasn't able to reply. I looked around in the messages app setting but I couldn't find anything that was blocking the phone from carrying out the task. I also installed Google messenger and the problem still persists.
Is there anything I can do to solve this issue? Is it something with the ROM?
The country I'm using the phone in is Jamaica and the network is Flow.

Hi everybody,
For a while I was using the SHV-E250L under custom firmware without problem.
Now, I moved to China and I must use my mobile with stock firmware (company policy). However, since I came changed to stock firmware / unroot, the connection to the network is random:
-Somtimes working well
-But most of time i got the messages "impossible to register to the network" or "registration unauthorized"... asking me to call a customer service in Korea. It's like the mobile is using roaming, just because the phone is Korean (but I'm in China with China SIM !)
I don't know if some users of this variant already faced these issues.
I was thinking, if I change the CSC number to China, and reset the firmware via Kies it would be better, but I'm not sure that it's possible.
If anyboby have any idea.
thank you by advance.
Hello
So this is probably a really dumb question but its something i need to know before i do something stupid. So while my gf was in China she bought the American Verizon version of the S5, which had some custom Chinese firmware on it. Now recently i have got the phone now and i updated it and flashed the new 5.0 firmware on it. Now i like it but it is all american with a load of apps and stuff. I am using my three UK sim card and it kinda works but its very buggy when it comes to data and text and calls. So i want to be able to put UK firmware that would work with 3 mobile well. is this possible? the specs of my phone are below (it is also currently rooted)
Thanks
Update
Update: So i installed the Syndicate Lollipop ROM and its pretty much how i want it without any bloatware so i resolved this myself internet seems to be working fine also including texts and calls
Hello,
I own a Huawei Honor 5x (KIW-AL10) and it seems to be the chinese version.
The problem is i cannot sync contacts or get google apps by default. It's really annoying. Plus some chinese words here and there, even if the language is set to english.
My question is : how safe would be flashing a stock ROM, but for a different version of the phone (USA, Europe).
Has anyone did this before ? And if so, what ROM and where to download it from ? I would like to receive Marshallow update too.
Thank you
Hi Sir, you can install any version of the stoock rom just be sure that your model is same otherwise it will not install. And you can install Europe one because MM is recieved by the Europe CSC phones
The LTE bands seem to be fine. I live in Romania and i get 4G. My only issue with the phone is the ROM and all Google features i cannot get. For example, i cant use contacts from my Google account.
Im looking for a solutions to be able to install an international version of software and not to brick my phone. By the way, my phone has 3GB of RAM.
Hello and thank you for your input.
The thing that buggs me right now is that i cannot use google contacts.
I've downloaded Play Store from Huawei thingy presinstalled on the phone and worked my way from there.
Google App, Gmail are up to date.
Problem is that "sync contacts" will not appear on Accounts > Google. I have given all permisions to Google app.
I need to find a way to switch to an European / Worldwide ROM. I am willing to pay for someone's time helping me.
I do love this phone and what it offers and i would like MM update too.
I've done some research and it seems that is possible to change the region code. After that its ok to flash the ROM from that specific region.
However, i dont have any experience regarding this process. Can someone assist me via skype ? I will pay, of course !
Noone did this before ?
Hello, So I already know that I can flash my mobile with UK single sim rom version with no problem. I know, that I need to use Odin. After flash I want to set my device as new. I need only to backup my:
- messages
- call log
- all gallery
Can You advise me how to do that, please?
Sign into your Samsung Account and it should prompt you to backup all that stuff, although for the gallery I think the only way you can back it up is by moving all of them over to an SD Card and back later after you flash the stock firmware.
Good luck.
All loaded and working perfectly. It took 4 hours for set up everything, but now everything is perfect ( it was perfect before, but I'm living in UK and I want UK firmware, even on the back of the phone in UK address )
Great! Glad you got it sorted out!
Hello Guys,
I bought an S4 and I discovered that I was scammed (it was the sprint version and not the GT-I9500 as it was indicated on my about phone tab). It comes with 4.4.2 and everything was working fine (the only things that bugs me was that I was unable to receive updates). Recently I encountered some little issues so I decided to install a new ROM. I tried the Vanir and Commotio ROM and for a moment I was super satisfied (it was an amazing experience). However after putting back my SIM card, each time I try to deal a call, I got the error "mobile network is unavailable". I thought it was an issue from the ROM I used so I tested the LineageOS and same issue. Finally I tested the STOCK ROM Lollipop and the same issue again except this time the WiFi does not work. Now my phone is completely useless, so can anyone help please ?
PS: When I go to settings->about->status, everything about the SIM info(network, my phone number,...) is set to unknown. the IMEI is intact (non null). IMEISV is 00.
