Unable to send text messages - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good Evening All
I have a verizon S5 G900V.
When sending a message to a UK Number starting with +44, I get the following error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, when the number starts with 0, the message sends fine.
My phone is rooted, hence any suggestions to overcome this problem will be appreciated.
Kind Regards

Is your phone from another country? I'm thinking maybe to do with modem/carrier
the uk's international label is +44, but the USA one is +1
0044 and 001

Yes, it is the Verizon model hence from the US. However, I am using it in ths UK. Sending texts numbers starting +44 results in that message. If I edit the number to start with 0, then the message sends.

sounds like its the phones automatic tendency to think its in america since its a verizon phone. Might be inherent in the ROM and part of the dialer. Could also be a setting in the dialer that would also govern texting since it uses phone numbers

HTC Hero users hit by Twitpocalyse bug

For those of you on Hero ROMs... read this:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
It's great having lots of manufacturer provided applications in the ROM of your mobile device, but what happens if one of them breaks? It's not as easy as just contacting the developer for an updated version is it!
This is exactly the problem being faced by users of 'HTC Peep', the Twitter client on the HTC Hero.
Last night, the unique id number assigned to each Tweet exceeded 4,294,967,295, in an event we covered as 'Twitpocalyse II'. This is the highest number that can be stored in an unsigned 32 bit integer. If the developer of a Twitter client uses this method to store the Tweet ID, then unexpected things will happen. Hence, since this occured, Peep users have been unable to use the application, instead being greeted by the error message above (after which the application either closes or refuses to load new tweets).
We have contacted HTC to ask how long Hero users should expect to wait for a fix, but if you are affected, it might be time to try out Twidroid, Twitterride or perhaps Swift!
UPDATE: HTC have responded to this issue. They have said "Thanks for helping to make us aware of the details of this problem. We have are investigating the issue and are working with Twitter on a solution. We apologize to our users for any inconvenience this has caused."
We'll bring you more information as it comes in.

[Q] [BUG] honeysmartdroid window

Hello,
I found a bug in the (honeysmartdroid rom) and since I can't post it in the development thread (because of less than 10 posts) I'm posting it here hoping someone can help me.
The problem is this, when I want to use my banks app I have to fill in my card number by spinning wheels, but the window is to small in the rom so can't enter the last number.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This also occurs with the date of birth, there also the last number is missing (you only see 199 and 198 etc.) but there I can spin it and guess wich 199 year i'm at.
So my question is:
Does someone know an easy way to fix this?
and if this isn't in the right place how do I get it there?
First of all, if you posted anywhere else but here or even better, Q&A, the thread would be closed.
As for your problem, to me it looks like a resize problem. Best thing you can do is message memnoc, attach those images and wait.
And yes, there is an easy fix for that. Flash another ROM.
EDIT: And frankly it isn't that hard to guess which year it is. If the last one 198 and the one above is 199, it's only reasonable to conclude that its 1989 and 1990. So from there I think it should be more then easy.
thanks, I wil send a message to memnoc. And like I said the problem was with entering bij bank card number (ends with 3 numbers and I can only enter 2), not with the year. That was just extra as an example.

Google voice issues on Nexus

is anyone else having issues with Google voice properly displaying the number that you are dialing ? this is driving me nuts.
iI make a call and the phone shows the Google exchange number NOT the number that iI am actually calling.
thanks.
Thread moved. All question threads belong here in Q&A.
Thanks
AvRS
I'm experiencing it too. Tested and found it was only on nexus 4, not on galaxy nexus so it's something specific to this device.
I don't know if I fully understand the problem. I dial a number in the phone app and hit call (I have it set to always use GV) and it dials the correct number... Where exactly are you guys seeing the wrong number?

Don't think its specific to the Nexus 4.
Works fine on my Nexus 4. Number dialed is displayed at the top, while the "Calling via Google Voice" is displayed in the blue bar (which disappears after a few seconds)

I also have the same problem (4.2.2 stock).
After reboot first call is working fine, second and all other display Google's forwarded number in call log.
Here is some screenshots:
1. I start dialing some number:
2. Than immediately number changed to Google's forwarder number:
3. In call log I can see both numbers:

Contacts names not display in sms app

After I update my phone via ODIN, sms app (including stock app) doesn't show the contacts name. Instead of that it shows phone number.
I have SM-G900F SGS5. I used UK version firmware.

You are making an assumption that the SMS apps should automatically scan your contact information and auto update. But you don't provide any history, context or details to even begin to guess if that is an accurate assumption. I'd assume that you'd need to manually update or import such information.
No doubt if you did a decent search, you'd discover which is the case in existing threads.
The suggestion to try clearing your cache is reasonable, try that first and see if it makes any difference.

Class 0 Message/Flash SMS

Recently my carrier has decided to push Class 0 Messages (aka Flash SMS) after the disconnection from any call. I used to be able to block those popups by blocking the number it came from in Google Messenger. Now, the blocking doesn't work.
Has anyone had Class 0 Message popups that you've managed to block? I've Googled for hours and tried quite a few apps (Xposed and non-Xposed) but they fail to work.
Here's a screen cap to show what I'm talking about

Oh yeah, that would be helpful. I doubt anyone heard of it though, it's called Life Wireless (listed as Telrite/Pure Talk on Google Play). It's from the Lifeline government program where a disabled person can get free or reduced price cell phone service. They piggy-back off of AT&T's network.
I emailed them and they said I would have to call customer service. I have my doubts they could help me, but I'll try calling them anyway.
Google really needs to implement an API for dealing with Class 0 Messages.
