I love the new update but it has made my experience with smule a living hell. It was working perfectly last night before the update then right after that's when I noticed issues with the app. Whenever I record the audio is skipping and stuttering and I am unable to record any songs. All of the other apps I have used have worked fine it's just this one app in particular that I am having an issue with. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling and the problem still persisted. I use this app often and i really hope I can fix it soon. I also tried clearing cache and data and that didn't work either. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it thank you
You Aren't The Only One
I'm experiencing the same thing you are with Smule. Maybe it's compatibility changes after the update to Nougat. Smule needs to fix it asap
However, I feel it might take a awhile. It took them so long to get phones on sync with audio and now they have to start over. S8 Samsung users in the future will not be pleased if this is still a problem. Maybe we could find something in our settings that would help besides the application itself.
Here is some quick fix i found myself incidentally..
while recording if you realize the mic is not working, immidiately lock the screen then unlock it, the mic will be working after 2-3 second, sometime it takes to do another lock and unlock, then you can restart the song and mic will be working properly... this will continue for several song until th problem recur, then lock and unlock your phone again. for now this fix works for me

Hello,
I am getting a 1 second sound delay effecting menu and all apps after the device is left on over night, tried factory resetting and with and without sleep mode. Has anyone else experienced this issue or have a solution for me?
Thanks
I was going to say the same thing. I have random one second lag in YouTube (rarely), BSDroid (always), but not in Plex or Kodi. The problem is fixed by pausing in YouTube and jumping forward on BSDroid. It's a big pain as these issues don't affect the chrome cast I have on the same TV and network.
I don't have to wait, it's pretty much out of the box. I have tried stock 5.1.1, rooted 5.1.1, CM12 nightlies, and all AOSP roms available. I feel like it's an issue with the Google Cast app? I'll try 5.1 and see if the situation changes tomorrow.
I haven't even bothered rooting mine yet, as this issue goes right down into the system. Even moving around the menu their is a 1 second delay in the sound. Only goes away with a reboot.
I think I may have found my issue, it seems that when I put the TV into PC mode to fix the overscan I get this sound lag after the TV turns off and then back on again. still troubleshooting it though.
Waited a while to get some new nightlies out and still the same problem. Tried 3 different TVs, all casted audio is delayed and has to be reset. Guess i have a junker now
Hi, ever since I got my G928T I've been having an extremely strange problem where video and audio will not play (regardless of source). This means nothing out of the speakers , and in the case of YouTube, the video being frozen on the first frame.
I've done a factory firmware reset through Kies, and am now rooted running the new custom kernel released a few days ago. I also converted /system, /data, and /cache to f2fs.
However, regardless of what I do, the problem persists.
The only way I've been able to do anything about this problem is by placing a phone call and then ending it. I have no idea why, but this will always fix the audio and sometimes the video for a short period of time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? The times when the phone call doesn't fix it are extremely annoying; I practically run my life on my phone and the inability to play media isn't a good thing.
Thanks!
A little more detail with the calling: every single time I want to play a different YouTube video, I have to open the dialer, place a call, and go back to YouTube for the video go begin playback.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm still trying to find a solutuon!
I dont know i mean trying to find the answer does anyone know this plz give the answer ok
Furthermore, this issue isn't solely audio and video, it's every single sound throughout the OS (including keyboard clicks and tap sounds).
Very odd, I really don't know what to do :/
MAY HAVE FOUND A FIX!! I disabled AdaptSound and SoundAlive with Titanium Backup and I've yet to experience any issues.
This may be what we need!
Let me know if it works for you guys!
I also installed Viper4Audio, and used force enable for the super high audio quality driver.
EDIT: Does not seem to always work; instances of failure have still ocurred
They do, however, seem to be somewhat less frequent...
Good luck everyone!
So a bit more info: ever since installing Viper and disabling said apps via Titanium Backup, I find that most of the time I simply need to press the lock button when the song audio/video isn't working and that'll fix it. I have no idea why turning the screen off would make the phone to play the sound, but that's where I'm at now..
I am experiencing random cut outs of audio during media playback through the speaker. Bluetooth and headset working fine. Notifications and other sounds working fine. Mainly during video playback, streaming and video stored on device, the sound plays for a few seconds then cuts out. I didn't have this issue before the most recent OTA update. I have tried factory resets, rebooting, wiping cache, even custom roms. Does anyone else have this issue? What is the solution?
I have the same issue as you. GS7 Edge Verizon. I can't find any solutions out there yet :crying:
Same issue. The only thing that I can add is that when the speaker cuts out, if I switch to phone, make a call, and then put the call on speakerphone, then hang up, the problem is fixed for a few minutes.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Surely its a common issue. Unless my phone is on charge I can't use apps like spotify, listen to podcasts or radio unless I keep the screen on.
Any luck?
I have the issue on a sm-g930F. Samsung support just says i should send them my device but thats not my plan. I called them and sayed i want a update of the firmware but they refused me and just sayed i have to send it to them because they can not make a update without my device is seen. I really hope someone sends his device to them that we can get a new firmware . Iam on android 7.0 official samsung update but this bug is in 6.0 the same .
Anyways i need a soöution for this. Its a softwarebug i know, because nexus 6p users and nexus 5 users expirienced the same ****in error. Please help out.!!!
I was experiencing audio pause or stopping after an OTA upgrade to Nougat on my stock S7 Edge Duo (G935FD), when using Pocket Casts podcast app to play files stored locally on internal memory. This seemed to happen primarily when using wired headphones or bluetooth speaker, and some minutes after the phone screen turned off.
I tried wiping the app cache, reinstalling the app, wiping phone cache, full phone wipe, reinstall stock Nougat via ODIN, TWRP & rooting phone, disabling Samsung App Power Saving via Titanium Backup (com.samsung.android.sm / com.samsung.android.devicesecurity). Only when I booted into SAFE MODE did the problem go away. So I used TB to disable pretty much everything I could recognise as an app I had installed.
Eventually, after much tinkering I seem to have narrowed it down to some combination of Quick Connect, Google Chrome and Android System Webview. I have disabled QC and Chrome and I no longer have any audio issues. When I unfreeze/freeze Chrome or Android System Webview I get an audio issue as the app freezes/unfreezes.
I had same problem and ı thought this problem can be related to an app ı installed. And it was. When i uninstalled Sputnik news. My problem had gone. If u have it, uninstal. If u dont have, may be one of other app causes. Try uninstalling each app, and find the app causes this problem
why im writing this
i was so mad and so confused when this happened to me yet the fix was so easy. even xda didnt have a fix i only wish to help anyone with this issue.
what caused the issue and Information on the issue
so i got caught in the rain walking home drenched from the rain my Nexus in my pocket but i was only in the rain for 20 mins when i got home i noticed youtube wasn't working "a error occurred during playback" on every single video so i was like. wtf is my data not working. i loaded a webpage it worked just fine. so i was like hm. must be youtube ill wait. so i opened up Google Play Music to listen to some Pantera. to my surprise same issue. "the song you requested could not be played." now this is when i realized something was wrong because this song was stored on the hard-drive in "downloaded" mode. so i opened up Angry birds. no sound... so i thought.. werid. i wonder if the rain screwed up my speakers... but it wasnt even heavy rain. so than attempted to call google support. no. the call wouldn't go through. so i tried to call my sister. the phone app crashed. thats when i realized it had to be a software issue if it was hardware the videos and music would play but without sound. being told "a error occurred" . still on system UI made me know it was a software issue. so i restored the phone. still no fix. thats when i started to notice. the screen wouldn't rotate either so i installed a rotataion app to manually go back and forth from portrait and landscape. for days i used a bluetooth speaker.
the fix
turns out. the issue was sooooo simple. the mic was clogged.... i took a metal tool and used it clear it out. a video on youtube told me how to do it. and it was my last ditch effort i also took a q tip and did the same with the headphone jack and now the rotation and sound works
lolololololol
you fixed all your hardware and software problems by cleaning the mic?
oh god
Same issue please help
I am having the EXACT same issue you had with your Nexus 6p, I got mine wet in the rain for 2 minutes the other day And now have playback errors on EVERYTHING unless I'm connected to a Bluetooth device. I read your fix and tried to clean out there microphone generally but no luck. Any chance you could point me to the video you watched and or give me any further details on your process to fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I also cleaned out the headphone jack. Try that. And o noticed you said " gently" I tried it gently and it didn't fix my issue that's why I resorted to a metal tool I think what happened was water dried on top of whatever is inside the mic hole. I was damn near ready to sell the phone for like $50. So I wasn't gentle about it at all I sort of like tried scratching around in there. I can link you the YouTube video but it won't really do any good . It's the only thing he did but if you want it hold on
Edit: the video won't show up in my YouTube history I can't link the exact video.
hello ,
I have the exact same problem like with my nexus 6p from about a month , is the mic you mean the one above the finger print sensor or there is another one ??
I'm having the exact same issue now as well with the exact same phone. My problem started because of a different reason though. My phone never got wet. I flashed the CM 14.1 Nethunter rom and was using it for about 4-5 days but then started having issues with Gapps so today I decided to restore the backup I made before I flashed Nethunter and this is when I started noticing problems. Upon first boot my fingerprint was recognized but my pattern lock wasn't, which is weird because I only ever use the same pattern. Booted into TWRP and removed the files containing the pattern so all is well there. It wasn't until I went to set an alarm that I noticed my sounds not working. Then had my girl call my phone; straight to voicemail. Tried a YouTube video; error occurred during playback on every video. This is definitely not as simple a fix as roughly jam something into the mic hole, but it's awesome that worked for OP. If anybody has any ideas for how to fix this or what what wrong I would hella appreciate some insight. Classes start tomorrow and I pretty much rely on my phone alarm lol.

Hey I think I figured this out. Some people found that power cycling your device multiple times fixes it which points to it being a software issue. I noticed that when I would try to play my music from Amazon Music it would automatically pause meaning that either an app was prioritizing the audio or some programming was blocking sound. I went into settings -> sound -> do not disturb -> automatic rules. From there I deleted all rules except for Events and the sound came back within a few minutes. There is a problem with do not disturb with my device so others may be having the same problem.
Hey thanks for the update! I'll give it a try!
(I know there's a thread about the audio cutting out every 2 seconds, but mine is a bit different.)
Audio would play just fine for a day at most, then randomly all the audio would stop working.
More specifically, I get a music playback error, videos on facebook and youtube can not be played, and audio for games are absent.
I'd wake up and my phone alarm is missing.
The audio doesn't cut out the first 2 seconds of a video, at least not that I'm aware of. Audio everywhere just stops working.
Although, I found that clearing the cache and memory would sometimes fix it temporarily, as well as closing all apps.
Ultimately, I would restart the device (Since videos still won't load) and it would fix itself temporarily for another few hours.
I've done a factory reset, and the problem still persists.
Should I be worried if this is a hardware issue? I feel like this might just be a software issue alone, so I'm unsure whether to wait for a new software update or turn it in for a different phone.
I am also facing the same sound problem in Germany on O2. The problem starts randomly during a call and after that no sound in the whole mobile works. Earpiece, speaker, headphone and microphone stops working.
I have tried factory reset but it didn't resolve the problem. I have even tried Safe Mode, but the problem appears in that too.
It seems like phone app takes control of all the audio and then fails to release the control.
The only solution is to restart the phone.

It happened to me on S8 and then I replaced with S8+ it is even more worse than that.
I found the issue. For me, it was the Facebook application running in the background. It's taking too much memory and causing the phone's audio to break for some reason.
Deleted it and I haven't had an issue with the audio ever since.

It is not a facebook issue in my case. As I have tried in safe mode and this problem appears in safe mode too. In safe mode, no application can run except systems apps.

It came back after 3 days, ya isn't facebook. This is too annoying to deal with.
It is a hardware issue, I can tap hard on the back of the phone in the middle and sound returns, try it next time.

I tried that, but it works better when I just clear the Ram/Cache. Which makes me believe this is a separate issue, more software than hardware.

It still happens after a cache clear, and clearly if you bang on the phone and a speaker stops or starts playing, thats a hardware issue. There is no software that would do this.
I believe it's both a software and hardware issue depending on the phone you got.
I really wish Samsung would do more to solve this issue.
I just found the problem to my issue.
It was a software issue, Facebook Chat Heads was interrupting the audio and video functionality.
I disabled it, a week has passed and the problem has disappeared.
