Hello,
First of all, I tried to search, but all solutions found did not work.
Now, the problem: I can't boot to ClockWorkMod Recovery anymore (version 2.5.0.7.). The phone just goes to the dreaded Red Triangle with the Exclamation sign. I tried Power + Volume Down, then to recovery, I get and error: "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command".
I tried to reflash the ClockworkMod recovery from the ROM Manager menu, but it didn't solve the problem.
Thank you for any suggestions.
After the E:Can't open... message appears, wait for a while, and a blue menu appears. There choose "Apply sdcard: update.zip" (which, I believe, is there if you flashed CWM), and that should launch recovery mode.
At least that works for me. Good luck!
Thank you, it works. I then rebooted it and all is ok. Still when tried to access recovery via ClockWorkMod it doesn't work. Any ideas?
What do you mean by "recovery"? CWM recovery screen? You said that it works, after applying the update.zip that should bring you to recovery screen.
The update.zip will not flash your recovery partition. You need S-OFF and to use ADB to flash a new one.
Sent from my S-OFF Bell Canada HTC Legend.

I had the same thing, used "Fix Permissions" from within ROM Manager, then reflashed clockwork
let me know if this works for you too
Hello,
I was trying to flash TWRP on my phone, but it looks like I messed up something, and now my phone is stuck on a loop with a message on top left corner of the screen: "Recovery Booting ...". It keeps showing that message. All I can access is Download Mode.
What should I do now?
I flashed POTTER_OPS28.85-17 to return the phone to factory defaults and it completed successfully. The problem is whenever I reboot the phone I get the Moto logo with the text on top saying "Bootmode is Recovery" followed by the Android guy 'no command' text. From there I need to press Power-Vol-up, select 'Reboot to bootloader' and then select start from the bootloader menu. At that point the phone boots normally and works as it should. How do I fix the phone from booting into recovery on every boot?
Found my answer in this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74109609&postcount=65
After clearing the /misc partition, the issue went away and it booted correctly.
[solved] Bricked? A3 2017, no download accesible, "failed to set up dirty target"
Hi!
I just bricked my A3 2017. After flashing a stockrom with ODIN no boot is possible any more. I cannot enter the download mode because I just get the blue screen with the android saying "no command".
Pressing Power + Vol-up + home leads to a message
"E: Failed setting up dirty target [hwr-symlink] failed to mount /system as rw"
Maybe the stockrom file was corrupt. Is there anything I can do to get into download mode again or to flash without odin?
I am coming from Lineage 16, so maybe the boot looder of stock 8 isn't running if you have installed Android 9 previously.
Any hints?
After many tries with vol-down and home I managed to get to the download screen sometimes. After that I tried to flash AP files from stockrom again but never succeeded. I don't know why I get past the blue "no command" screen in maybe 1 of 20 attempts with the same key combination (vol-down and home) only.
Today I tried to flash a recovery from here
https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:141/firmware:15535
This was successful and I managed to boot into recovery. In recovery mode I booted into bootloader and the phone booted to normal stockrom I flashed at the beginning (before the nightmare begun).
Still, I don't know what happened but it seems to be some problem of rw-rights...
Anyway... Problem solved!
So I had TWRP on my Moto G5 Plus, with Magisk, I tried to flash a custom ROM in it but got a soft brick, i managed to unbrick it. When i tried to install Magisk again, whenever i booted into Recovery Mode I only got a "No Command" screen. My question is: Can I flash TWRP again with no worries? Thanks a lot. (I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so if not, sorry)
Speaking from experience It should be safe to install twrp again. I have bricked and then unbricked my phone three times. Each time I unbricked my phone I was able to flash twrp again without a problem.
When entering recovery mode ignore the see the "No Command" screen. When you reach the "No Command" screen press the power button and press the volume up button to access the recovery mode screen.
