I'm using zuk z1,android 5.1.1,a normal device as it is from manufacturer.I want to root my device. As I am newbie I got a doubt, does unlocking bootloader means rooting device? After I unlocked my bootloader with help of my computer,can I directly install TWRP manager app from play store and flash TWRP recovery with that app?l don't want to flash it by PC as I don't know much about it. Can I flash supersu with smartphone itself.
No. Until you don't install KingoRoot Or SuperSU. Your phone is not permanently rooted. Rooting is the Android equivalent of jailbreaking, a means of unlocking the operating system so you can install unapproved apps, deleted unwanted bloatware, update the OS, replace the firmware, overclock (or underclock) the processor, customize anything and so on.

Well, I believe that using the manager won't make any difference with flashing it using a PC. And once you have flashed the recovery, reboot into it and in my case, when I was trying to reboot to system from TWRP it popped a message and told me that your phone is not rooted- Do you want to root and install SuperSU? And that's how I rooted mine. However after booting into the system you might want to update the SuperSU and the binary to the latest version!

In the guide it says that i must install TWRP and afterwards i can root.
AFAIK, from my experience with other phones, when i install TWRP it will mess up my current OS so i would need to install other OS.
Is that correct or if i install TWRP and then Root, the phone will boot normally to STOCK OS?

In twrp you have an option to flash SUPERSU.

you basically need to unlock the bootloader after requesting a code for it, then you can fastboot flash twrp, and then you can root it. your phone will be factory reset, but rooted.
twrp doesn't change anything in any rom.

I'd recommend Magisk over SuperSU at this point. Download the Magisk zip and flash it with TWRP.
If you don't root immediately after installing TWRP, your phone will revert to the stock recovery on the next boot.

Hi, so I was trying to get full root not only system less root on j730gm and what i followed here to rooted mobile witj twrp first(boot.img patched), then after that full unroot (keep boot.img patched) and in twrp gave command and install super su zip again and this time logs clearly showed system method while rooting, after all that I am getting bootloop. Mobile is hang on samsung logo, tried reset with twrp and official recovery both. Can some one tell me where i did mistake or where is the problem. My only requirement is to root this mobile and make super user app as system app. Even after hard reset mobile should stay rooted. Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't understand your goal?
Systemless root IS full root. Your terminology is incorrect.
SuperSU doesn't really support system root on Android 7.
I also dont see the point of making SuperSU a system app. Even though its rather pointless if that is all you require for whatever strange reason then you can just move the Supersu app to the system partition.
There is a better way to stay rooted after a hard reset and it's called FRP.
First there is nothing strange in stay rooted after hard reset, trust me. My friend use this mobile. He needs root for lucky patcher. When first he came to me I rooted it via twrp and after couple of days he came back with custom binary block option and plus he doesn't remember newly created gmail id pass. For me it was hell of a job. So i decided to root it permanently. I am not an expert though but my point was to take full root instead of systemless root. Thanks for clearing that 7.0 isn't supported for full system root. I saw here a rom stock dexoded and pre rooted. Is it better option to install it rather than stock rom?

Like I already stated Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is already built in to SuperSU.
Just do the following in a terminal then re-install SuperSU:
echo "FRP=true">>/data/. supersu
.

I would think one can flash when booted into TWRP. One needs to be unlocked though.
The custom ROM you flash does not need to be rooted either.
In fact one can boot into TWRP from fastboot. So one does not even need TWRP on the device itself.
You do not need to root your device to use a custom ROM. But if you wanna flash GApps, then you need to root your device or it may not work as intended.
Wrong, Gapps can be installed from TWRP which has unlimited access to the system partition. In that sense, TWRP is "rooted". But this has nothing to do with the installed firmware being rooted or not.

You can install custom ROM's unto your device via TWRP, as well as flash GAPPS and any custom kernels, mods etc you'd like WITHOUT having to gain superuser access within the ROM itself.
You WILL however require to unlock your bootloader that, at least as far as I know, WILL trigger safety net and thus render certain applications (like said banking apps) unusable. To avoid this you can flash magisk, an alternative root solution that also masks certain aspects of the device that allows the device to pass safetynet while retaining root.
There are plentiful amounts of tutorials out pretty much everywhere that will allow you to easily unlock your bootloader, install twrp and root w/ magisk if desired, etc.

I don't think you can relock the bootloader when on a custom rom. This will probably brick your device since it will fail the checks of the locked bootloader and then you will have a bricked device with a locked bootloader.
So yeah, you also spread some misinformation I suppose which is even more dangerous than what the other users suggested.

I brought a OnePlus 6t and immediately unlocked the bootloader. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't as I'm not really sure I need root.
But now I have, I need to root to use various apps now that I have unlocked the bootloader.
When I first rooted it, I didn't install twrp but can't remember what I did and cant find any guides.
Can anyone let me know what process I need to root without installing twrp please?

Boot in fastboot mode, then temporarily boot into TWRP (fastboot boot TWRPimage.img) and flash magisk zip and reboot system.
P.s. "boot" command does not permanently flash the image.
